    Here's my confession (albeit tame):

I just want to spend Thanksgiving with MY side of the family and skip dealing with my MIL. I know we're supposed to share our great news with everyone, but I so just wanna phone it in...
    Yes!
Agreed! although to be fair- I would rather phone ANYTHING in to her over seeing her in person.

  • I'm pretty sure I fell asleep before the 2 year old I was babysitting last night. She was in her bed and I had a monitor right next to me, but still, I felt a little bad.

  • more of an UO but it's a topic on here, I hate seeing wives/mothers drive wedges between Their husbands and their MIL and/or doing the same with their children and their grandma. It's petty and stupid and depriving children of such a wonderful relationship. It also gives me a sense on how much you actually respect your husband.

My MIL and I have had some big fights but I WOULD NEVER put my husband or children in the middle. Unless I hear there is abuse or alcoholism, drug use, criminal activity..it's petty bullshit between petty women.
  • @Wino0920 Agreed! While I may not want to hang out with her, I do want my Mr and DD to see them.

I feel the same way about parents going through separation or divorce. Don't stop or discourage the children from continuing their relationship with their parent unless it's due to violence or abuse. If the other parent is a selfish asshat, the kid will eventually figure that out for themselves.

  • Not Friday anymore but whatever.

I drank raw milk the other day. Also ate lunch meat without heating it through. I think most of the what you can and can't eat while pregnant (or anytime for that matter) is a load of crap. Just eat a balanced diet and you'll be fine. And I'd argue raw milk is a million times better for you than the stuff at the store that has been processed so much.

Even though I know the posts are hurtful to some of the ladies on TTGP, I love going on there and reading the threads of people posting "am I preggers?" "Is this a line?" Etc. and I don't ever want those posts to go away. It's just way to much fun to read the responses and flaming. Even better when the OP responds instead of just deleting and running.
