@ashleaf2018 I second the Zantac150, it's the only thing that lets me lie down without feeling with there's acid burning a hole in my chest. I supplement that with Gaviscon and Tums when needed. I hope you get some relief.
@PensiveCrayon I hope you get some rest and a bit of time to enjoy Berlin! I was there in my second tri; it's an amazing city!
@Austenista I hope your day got better. I think we all have those moments of feeling down. Hugs
We did not have a good night. I forgot to take my meds before going to sleep and I think it threw us off. She's been having a major dance party since about 330 a.m. and I keep having these waves of being starvin' marvin'. Gonna be a loooonnnnnggggg day folks.
Guess it's not MOTN but I was up at 5 and it's not looking like I'll get back to sleep. Made a breakfast pizza for DH to take to work for a potluck....which isn't a terrible reason to get up that early, but I barely slept and my oven is broken! Outside manning the GRILL at 5:30am is not my ideal morning but DH forgot to change what he was bringing.
DH is gone for the weekend and being home alone is NOT sitting well with me....I think I'll have to go to my parents tomorrow cuz this anxiety can't be good for me/babies... bleh
@toller I hate when DH has to stay overnight. When I lived closer to my family I used to have my little sister spend the night and I just took her to school or whatever she had to do the next day. I can completely commiserate.
As for me? Ugh. Why can't I sleep in? I get up every day with DH when he gets ready for work and make/have breakfast with him. I have no reason to be awake and yet 5:30am eyes pop open every time.
Between general pregnancy insomnia, the caffeinated diet coke I had with lunch and dinner, and trying to re-sleep train my 4 year old, I'm only just now feeling like winding down and getting some sleep. Of course, DH will be up in about 3 hours to go work out with his friend, which invariably wakes me up, so I'm half inclined to just give up for the night. Some sleep is better than none, right?
Awe, hang in there ladies. You're doing a great job. You have so much to look forward to.
To those who don't like being alone overnight, I feel you! I think it is totally reasonable to make arrangements to stay with friends/family when dh is out of town. Pregnancy is a nerve-wracking time and looking back I wish I had not worried as much and cut myself more slack. Sweet dreams everyone.

It's 4:30 and I've been up since 3 with a ridiculous amount of energy (usually I am not a morning person at all). My energy level has sky rocketed over the past couple days but have still been my usually groggy self when I wake up until today. Alarm doesn't go off for another 2 hours but I can't lay in bed. I just feel like I need to do stuff. Trying to be quiet so I don't wake DH. So I'm Patiently writing this until DH wakes up for work in 20 minutes and then I can hopefully burn off some of this energy. I think this might be a good time to put away all the beautiful shower gifts I got Sunday. They are all sitting in the nursery and it's driving me crazy because I was almost done with the decorating and wanted to take a picture to show everyone.
Omgosh I stayed awake ALLLL night. Of course not by choice. Went to bed around 9 bc I literally couldn't keep my eyes open and somehow was awake every hour. Peeing. Tossing. Turning. Sweating. Back aching. Got up at 3am and decided to shower bc "maybe it will relax me" I'm a damn idiot. Showered, did laundry, put the dogs out, loaded/ran the dishwasher. Laid in bed again from 4:30 til my alarm at 6:00. This is gonna be an awesome work day! My body literally feels like death. Just call me sloth.
I've been waking up around 3 every morning ready to go! But I just toss and turn for an hour or two before I fall asleep again. I've been avoiding bumping in the hopes that I'll fall back asleep. It's no fun trying to be functional when you don't have enough sleep.
It's 3:30 and I woke up half an hour ago to the same feeling I was feeling all night. Severe nausea, feeling like I need to poop but can't, period like back ache, and i think BH. We were timing the BH earlier but it got to the point where I couldn't feel tightening unless I had my hand on the belly so I gave up the timing. Been contemplating calling L&D since 7pm. I'm a very stubborn person and keep just waiting it out because I don't just want to be sent home or go for no reason. Especially because I have an event I need to set up and run tomorrow- Saturday at work (it runs longer but that's my last day of work). Ugh the dilemmas
Fire alarm went off about an hour after we fell asleep last night. Like full blaring alarm that turned itself off after a few seconds. No idea why. Searched the house and no sign of any smoke or anything. But then it took me forever to fall back asleep cause I kept worry our house was burning down.

The same exact thing happened with our smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector at our house right at Midnight. I had been asleep for almosy 2 hrs, and BAM! Scared me so much.
SHoot - I just woke up almost on my back. Baby girl was in a weird position.... really high, seemingly transverse - and I thought I hadn't felt her as much. So I start freaking myself out and decide to get up and see what comes with some ice water. It took a bit but I did get a kick response so I took a breath. But now I'm awake...
@slartybartfast I'm sure that's why you woke up (being on your back)- for the most part I think you will feel the effects long before it would ever affect baby!
Bummer about being awake!!!! ( have no idea why I'm up boo)
@slartybartfast, glad baby cooperated and moved for you to help put your mind at ease.
I'm awake again for no apparent reason...though perhaps the frequent bathroom trips or falling to sleep at 9:00 last night have something to do with it. I probably should try to do something productive...
@slartybartfast I wake up at night for this same reason, and usually while LO is super willing to wriggle at night, obnoxiously, while I attempt sleep, she almost never cooperates immediately when I am worried she's not moving after waking up on my back! Super frustrating, glad you got some cooperation!
My FFFC was going to be that I'm still waking up on my back most mornings! And then I turn over to my left side for a bit and baby girl starts moving around like crazy for a while and I feel better
Hi everyone! I've been up since 3:30 am, no reason, it happens a lot but usually I can get back to sleep within an hour. Not today, it's been 2. Dh and DDs are out of town and my house is unnaturally quiet. I'm so sleep though, but I'm also congested and feeling hungry. Plus I can't turn my brain off. And my hand keeps going numb.
@swhiddon33 good job sticking with the pumping! No matter how fancy the pump, it's something the majority of moms dread. I know I did. The things mom's do, they're pretty dang impressive.
I had a dream that one of the senior advisors at my company stopped by my office and pointed out there was too much turnover and we were having too much trouble staffing projects (both true in real life). It woke me right up at 4:00. Now I'm laying here stressing about work.
@kbduke I thought a new medication was making me choke, but after discontinuing it....nope, it's reflux. DH gets super scared and wakes up periodically to make sure I'm alive after choking spells. Terrible!! I'm on nexium, zantac, and periodic gulps of gaviscon now and it's getting better.
@aevan011 It's scary especially if you've never experienced it before. My doctor prescribed Reglan yesterday and so far I have had zero reflux since taking it. Hallelujah!
