Daycare question...not sure what this is?

My husband went to pick our baby up at daycare today and we LOVE this place. We have been extremely happy with it, but when he picked up Zachary today, he said that his arms had these plush toys on them and his arms were slightly lifted. Another boy had the same thing, but a few more. He said it appeared as if they were training him to lift his arms?? Has anyone ever heard of this? He said it looked like plush rings that were loosely around his arms but his arms were raised?

I have never heard of this and couldn't find it on Google. I can't even think of a reason. Unless it's simply another way to keep them from hitting themselves while they sleep? Like the merlin sleep suit but only on the arms?

That sounds strange, unless it's the rattles like PP said. Rattles are a way to help them find their hands and feet, maybe the daycare is trying to help with that?
