This stupid nurse in triage is going to get yelled at, if not physically harmed.

I'm just here for a damn steroid shot. Yes I know I already had them both in sept. and that they are typically given in the ass; BUT my doctor ordered another 2 shot course of them and I have an hour drive home. STFU about 'we only give 1 course', give me the shot in my arm as he put on the order and let me get out of here.

@mforinger Its been 1hr 40 since I checked in, and still no shot. This is ridiculous, and I'm getting worked up enough over it+not having eaten lunch yet that I'm having mini contrax. Either admit me, give me food, and let/make this kid an outside kid or let me go home.

I'd like to throat punch whoever designed bathroom stall doors that open inwards. They're like lobster traps: I can always manage to let myself in, but getting out, especially with this bump, is a near-impossible feat that involves a small amount of swearing.

Can I throat punch a whole company? I'd narrow it down to just a person or 2, but I'm not sure who to blame. DH called me at 4 to let me know he was headed home. I didn't think much of it, because about every other week or so, he is scheduled to leave 2 hours early.

He comes home, and tells me that he was just let go. No notice, no heads up, nada. We are losing our insurance, our biggest income (he made $68k/yr, compared to my $5k/yr), and I have no clue what we're going to do. The worst part is, we just basically drained our savings to when I lost my job from June-October. I'm so stressed out. Mainly though, I feel so bad for him. He is ashamed and crying, saying he's a failure and he let his family down.

@Mamax2 Yes. Yes, you may. That sounds like a horrible situation. I'm so, so sorry you're having to go through this so close to the end. Here's hoping YH finds something better than that stupid place. ***HUGS***

@Mamax2 I am so sorry. I lost my job earlier in the pregnancy as the breadwinner and I was so upset and scared. He will find something!! Your family will be in my thoughts.

@Mamax2 I'm so sorry that this happened to you guys. Your DH is not a failure, and will find another job that will be better suited to life with a newborn. Good Luck comforting him, and helping him understand that it most likely had absolutely nothing to do with him.

@mamax2 so sorry!! I can't imagine the stress you're going through this late in pregnancy. If it helps, my husband quit/was let go from his job about three month ago and it turned out to be a blessing. He's now in a much better position with more money and loves his job. FX that everything works out for your family!

@Mamax2- I want to throat punch your DH's company for you! What a jerk move knowing that you are expecting a child! Grrr! But if that is how they treat their employees, that is not someone worth working for. I hope your DH finds a much better company soon.

Also, I don't know when your employee insurance ends, but if you are worried about coverage, the Healthcare Marketplace is starting open enrollment this Tuesday, November 1st. DH and I are being kicked off of our insurance on December 31st this year, so I've been scanning the new plans this afternoon. The website is very easy to use, and if you sign up for a marketplace plan, I believe you can cancel it without penalty if your DH gets a new job that offers insurance. The insurance stuff can feel completely overwhelming at first, but it's not so bad once you start looking through it. Don't research it tonight while you're still reeling though! Give yourself a few days so you can look at it with a clear head. Good luck to you! I'll definitely be thinking about you!

@mamax2 I'll be praying for your family and that he finds something else soon. I hope your husband is able to absolutely understand that he is not a failure, he did not choose this, and that there's nothing he could have done to prevent it. Sometimes it's really hard on those that are the family's provider, especially when things go amiss, but this isn't his fault. Here's praying that God has something for him bigger and better on the other side of this.

Thank you all for your uplifting comments and support. They mean the world to me right now. I think I'm just bafgled how they handled this. He was with the company for a little over 14 years. I'm trying not to get too over stressed, and cause my BP to rise.

@karmba I'm not certain how long he gets to keep the insurance. He was told that someone from HR, and well as the regional VP will be calling him tomorrow with any details. He said his regional manager mentioned today possibly being eligible for Cobra. I hope to have more final details tomorrow .

@Mamax2 That is the absolute worst! *hugs* Praying for you and your DH, my FI was laid off from his job not long ago and thankfully found another one very quickly. He's the breadwinner so I know how stressful it is to have that happen, and with a new baby on the way, of all the times it possibly could have happened.

My throat punching is a first world petty problem - I hate the manicure I got yesterday. But I wasn't in a confrontational mood when the tech finished, so I just accepted it. But every time I look at my nails, I get more and more upset. I spent $35 on a shellac manicure. She shaped my nails and applied the polish - that was it. No massage, no cuticle treatment, no taking care of hangnails. AND, she didn't even paint the full nail or do even coats. There is a normal colored edging along the sides of the nail and those aren't painted even. Now I am confrontational and want it fixed, but I leave immediately after work to go away for the weekend and don't have time to go make them re-do it. I have a pedicure scheduled for Monday (at a different location) with my girlfriend that is coming to town to visit, so I guess we will also be getting manicures too so I can get this taken care of. I guess lesson learned to not go to that salon anymore.

So, I thought I'd post an update. After making known to his regional manager yesterday that he was going to have to go to the unemployment office, DH received a phone call today from his former company. He was offered a severance package. We will have insurance paid by said company until Monday. After that, the coverage will continue, with us having to pay 100% monthly premium out of pocket. Effective mid November, DH will receive severance pay, at 100% of what he was making weekly, for 4 weeks.

I'm so glad that DH stood up yesterday and made known that the company would be receiving unemployment papers from Dept of Labor. I feel like it may have pushed the company , and possibly lead to him getting the severance offer. While it still sucks that he lost his job, at least we aren't completely stuck without any pay until he gets a new job. We still don't know exactly how much we will have to pay for insurance , but it's a huge relief to know that we won't have to start a new plan, deductible , etc, so close to birth.

Thank you all again for your thoughts, prayers, and kind, encouraging words. This is such a great, supportive group, and I'm so happy to be a part of it!
