Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I work in IT and my husband is a writer. No kids but we are the proud pet parents of a black lab (2) and cat (1). I love reading (so when I learnt about TCOYF on the TTGP guide, I immediately bought and read it). I also enjoy hiking, exercising and watching tv.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I was recently married in July and my partner and I have started TTC for 2 months now. I'm a social worker and my DH is a journalist. We have the sweetest 2.5 year old cocker spaniel named Louie. This is VERY new to me as I've never TTC before! I'm nervous, impatient, eager and very excited! Hoping to learn some things and meet some great people!
@darkrose88 It is definitely appreciated that you already read TCOYF!
@MrsR130 I guess I should say welcome back! Glad everything got sorted out and you are able to TTC again!
@KatieScrine You're in good company, many of the ladies on here are also trying for their first (myself included) and it is definitely all very confusing.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I work quite a bit, so sadly I don't have as many hobbies as I used to. My husband is in dentistry. We've been together for 10 years, married for 4 of them. We like to go out to eat, travel, and watch TV/Movies. I was an avid runner and into intense work out programs like Insanity before I started my current training program. My job isn't particularly open to pregnancy, so this forum will be my main source of support while TTC. It's great to meet you all!

I'm 30 and my husband is 28. We have two beautiful babies (always babies to me!) my son is 4 and my daughter is just over 1.
We just decided this month that we would be ok with another baby, meaning we are NTNP a pregnancy. We are using the rhythm method to find my fertile days and we stopped using protection. We got pregnant with my son on the first try, but we didn't with my daughter. I spent many cycles on the tww driving myself insane and the getting so upset to see my bfn. We are taking a more casual approach this time.
My husband is a drafting engineer and I am the operations director for a behavior therapy clinic. We are both finishing up school so I'm trying to time it just right to have a baby after I graduate lol. I love to spend any spare moment I have crafting and organizing!
Hi all! I've been lurking for a long time and I'm excited to join this community!! I finally have allowed myself to post since I just ordered TCOYF on amazon and a BBT to start temping next month! You guys seem like an amazing community of women so I am looking forward to this journey with you!!!

How many months have you been TTC? 8 months (with a few breaks due to work travel and one big unfortunately timed fight in july
)
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? PNV, OPK, CM, BD
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) DH and I have an adorable 16 month old son who is hilarious and the best. I desperately want him to have a sibling! I was incredibly lucky and got pregnant the first month trying with him, so this has taken a little bit longer than expected... though I know 8 months isnt that long in the grand scheme of things. I love celebrity gossip, black coffee, purchasing lots of athleisure but rarely working out and really bad reality tv. I'm also really bad at housework and cooking, so I'm a real catch haha. Excited to get to know everyone!!!
@hellohello570 Welcome! Having trouble figuring out how to change your user name will not lose you any points but lurking AND picking up a copy of TCOYF will certainly win you extra points with everyone here! We sincerely hope that your stay here is short and I think you will fit in with these ladies fantastically!

TW and children mentioned
We unfortunately suffered two losses in our journey and I was diagnosed with MTHFR blood mutation that can affect fertility.
Right now our plan is to come off of bcp and begin tracking and temping. We'd ideally like to have more space in between children, but we could be looking at another long road ahead. We do have 1 frozen embryo waiting in case we are unable to do it naturally.
I look forward to learning from you ladies and wish you all luck!
Also, please be sure to read the newbie guide pinned at the top of the board as it has a lot of great information if you will be a regular participant on the board.

I did read the newbie guide and had a long, dramatic intro written complete with warnings and then tried to cut it down. It has been added now.
Hello, I'm not totally new here (was here about a month from July 10-August 10), but I am unfortunately back from April 2017. Learned so much about ttc from here last time and find lurking beneficial.
Ages (you and SO): Me 39 & DH 41.5
How many months have you been TTC? Not sure how to answer this now, started in June after wedding (1), July (2), got BFP early August (3) and September (4), then loss at the beginning of this month...so...5/1 ttcal? (Do I just count the months that I was pregnant since it wasn't successful?). This is my first cycle AL (no AF yet so not really supposed to be "trying"...but our ages...)
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? The doctor's office didn't care to track my levels down at all and just told me to wait till after AF to try again. But since I'm kind of neurotic and like to know what's going on if I can, I used HPTs a week and two weeks after loss (the only time anyone wants to see a negative), started using OPKs starting CD10, temped immediately after loss once I got home to my BBT (loss was out of town at my parents - didn't think I'd have any reason to temp when I left home). Otherwise PNVs, fish oil, ubiquinol, magnesium (take for leg cramps anyway), started on low dose aspirin for kicks, green tea while WTO.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) DH and I got married in June and are ttc #1. I'm a financial analyst by day but enjoy dancing, skiing, flying (though it's been a while with the wedding planning then first tri exhaustion), and (warm water on vacation only) diving. FH works in business development and enjoys running, cycling, reading, golfing, and generally learning things and being outdoors. Planning on a fur baby once we get to move into a place with a yard some time in December (seller will *finally* be out next month!).

@artemis618 I am so sorry you are going through a loss. I hope you find comfort in this community, I know I have! As far as counting months and cycles I think you should just do what makes sense for you. I always put 7/1 ttcal. I count the time I was pregnant because it wasn't successful. I don't count my first post loss cycle as a cycle because I didn't ovulate. I hope your stay here is short. Welcome!
@artemis618 I remember you and am sorry to hear about your recent loss. I completely agree with @mrs35 that in terms of months/cycles trying, you should put whatever feels right for you and what you're most comfortable with. At the end of the day if whatever number you choose to go with makes sense to you, that's ultimately what matters. I don't think there's a "wrong" way to approach it. Welcome back and I hope your stay here is short.
I have been a bump member for a little while, but not really all that active. I am joining back today, with a bit of anxiety, but looking forward to the journey.
Honestly, I feel like an idiot today. I have been off birth control for about 2 weeks and still no period. So, I don't know anything about my cycles, but have started using OPKs. Well, on Thursday and Friday, I got clear negative OPKs. We are technically NTNP at the moment and plan to actively TTC in November or December (undecided). We decided to have sex on Friday and did not pull out. On Saturday morning and afternoon, I got two very clear positive OPKs. So not sure if I will ovulate, but I guess I will be POAS in two weeks. We would be excited either way, but definitely sooner than anticipated.
Ages (you and SO): 29 and 30

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Taking prenatals and trying to learn how to use OPKs.

Hi everyone, I've been lurking on the TWW thread. I'm usually bumping on my phone so I'm kind of bad at the whole socializing commenting part but I really enjoy reading and am grateful you guys are here! It's a much-needed outlet since someone close to me is TTC for the first time and I'm just in a Happy Little Accident-type situation. Maybe. Anyway.
Ages (you and SO): I'm 28 and my partner is 27
How many months have you been TTC? Just this month. I have a lot of fears about getting pregnant again (pretty bad PPD/A as well as bad depression during the pregnancy itself). We want a sibling for our 14 month old but we're both a little too nervous to pull the trigger. So I guess NTNP, but we're hoping it happened.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? lots of unprotected sex? I know, simple answer. I'm pretty confident about being able to tell when I ovulate so I think the timing was spot on for baby making (-5, -3, -2, -1, 0, +1), give or take a day. For our DD we got pregnant on the first try, so this is kind of just us rolling the dice and seeing if it worked. Otherwise I don't think we'll continue to try (but we haven't closed the door... I might be back in November).
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I'm a SAHM for our 14 month DD and I love it. We also have an enormous 11 year old boxer (88lbs) whom I've had since she was born. Pretty nerdy, love Star Trek and almost anything sci fi, as well as social justice issues and almost anything arts and crafts (sewing, painting, cross stitch). I also like old school RTS games like Star Craft.
@wabash15, I'm sorry you've ended up back at your RE again. That's my second main fear of trying this process all over again (the first being another mc). I know no matter what, we will end up doing another frozen transfer as we still have one embryo left, but I just want my body to do it once on its own.
I hope it goes smoothly and quickly for you.
