@saralee797 Congrats on the gormet sex! I feel the same way, its been 10 months of trying for us too, so I often refer to better sex as "can we have anniversary sex tonight?"! Glad I'm not alone with that!

@Dinosaur this is just an observation from being on these boards for a while but I feel like a million days of flashy happens to a lot of people. I think it gives people false hope that O is right around the corner and a lot of times it's not. I would ditch that OPK and switch to something else.
@lund I can't take credit for the term I think it was from the Great Sperm Race but I loved it so I told it!
@dmt929 I am right there with you - I had gotten way too hopeful this past cycle, and yesterday (CD1) was really rough. CS/Q: I apologize if this has been asked before (I didn't see a specific answer when I searched), but what are some thoughts on OPK use? On one hand, I LOVE data/stats and want all the science, but on the other, I have been blessed/cursed with the sex drive of a 16-year-old boy and we pretty much HIO EOD no matter what. Is there a benefit of OPKs that I'm missing? If I do get them, does someone have a reliable link to the "real" Wondfos on Amazon? I've seen stories of fakes, and I'm nervous!
GTKY: What story does your family always tell about you? They have a lot, but this is probably my favorite: First off, I have a bunch of siblings, but the older ones are 10, 12 and 14 years older, so I learned a LOT of, um, "choice" words at a very young age. So I'm 2 years old, chatting away in the shopping cart at the grocery store with my mom. A blue-haired little old lady comes up and says "my, my, my, you talk so well for such a little thing!" Apparently I looked right up at her with a smile on my face and said "Yup, but I'm not allowed to say f*$%, s(*%, or d#@^!!" My mom wanted to die. And apparently my teen siblings got a lecture in language when we got home!
@dinosaur I had 16 days of flashing smileys... SIXTEEN before I did like @Saralee797 said and ditched those for my tried and true wondfos. FWIW I started taking them on CD10 and didn't O until CD32 so who knows if I would have continued getting flashing ones (likely) or if I ever would have gotten a solid smiley. It definitely gave me false hope that I was about to O. We were burned out on HIO ED by the time I actually did O.
@motherhubbard19 I use a CVS basil therm. We use pre-seed like any lube but you can also insert before sex. You can buy it at most drugstores and Amazon.
@Dinosaur Are you using the CB advanced digital OPK or the montior? I used the CB advanced OPK's one cycle and got blinking smileys for 2 weeks. The blinking is detecting estrogen rise and then you get a solid with the LH rise (which is what you are looking for). My RE advised I stick to the regular OPK's that only track LH so I wouldn't get confused.

@lulu1180 Soooo, funny story about holy water. I went to a catholic high school, and one of my teachers went around blessing the class with holy water that was supposed to be from the Jordan River. I happen to have very sensitive skin, and something irritated my face so I ended up with this big red blotch where she "blessed" me. I am pretty sure she must have thought I was evil or something. So maybe it would be a good idea for me to keep holy water away from my pelvic region
GTKY: What story does your family always tell about you? When I was really little, someone (I think it may have been my aunt) made a mask out of a cabbage leaf thinking I would find it amusing. However, they were very wrong, and I apparently found it terrifying, which everyone else then found amusing. So they decided to try to keep this cabbage mask for as long as possible, leaving it in random places so that I would find it. They all still crack up about this over 20 years later, and I still am not amused...

GTKY: What story does your family always tell about you? My dad loves to tell the story of when I was about 2 my Grandma let me cut my own piece of cake, and of course I cut one way bigger than what I could eat. My Grandma never wasted food, so she put what I didn't finish in the fridge and later when I said I was hungry made me eat the cake again. According to my Dad I ate on that piece of cake for 3 days. He's says that for along time after that if my Grandma asked me if I was hungry, I would refuse to eat.

@hartmich My mom went into labor with me and my twin right before her baby shower. We were almost a month early. @SaphireSweetie I also scraped my old car on the garage. It's concrete block, so it took some pain off my front bumper as I was backing out. In my defense, the garage is so small that I can't fully open my car doors on either side without holding them so that they don't hit the wall. I go to a back up camera after that! PS we HAVE to move before having a kid in a car seat!

@leilac It does not look like you O'd based on your chart. Keep in mind a peak reading only means you will likely O within 24-36 hours. My guess is that O is imminent. I would definitely keep charting. You don't have to be perfect at it. Basically, you are looking for the big picture/ trends in your temps so not every temp matters so to speak. Good luck!
ETA: I usually get two days of peak or positive and then I O one to two days after that.
@motherhubbard19 I just bought my preseed at Target last night. It was a whole $3 cheaper than amazon

WAYDTGKU: Oh holy crap. I don't think I can even list all the supplements anymore because my herbalist is throwing everything under the sun at my old eggs to try and improve their quality. Seriously, I have procured a small, 10 space silicone ice cube tray with a lid to separate out what I take with breakfast and lunch each of the 5 days I'm at work...and another one for dinner at home. Also, charting, PNV, fertility acupuncture, green and RRL tea, Mucinex and OPKs starting on CD9, and Pre-Seed. I'm also considering the holy water a couple of you have mentioned.
R/R: First, I was correct to write off my last cycle. Vacation was fun, but I missed a critical day of temping when we took the red eye across the country, and I'm not even positive which day I O'd, and it was just not our month.
So some of you may remember the debacle OH and I had a couple of weeks ago while getting the "sample" for his SA for his urologist. Long story short, some of it overshot the cup, and it was my fault.
Well, my RE/IVF doc wanted his own sample, so we went to his office on Tuesday when we got back from vacation, and went through the whole thing again (my participation was a condition of OH's cooperation). The room was small, the chair was uncomfortable, and the whole thing just sucked (although not in the good way, which could've been helpful, LOL). It took us like 40 minutes. But! We were successful, and didn't lose a drop. I mention this all mostly because it's funny and I can't tell anyone else, but also because we got the results back today. Everything came back AWESOME. I'm so freaking relieved because so far, all test results have been either meh or just plain bad. Also, OH is now strutting like a peacock, which really works for TTC...especially since he has low T and may have to go on replacement therapy, which essentially renders him infertile. We're looking to get a second opinion, to see if he can go on alternative Clomid therapy, but his urologist thinks that won't work in his case. So, we may be looking at freezing his swimmers, and I'm glad to know they are at least in good shape, and that he'll willingly preserve his, um, legacy.
CS/Q: Nope
GTKY: I know there are a bunch, but the one that springs to mind is that they love to remind me of how prone I am to sneezing and farting at the same time. Which is super fun, BTW.

CS/Q: None today
GTKY: What story does your family always tell about you? My dad loves to tell the story of when I was about 2 my Grandma let me cut my own piece of cake, and of course I cut one way bigger than what I could eat. My Grandma never wasted food, so she put what I didn't finish in the fridge and later when I said I was hungry made me eat the cake again. According to my Dad I ate on that piece of cake for 3 days. He's says that for along time after that if my Grandma asked me if I was hungry, I would refuse to eat.

@motherhubbard19 Target carries preseed. I the mabis is the popular BBT thermometer around here. I ordered mine on Amazon because it was easier than trying to track one down in town.

@motherhubbard19 - Not sure if your question about the Preseed or thermometer were answered but Preseed is a lube that helps the sperm and isn't potentially harmful to them like saliva or other lubes can be. As for the thermometer, like PP have said, the Mabis one is preferred. Here is a link for the Preseed and thermometer from Amazon:

CS/Q: so I had a temp spike yesterday which I think was from the time zone change cause it was really high. I discarded a temp on CD 12 because I was sick and it was abnormally high. Anyways if I put a high temp in for tomorrow I get solid CHs on CD 14 but I'm not sold because I temped with a 3 hour time change and FF said the first day of time change will be an inaccurate temp. Do I discard it and see what the next few days of temps look like? I also got a positive OPK on cd 14
