I have declined about 8 Halloween party invitations for this weekend. I told everyone I already had plans when I'm really just going to put out deer stands. I love Halloween but it sucks with DH is off working.

I think people should consider finances before having kids/deciding on number of kids. I realize that sometimes this is out of their control (multiples) but outside of that, I think it's irresponsible when people are barely making ends meet and aren't trying to prevent a pregnancy.

I also know this makes me sound like an insensitive bitch.

@Basherbaby I hear you - I'm using our new adopted dog to get out of after work drinks tonight AND a Halloween party tomorrow. She'd be totally fine alone, but I just want to snuggle on the couch.

Lol I'm ttc and I have no savings account (other than retirement fund) at all. All extra money has been going to testing and will continue going to the RE now for treatment (it's SO fun that my insurance doesn't cover any infertility stuff). Zero fucks given. A year ago I was all high and mighty about being in the best financial situation prior to TTC. That has changed.

Also another FFFC I am that teacher that doesn't grade things until the end of the grading period. I warn my students at the beginning of the year so they know. Also zero fucks given there.

@antoto your situation is a little different -- you actually had extra money to put up for testing. So when you get your take home baby, in theory you'll have that extra money again, either for other emergencies or savings. The people I'm thinking of sadly wouldn't have even had that option.

@hartmich omg I know what you mean! People who say "I can have another because I still have my baby gear/clothes " piss me off! Bringing a human being into the world cost a lot more than just what it takes to buy a baby clothes!

@LuND I'm right there with you on the shit mood today.

My FFFC is I have zero intentions to be productive today. My boss has been telling me for 3 weeks he would schedule an appointment for us to discuss my compensation and still hasn't. Think I'll spend most of my day on monster looking at new jobs. I love my current job, my company, boss and coworkers but you can't pay bills with love!

@antoto - I agree with @hartmich that your situation is totally different. In my head, I was thinking about people like DH's cousin who has a 3 year old, deadbeat baby daddy, and a part time job at Panera. Yet she's been talking about giving her DD a younger sibling...

I've NEVER thought we would fully be financially ready for kids, but I think there is something to be said for some sort of stability!

@RunRestRepeat of course you want to snuggle on the couch with Hildabeest/Rae (right? settle on something?). God I'm really tempted to do the same... Now I'm going to spend an hour looking into volunteering at the local animal shelter so I can snag all the cuties. MH will be pleased...

My FFFC: I have put notes in my FF chart on each day over the next two weeks for what to look for each day (i.e. 9DPO: "average implantation DPO is today. min 6, max 10. check for dip"). I realize it's probably not healthy or even useful. But you know what?

Excellent. @antoto I'm with you. My husband and I have one, and it's like the veggie drawer in the fridge. Where good intentions go to die.

I am the procrastination queen. All my school stuff is due Tuesdays at noon (I'm doing an online veterinary technology program so I can finally get my license to do what I already do. Good times and not completely necessary.) And I generally work M-W 6 am to 7 pm. So I tell myself over and over to get it done on my four days off. So you know what I do instead? Sit on my ass and watch Gilmore Girls episodes that I've literally seen dozens of times. Or re-watch Supernatural. And when do my assignments get done? Sunday by ten pm so when my 4 am alarm goes off on Monday morning, I have had 4-5 hours of sleep and want to punch everyone. Why do I do this to myself? And good lord, when I finally do get pregnant, I'll be the woman who finishes up the nursery while I'm breastfeeding the newborn. That's how much of a procrastinator I am. When will I get better?! And why can't I procrastinate with something productive, like cleaning or exercising? Ugh.

@Pepper16 Damn that dress Judy Garland is wearing is beautiful. I love vintage clothing.

I obviously want to be pregnant to have a baby, but I would also love for this IUI (or at least the next IUI) to work so I can be pregnant for H's family Christmas party, then use pregnancy as excuse for why we need to stay in a hotel, not my in-laws' house. Backstory: My in-laws asked us if we were coming home for the Christmas party, and we said yes. THEN they told us that my FIL's brother and his family (wife, two adult children) will also be staying at their house (seven people, one bathroom). My husband, being the amazing man he is, said "so where are we going to sleep?" FIL says "Our house, of course." H says "How?" FIL says "Oh, the kids will sleep on the couch or something." And for some reason my amazing husband disappeared and was replaced with a child who can't stand up to his parents.

I hate their guest bed regardless, it's hard, small, and the room is hot, so I want to be able to say "Pregnant = needs sleep = hotel, foot down." And then I'm not a bitch because are the future grandparents really going to argue against the health of a fetus?? Please, jeebus, I need this.

@eggplantface I totally get that. I full on plan using our future child to change up the holidays. Sorry but we are having Xmas Eve this year because we want to be home with baby...

It makes me insane to see people I work with posting about how they want to lose weight, and they are "working so hard at it" (going on walks, making healthy food choices) and I see you walking in with MCDONALDS EVERY DAY AT LUNCH.

I was going to pull this for the holidays, too. I changed tactics and told my husband that I am going to be so sad that we haven't been able to get pregnant that I don't think I can handle his terrible family at such a sensitive time.

Do you watch the show You're the Worst? There was a bit this season about whether people wash their legs or just let the soap and shampoo run over them and call it good enough. I fall into the former category. My husband was so shocked to learn this about me. I was like.... Dude I already exfoliate and shave my legs once a week, you expect me to wash them every day too?!?!?!

Speaking of lawsuits waiting to happen, my coworker just showed me a slide deck for a presentation a senior person is giving about our organization in which the editors (of which I am one) were represented by a photo from WWII of women loading ammunition into a plane (because we "load products" to our internet). I laughed a little and said "Whoa, that's walking a fine line there. And two of us are men." This is a case of not knowing when to report something or when some men are just idiots.

@adirat omg I love that show! When Gretchen explained that she doesn't feel anything about anything I was in tears. As someone who suffers from bi polar depression I feel like they totally hit it on the head how I feel sometimes! And I love Edgar!

@cheframsay I love the show both because it is outrageously hilarious and because it is the realest, most nuanced portrayal of mental illness I've ever seen on TV. This season's plots include Edgar's PTSD and Gretchen's therapy sessions and it's great.

Also, my husband and I frequently say to each other, "Vernon, you have real problems, you're married to Becca" except with our own names...

@adirat @cheframsay I looooove You're the Worst. And as someone with GAD and clinical depression, I am amazed at how accurate their portrayal of mental illness is.

I have about 3 minutes left to my work day, and I think I have accomplished 1 thing...unless you count BSing and wasting time.
