Baby Movements - 10/3

I just noticed someone posted in the other Baby Movement post that was started by STM2017. Since she suffered a loss, I thought it might be nice to start a new post so that she does not receive a notification every time someone on our board feels baby move and post there.

So when you get excited that you felt your baby move come tells us all here!! :)

Re: Baby Movements - 10/3

  • Thank you, @BeachMommy2B  for being observant and catching that. :(

Baby Chap is on the move this week, occasionally wiggling aggressively enough for me to feel it. :)

Thanks for reposting. I just posted in the other one, too then realized who had started the thread :(

So yeah I think I'm feeling the nugget move but somehow I just can't tell for sure. I was 100% certain with DD not sure why not now... :/

  • @BeachMommy2B that was incredibly observant and kind of you, way to go!
  • My crazy side thinks I've felt a movement here or there, but my rational side thinks it's still too early (11.4 today).  I'm looking forward to the kicks and flutters during the second tri.....but not when s/he runs out of room at the end.  LOL

  • My crazy side thinks I've felt some movement too haha! 11weeks today.

Sometimes I feel like I can feel my uterus expanding. It's kind of weird! Lol
  • @Aarg, that I have definitely felt.  I get a small, quick cramp every day or two and I know that's what it has to be.  This is my third kid, I thought it would be floppier this time around.   :D

  • I keep thinking I feel little squirms, but talk myself out of it because with my son the first movements were just little taps or "popping bubbles". It couldn't possibly be baby squirming as first movement already could it?
  • I'm currently in the "is it gas or is it baby?" phase. I feel a little twinge every now and then, but it still seems too early. I didn't feel DS until 17-18 weeks.

  • 13 weeks with number 2 and I feel like it's too early but I also think I know what baby movements feel like since I've been pregnant before... so I think they are little baby flutters.
  • I've definitely felt flickers here and there this past week. My SIL said she started feeling baby #2 move a lot earlier than last time, too. I'm going with that it's the baby moving.

  • So exciting reading about first kicks!

With my first I was hesitant to think what I was feeling were movements but this time around I have been definately aware of "the butterflies" everyone else described last time. I'm also a bit crazy though as I'm only 11 weeks. Things are definitely happening down there though hahaha.
  • Still haven't felt anything and don't expect to for a few more week. With DD I first felt her the night before I turned 18 weeks. Today at my appointment we sure heard him/her kicking. The midwife listened to the heartbeat for the first time and it took a long time to get it because that baby was NOT having it. The second she put the wand on me there was a thud and she laughed and asked if I was feeling the baby yet. I said no. She said she wouldn't be surprised if I did soon. She explained what we were hearing was baby kicking at the wand. It went like this... thud, thud, thud and then she would get the heart for 3 seconds, beat, beat, beat and then thud, thud, thud and she would have to try and find it again because he would wiggle away. He was definitely moving around. The midwife thought it was pretty funny and said that baby was definitely way more active than normal. Looking forward to feeling things.

  • I didn't feel anything with my first until about 16 weeks, so I'm not expecting anything yet (14 weeks). But my muscles hurt WAY more than I expected with this not being a first pregnancy!

I definitely started feeling the baby yesterday at 13w3d. I had been feeling something for the last few days but wasn't totally sure until yesterday. This is baby #2. :)

  • @NurseLaLa the worst! I had them so bad the second 2/3 of my last pregnancy. They get so painful for not being productive! Hope yours aren't too bad!
  • @NurseLaLa that doesn't seem fair!

I'm only 11 weeks but I was at a concert last night and I swore I was feeling lots of movement.  Maybe it was just my body parts moving around but something was going on.

  • @NurseLaLa I was wondering if it was possible that is what I was feeling. By 20 weeks with my 1st baby I was having strong ones several times a day and the number just grew and grew. It seemed that was pretty early for a FTM. The last week I swear I was having some already, but I didn't even think that was possible. Ugh. I bet that seriously is what they are. It feels just like when I was pregnant with DD.

  • Thankfully they aren't sore or painful! I can feel my uterus tightening up and it feels firm when I feel it with my hand, then it goes soft again. Makes for a well toned uterus for labor, so I won't complain... yet. hehe

  • Seeing these posts get me really excited! Not feeling any movement yet...but can't wait until I do!

I have also been feeling my uterus stretching, it almost feels as if I did a good ab workout...which is definitely no the case :)

  • Just started feeling teeny flutters at 12 w 2 d on Thursday. I felt and saw my son roll over at 16 weeks, apparently my kids are just very active haha :D
  • @ArchyFlores  Thuds and "waw waw" sounds like a something rubbing against wet rubber? (I swear thats the only way I can explain it) are baby moving in front of the doppler stream thats going to the baby's heart. Yesterday, he was moving all over the place AWAY from the doppler and I could hear him moving while I was completely still.

  • I am 12 weeks 3 days and I swear I felt the baby while I was in bed two nights ago.  Felt the same thing last night in bed and again today while driving home from work.  It was the same feeling in the same place, but I feel like I am too early.  I am a second time mom, so I feel like I should be able to distinguish movement from other sensations such as gas, but am still questioning myself.

@LyssaChap Yes!! I've been noticing that for at least the last week. I listen to our little fella each day and lately he moves away each time I find him with the probe.

There have been a few times in recent weeks where I've felt a very brief flutter in my uterus while lying down. Today (15 weeks),  however, there was undeniable flutters for several minutes not long after lunch.  :):):)  I was stuck at my desk,  but man did that make my day...I sat there smiling at my computer the rest of the work day.
  • I didn't feel my first pregnancy until around 17/18 weeks.  I also thought it was kinda crazy for anyone to feel their baby so early (12/13 weeks) BUT now with my second, I've been feeling them since last week.  I can tell pretty clearly when it's the baby and when it's something else. It is much like the 'butterflies' or 'turning of the stomach' but I say it happens just lower so you know it's not your stomach.  It's pretty cool and being that I haven't been successful with the doppler yet, it sure does ease my anxiety to at least feel the baby once a day and know things are going alright.

  • I have felt the same feeling, almost like a pressure (or someone poking me from the inside) very low to the left side and in the same spot for the past 3 days. Its similar to what I felt around 14 weeks with DD. So i'm currently in the boat of not knowing if its baby.... so i may just be smiling at gas bubbles  :D

  • I am pretty sure I felt the baby for the first time last night! It was low and almost as if I was being poked from the inside or like a muscle twitch! I'm a FTM so I'm hesitant to say that's what it is for sure.
    BabyFruit Ticker

  • @elgie, I have been feeling the same things as you. Like being poked from the inside. As a FTM I don't know if that is baby, but it's nice to think it is.

  • @elgie @doozenberg that was exactly what I felt at first when I was a FTM and that's what I've been feeling again the second time. I would bet it'a baby :)

  • WIth my first, it felt like an eraser from a pencil tapping me inside.  Later, I could feel swooshing movements of her moving around but first were those little pokes.

15 weeks with #2 and still nothing this time.

  • I've been feeling little flip flops that almost felt like my bladder spasming, so I dismissed it for a long time. Now I'm feeling that and more pokes and taps that are undeniably baby and have since midway through week 15. I think I've actually felt this baby as early as 12-13 weeks
  • I'm feeling him for sure now!  17 weeks with #2
  • @Koukonei
@chelle087 omg, how are you guys feeling kicks at 12 weeks?  are you sure those are kicks?  I got told the baby has massive room at that point and impossible to feel...?

I am 16 today and still nothing... my two friends are ahead of me and both felt flutters at 18/19 first.  We are all FTMs... maybe thats why?

Last measurement:  3150 gs at 37+1!  This is going to be a big baby :)
  • @smallanimal STM's definitely feel the baby sooner - 12 weeks seems really early but around then is when I felt a few flutters... then nothing for a while, and now I'll only feel the baby kicking if DD is laying on me - sibling rivalry already!!
