The July 17 board is up! It's getting real, ladies.
Wow!! Some days it feels like this is taking forever. Others not so much!! Today is one of those flying by kinda days... seeing all the grown and growing bumps on HDBD made it kinda hit home today that we're basically half way!!
@NurseMama Ughhhh you're not helping my bank account ;o) Thanks for the insight! Did you find it weird having somebody snapping pics during labor or did you not really notice they were there?
@kjd291 I have not had the feeling that it's flying by yet. All I can think about is how freaking long 40 weeks is. It's felt like an eternity so far. I get depressed when I think about being only half way done. I don't mind being pregnant, but the anticipation of meeting my baby and getting the show on the road is killing me.
@kap1988 oh. I feel ya. Like i mentioned, it's day by day for me. I had a breakdown last week sobbing to DH about how I can't do this whole preggo thing for another 20weeks - I'm already uncomfortable and I'm not even huge yet. I'm betting that, for one, holiday season will help-Halloween is already here-Thanksgiving in 4weeks, Christmas is in 8, New Years to soon follow. Also - I only count to full term = 38 wks ! because baby can come anytime after that. And subtracting two whole weeks make a big difference in my mental sanity
honest opinions please: We are naming baby girl Scarlett.. Would it be cliche/lame/gag-inducing if her take home outfit was grey with red? To be fair,I'm just not a fan of pink or purple but I also don't want it to seem like we are those cheeky parents that are trying waaay to hard.

@kjd291 I'm so excited for the holidays to distract me!
Agreeed!!! Can't wait! I am normally a no Christmas anything till post thanksgiving... maybe it's just the hormones or the wanting pregnancy to pass by quickly... but I'm SO ready to start listening to music, decorating, shopping... I'm probably going to cave soon.
@EALasagna45 at first I almost chickened out calling here, but I'm so glad I did my labour was so fast and intense I could barely remember it so the pictures are great to have. She also become my support person when my husband fainted... I'm pretty sure she cut the cord haha
Random AF- I just let my dog out into the yard to potty and I heard him take off running like crazy and then a bunch of weird noises so I ran back to the door to check on it and there were 2 chickens in my yard! I should mention that we live in the middle of a fairly large town and none of our neighbors have any chickens that I know of. Our yard is also completely enclosed and my dog had been in it all day while we were at work. I have no freakin idea how the chickens got in our yard but only one made it out!
Oh my god that is not the ending I expected to read lol What a story! I think I'm going to bite the bullet and inquire with a photographer tonight. Thanks for the reassurance! @NurseMama
@kjd291 I caved a few weeks ago & have ONLY been listening to Christmas music since! I came super close to buying a big bright colorful Christmas wreath today at Sams Club but convinced myself the groceries were more important *sigh*

Good for you!! I think the only thing that's saving me from not caving yet is the only music that plays in my house lately is toddler sing alongs

I have a bone to pick with these companies that make maternity pants! I got some slim fit navy blue pants and flare jeans from Motherhood on Monday. It used to be where the panel is the same color as the pants, but now the panel is "nude". For the record, nude is NOT a universal color. Are they assuming that all women who are pregnant are fair skinned white women? They should've just left the panel the way it used to be damnit! I have to make sure I wear a shirt or sweater that covers where the panel starts because it looks absolutely ridiculous on me.
@Gators&BoSox I love that name!!! It has been on my top girl name list since I was a kid. I don't think anyone would think anything of her wearing red home
1. I am the opposite: my skin is as white as white can be and I hate colored panels!! 2. I am holding out on Christmas music until november, then all bets are off!!
@kiyamurph I'm pale but I still hate when the panel is nude instead of matching the color of the pants. I have a pair of gray maternity pants that I would love to wear way more often than I have been, but the gray swoops so low that I need to wear reeeeeally long shirts to not show the nude part. It's annoying!

@kiyamurph THIS. And also, most pregnancy shirts are longer, like an unflattering length. The bottom of the shirt hits right at the widest part of my hips/thigh. I've been avoiding wearing them and am sticking to my pre-preg shirt/tops which means that the panel is hanging out. When it's nude, from the back it looks like my ass is hanging out and I'm missing a buttcrack! From the front, well...
So, in the last week or so, my dog all the sudden does NOT want to be around me when my husband gets home. She'll hang out near me but as soon as there's another option she's gone. She was always "my" dog, and it's making me sad she's not laying with anymore. Idk if she can feel the baby kicking and it freaks her out? Or if she can hear it in there or something, but I'm for the first time ever missing her neediness. Side note, is this what it's like when kids get older?! I'm worried now im going to turn into the Mom from the Goldbergs, haha.
@npaulie my dog is like this, she loves me but as soon as my husband is home she is all over him, she even gets jealous if he gives attention to me or my daughter and wants to be right in the middle of hugs and stuff.
@npaulie I have to opposite problem with our cat! She can't seem to get enough of me! It gets kind of annoying after awhile, especially since she loves to lay/sleep on my legs, and I have to get up often to pee/eat. Animals are weird!

I used to go through a TON of chewing gum every single day and now ever since I got pregnant I just haven't wanted any at all... has anyone else experienced any aversions toward gum?
@serenity13 I had an aversion to mint gum in the first tri, it made me nauseous...so I chewed bubble gum flavor. Now I can tolerate mint again but I still don't like it as much as I did....I usually spit it out after a few minutes.

The length thing gets better as you get rounder I have a short torso and I always get annoyed by the length of shirts.
I dl not understand the logic behind some threads being closed "for a shift in topic" and others staying open. Is it just if it gets reports or the op contacts admin that they feel uncomfortable? Some posts on other boards get downright nasty and they stay open. Some threads are totally innocuous and constructive and get closed. What's the rule about a shift in topic?

My pup has been the same way! He always favored my husband until I became pregnant, now me and baby belly are his favorite! He keeps climbing all the way onto my lap for cuddles and he is a 110lb lab! He is so dang cute I hate to push him off when I have to get up Here he is snuggling the bump!
@longliveregina Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. My guess is that it got reported or something? Because none of the other threads get locked. Also... they go lock that one.. but then they kept that registry party thread at the top up forever? (I think it's still there... too lazy to hit back and look) Doesn't really make sense.
