Re: Weekly Symptoms Check in - 10/24/2016

  • Today is my ticker change day! 35 weeks! And things are finally starting to happen. I had *TMI* diarrhea yesterday, and instead of the regular super constipated poop every 2-3 days, it's been regular and not constipated. Leaky colostrum has really picked up, especially at night. Can't wear the same shirt twice, but I don't want to sleep with a bra and nursing pads :'(

The braxton hicks are so strong/frequent they wake me up (it just feels like I'm cuddling with a large rock, which is not comfortable and makes my front side achy). Rolling over or getting up makes them worse. Basically every time I get up to pee I get one. But again they don't happen nearly as much in the day!! Needless to say, I am sleeping less. ZzzZzz monday ugh ZzzZzz

  • I have every urge to simply get on my hands and knees and crawl through this week. My sciatica is the worst it's ever been...

  • So very light headed! I try to get up and walk because I feel better if I just keep moving, but then I feel like passing out.
  • I feel like I'm in a bit of a fog this morning. Kinda like when you've been taking cough syrup for a couple days. Don't know where that came from since I haven't taken anything lately.

Also, the back pain is damn near unbearable!! I'm having to rely more and more on DH to help me with simple things like getting out of the recliner or sitting up in bed. This is taking a huge emotional toll on me as well. Only a few day to go till baby.

Same! I'm having trouble staying on my feet for more than 30 mins at a time. (at 35+5.)

I've had such an uneventful pregnancy, it's been enjoyable — so I'm having a rough time with the sudden onslaught of discomfort. 4 weeks and counting!

I'm 34+5. If this continues, working up to my c-section is not going to be easy.
  • Did you have this with any of your other pregnancies? I just got this last week and I can barely walk. I limp everywhere. Does it go away after giving birth?

  • 35+2 and I was over here relieved that I did not have heartburn. Well it finally kicked in with a vengeance yesterday after dinner and I had so much discomfort it made it difficult to sleep. I'm at work feeling like a zombie afraid to eat anything that will make it worst. Same issues with my tummy and frequent bowels agh!

38 weeks tomorrow and I'm ready for this little man to get the show on the road! Feel like someone kicked me in the vag - a lot. Plus cramping and a general feeling like I'm starting a heavy flow period, but obviously I'm not. I'm so emotional I dread anything that might possibly bring a tear because I'll probably cry for an hour. Also I have an urge to 'nest,' but zero energy to do anything about it.
  • "Urge to nest but zero energy to do anything about it".. this is me!!! Today.. I need to sweep.. instead napped for 3 hours.

This is exactly me. My back is so crampy, just like period cramps. So uncomfortable!
  • My activity level for long periods of time time gives me some painful BH and back pain.
And I echo the cuddling with a rock feeling, @PrettyPalomino.
  • anyone feel heartburn down low? I've been feeling off all morning and finally realized maybe it was heart burn, but it feels like it is just above my belly button, not in a normal heartburn spot?

Anyone else dealing with "lightning crotch" (or "lightening" crotch - from baby's head dropping into position)? It comes and goes as she moves around, today it was almost unbearable and I came close to calling in sick. I can barely walk/stand up straight when it's happening, shooting pains in the crotch area that are accompanied with a ton of pressure... please tell me this doesn't just keep going until I deliver...

ETA: nvm about barely walking, it stops me in my tracks and I cannot walk while it happens!

  • @PrettyPalomino I've been warned about it from co-workers who had babies this year but I haven't experienced it  yet
  • @PrettyPalomino I came into this thread to write about my lightening crotch! The mere thought of standing from sitting makes me cringe. I never understood what it meant when people said they felt like the baby would fall out if he/she dropped any lower, but now I do! Baby girl is making good acquaintances with my pelvic bone and I'm hoping it bodes well for these next few weeks and for labor!

Someone mentioned to me that my girl is on in the wrong side of my belly, making me more prone to a posterior delivery, which is something that scares me (I'm terrified to tear forward!!) but I read some information on Spinning Babies about how most babies flip to supine in labor and the way it was explained was so encouraging and nonchalant that I'm trying to focus on that. I'm a way, having no basis about what labor was like was good last time, this time there are still all the unknowns about what THIS labor and birth will be like with the added pressure of knowing how nice a birth can be and not meeting that same expectation. I'm probably over thinking the whole thing, and if any of you ladies know how to get my mind off of this huge/exciting/terrifying/amazing thing that's about to happen, I'll happily take your suggestions!

I thought I was crazy the first time it happened to me. When the doctor was all "Oh, it's totally normal," my responses was "Seriously?"
  • 38 weeks today! Weekly appointment is tomorrow! Back pain is starting to be pretty bad! Sleeping is becoming less and less with breathing becoming difficult. Sometimes I swear it feels like the baby is already trying to crawl out, the pressure is crazy at points. Ready for this baby to make their appearance!!
  • Yes to the lightning crotch pains. For me it often happens when I'm sitting, but it's pretty horrible and tough because you can't really do anything to get away from it!
