Wanted to thank all of you for a fun couple of months on tb. I got the results from my 2nd ultrasound back today......non-viable pregnancy

sacs are still there but no further development or a heartbeart (only new growth is apparently a big clot). Probably will be sent by drs for one last ultrasound next week to be 100% sure, then I will in all likliness be in need of a d&c since it has been 2 weeks and i have not miscarried it naturally (and had only 1 day of bleeding 2 weeks ago). Really would prefer to do the process naturally as I've heard d&c's can leave scar tissue, but I might not have much of a choice. This is my 2nd miscarriage in a row. My first one was natural and happened very quickly after bleeding had started........had been holding onto some hope this time since I still had symptoms (and the sacs), but guess that can happen with a missed m/c. We're hoping when we try again, 3rd time will be a charm and we'll get our rainbow baby. Wishing you all a happy and healthy pregnancy!

I'm so sorry.... please do whatever feels right for you. I had a D&C in March due to a MMC. I had no bleeding through out any of the pregnancy. Decided to go for the D&C since it would resolve the situation rather than waiting an undetermined time to miscarry especially since I had no bleeding at all and baby was gone for 4 weeks already. I had no complications with surgery.

I am sorry for your loss. If you are feeling up to it, ask your provider about the medical abortion pills. They can provide a more natural miscarriage in the comfort of your own home. Only concern is the rare case that tissue is left intact, at which point you would have to go back in for a D&C anyways. Whatever decision you make, my T&Ps are with you.

I'm sorry you have to go through this.
When I had my missed miscarriage at 8 weeks, I chose to take the medication Cytotec at home. I had some cramps and a lot of bleeding for a couple of hours. The follow up US showed a little bit of leftover tissue. The doctor said the tissue will come out with the next menstruation and it did. I felt more comfortable being at home and not having to go through a surgical procedure.
