How big is baby? Milestones they hit this week? Baby is the size of an eggplant-or Atlantic puffin re: ovia. Haha. I am loving that app. 24 weeks is the first viability milestone!! Lungs are strong enough that babe has up to 70% chance of survival if born this week! Crazy!!!
Upcoming appointments? Monday appointment : discussing my ultrasound with a few cysts and going over pros and cons of having a follow up ultrasound. I am not sure it's necessary and always have said I dont want any extra... but since the tech was iffy on the gender, I kinda want to cave and get another one anyway to check.
Any new symptoms or changes? Constipation. Boooo. More speedy weight gain.:p Exhaustion--but that is also from having a teething toddler who is up at the crack of dawn and refusing to nap all day.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? I feel like "nesting". I don't want to do any other chores... I want to prep for baby. But it's hard when it's the second kid of the same gender... there's not much I can do. I just took out all of DDs hand me downs and I'm done. I even started packing my hospital bag because I was that in the mood for baby prep with nothing else to prep for.
GTKY: Who will be in the room with you when you give birth? Just DH - although this crazy attachment parenting mama is even contemplating having DH stay with DD in the waiting room IF things come on super duper quick and my mom can't get over to our house ASAP, because I don't trust anyone else with her.
How big is baby? Milestones they hit this week? This week babies are the size of avocados! I don't think I've had any milestones this week, though supposedly some women start to feel quickening this week.
Upcoming appointments? I have one on Monday to check the babies again. I usually go every two weeks, but my doc is going to be gone the week I'm supposed to go in so I'm going on a week early!
Any new symptoms or changes? Not that I've noticed, other than maybe some more heartburn if I eat too much in one sitting.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? Nope, I'm just thankful to have gotten this far!
GTKY: Who will be in the room with you when you give birth? DH. I don't know if anyone else will be allowed as I'll likely have a c-section.

How big is baby? Milestones they hit this week? Coconut, 15 oz. so just shy of a pound. He's growing keratin and hair on his scalp. Eyebrows and eyelashes are in place. Oh and hearing is better developed.
Upcoming appointments? No, not until mid- November and then I have a bunch.
Any new symptoms or changes? BH contractions are all the time. I'm feeling heartburn daily now. Other than that I feel just fine.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? Pelvic rest really sucks and hormones are raging. Hopefully another u/s at 28 weeks will show my placenta moved North.
GTKY: Who will be in the room with you when you give birth? DH only. I'm in the camp that the only people there for the birth are those that were there for conception. My mom would be 2nd choice of for whatever reason he can't be there.
How big is baby? Milestones they hit this week? Size of a banana! 6.5 inches long, 10.5 oz. it now has working taste buds
Upcoming appointments? I have my anatomy scan on Friday. Can. Not. Wait.
Any new symptoms or changes? Not really, same old same old.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? I'm just so glad my cold is finally gone. DH gave it to me last weekend. And he's throwing a fit about me asking him to get the flu shot.
GTKY: Who will be in the room with you when you give birth? Just DH, I wouldn't want anyone else there. I have a feeling it'll be a great bonding moment for the two of us.
How big is baby? Milestones they hit this week? Size of a banana!
Upcoming appointments? Nope, not until the end of November.
Any new symptoms or changes? been getting dizzy, but other than that, still just puking along. yaaaay *insert sarcasm here*
Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? Nope.
GTKY: Who will be in the room with you when you give birth? DH, my midwife, and I've been considering having my sister or a friend come in to take pictures.
How big is baby? Milestones they hit this week? Banana. Baby's has taste buds are working now.
Upcoming appointments? Not until the end of November.
Any new symptoms or changes? I am so hungry these last few days. Baby must be going through a growth spurt:)
Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? DH and I have been looking at names. On Nameberry there was Turtle as a name. We jokingly said we should use it since it is one of the few words DS can say:)
GTKY: Who will be in the room with you when you give birth? DH of course. I'm considering having my mom as well. I thought about it when DS was born but didn't ever call her in from the waiting room and later I kind of thought it would have been nice. So now I'm thinking that's what I'll do.
How big is baby? Milestones they hit this week? 6.5 inches crown to rump (wow!)
Upcoming appointments? AS in Friday afternoon!
Any new symptoms or changes? My belly gets sore by the end of the day. I guess I need a support belt? Ugh.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms?
GTKY: Who will be in the room with you when you give birth? Just my husband and the midwife and nurse. Seriously last time I was buck naked from about 7cm on. Ain't nobody got time to care about things like clothes when pushing a baby out, lol.

seriously!! Sounds like we had similar experiences. I was buck naked as soon as they broke my water and those intense pit contractions started. I'll be packing a sports bra with intention of putting it on, but we'll see if I have enough energy to do so haha
@kjd291 24 weeks wow!! Can you believe that these milestones are already here?! And I totally feel you on the teething toddler front... ex-haust-ting. I've also been contemplating having DS With US during delivery too bc we have no family in the area and our friends work full time.... soo stressed about this the last couple of days.
@Jen524 nooo!! That's awful! Both my lo and DH have it too. I've been trying to pump myself eith extra vitamins to avoid it but I've got a slight tickle in my thought this morning....
Had to check lol. 2nd time this week!! 22 weeks today!
How big is baby? Milestones they hit this week?
American Ginuea Pig. Organs are pretty much fully developed just a matter of packing on some healthy fat!
Upcoming appointments?
Tuesday for a follow-up US. Super anxious for the final bit of news on how she's doing but also super excited to see her and I'd imagine that this will be one of the last times we see her for quite a while.
Any new symptoms or changes?
Lots of movement. Some even uncomfortable already which is surprising.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms?
Weddings with toddlers are NO FUN!
GTKY: Who will be in the room with you when you give birth?
DH, midwife doula and photographer. We had a photographer with DS and it was amazing. We're also using the same doula which I'm super stoked about.
@vino831 I'm sorry!! it's hard not to stress and over think it. It's especially difficult since you have no idea what time of day things will get started. Ugh. If only we could schedule this natural labor thing I'm hoping for the sake of child care I go into labor after DDs in bed, so I can call whoever is closest to come stay here while she's sleeping and DH will be able to come be with her before the night is up
How big is baby? Milestones they hit this week? Baby is huge! lol just feels that way... about 10.5".
Upcoming appointments? Now we get called with Harmony results in about two weeks (it's the longer test timetable, not the shorter one according to the hospital nurse?). OB in about three, then another ultrasound (to follow up on CP cysts and the kidney thing they found at our AS) in 5-6 weeks.
Any new symptoms or changes? I have more energy but also get out of breath much easier.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? So glad our OB called and calmed me down about the AS findings. Switching docs took forever but it was all worth it.
@vino831 at first I read that as you HAVE a Guinea pig and got super excited. I had two in and after college and love them as pets.
GTKY: Who will be in the room with you when you give birth? DH and a doula along with OB and whatever nurses. We need to find this doula soon...
How big is baby? Milestones they hit this week? An endive, baby can do somersaults and his reproductive organs will drop soon!
Upcoming appointments? Not for another 5 weeks
Any new symptoms or changes? A little leaky boobs, random discharge through the day which always makes me second guess if I peed myself or not I did find out at my US that I have an anterior placenta, which explains why I really haven't felt many movements or kicks yet.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? Still kind of at a standstill for names! We were waiting to narrow it down more until we had the anatomy scan to confirm whether sneak peek was right. Hopefully we will be able to get the room cleaned out for the baby/guest room soon and get furniture in and start decorating
GTKY: Who will be in the room with you when you give birth? Just DH I imagine. Don't need a whole audience other than the medical professionals who need to be there!
married 10.10.14 @ Turks & Caicos yorkie mama to Oscar FTM EDD 3.12.17
How big is baby? Milestones they hit this week? Baby is the size of a coconut and not sure
Upcoming appointments? I have an appointment with my Midwife tomorrow to go over the results of our anatomy scan.
Any new symptoms or changes? Lots of baby kicks! I can feel him regularly on the outside as well which makes me giggle every time.
Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? Rants- all I want is a good nights sleep! I'm up to use the bathroom all night. I can't get comfortable no matter what I do and my hips are still killing me all night long.
Raves- now that we know the sex we have started fun stuff like picking out a name, planning the nursery, and filling up our registry.
GTKY: Who will be in the room with you when you give birth? DH and Doula
@vino831 Yes, and with DD it was pretty much from 2nd trimester on that I felt daily (and more) BH contractions and this pregnancy is exactly the same. My mom used to go to a nutritionist back in the 70s who told her to drink red raspberry leaf tea to strengthen my uterus. I did the same with DD until I later offered it to a friend when she was prego, and she gave me this awful look and told me that causes miscarriage and you're not supposed to drink it until late into pregnancy. Whoa! Now I come to find out it's like in Game of Thrones when they talk about "moon tea." Anyway, since then I figured the crazy contractions early on were from this but the upside is that DD was born in 4 hours. Now I'm realizing it's just my body because I'm NOT drinking that tea lol. I might start 3rd trimester though. BH are not painful at this point but become painful for me later. They're just annoying and make me feel like I have to pee.
@kjd291 Congrats on hitting the viability milestone! I can't wait for 24 weeks and will feel a major weight off my shoulders in 2 weeks.
How big is baby? Milestones they hit this week? Size of a hedgehog - 6 inches.
Upcoming appointments? Anatomy scan was today and I have a check in appt on Thursday
Any new symptoms or changes? Nothing new. Still feeling good and baby's moving a lot!
Rants/Raves/Questions/Randoms? We've almost cleared out what will be baby's room. Getting ready to start working on it!
GTKY: Who will be in the room with you when you give birth? DH. Mom asked about it last weekend and I told her I only wanted him there. She said something along the lines of "that's what your sister said too". My sister ended up having my mom there because my mom drove her to the hospital and she felt weird about asking her to leave. DH will likely be home if I go into labor during the day (he can work from home at his job and will likely ask to be 100% from home when I get close) so I shouldn't need her to drive me.

I would count on DH being gone for more than a few hours in the night....even if labor is super fast, I'm sure he's gonna want to spend time with tge new arrival before going home

Oh yes!! I'm not planning on kicking him out of the room without cuddles or before he's ready to go. Last time around he held DD while they cleaned me up, but was asleep on the pull out not long after haha.
