2) Upcoming Milestones/Appointments? Next ultrasound is on 10/18, and our shower is on 10/15!
3) Rants/Raves/Positives? I slept for a week! And that streak ended last night. Ugh. Mostly I'm just over being pregnant....thinking this will be my only pregnancy lol.
4) GTKY: What are you excited to do again post-pregnancy? Wine. Shave my legs without getting exhausted....doing anything without getting exhausted. Control when I pee
1) Who's in there? I'm waffling on names, so I don't know!
2) Upcoming Milestones/Appointments? Next growth ultrasound on 10/14. They are discordant, so the doctor is concerned, but I think the ultrasound will give me peace of mind to know they are both okay and growing.
3) Rants/Raves/Positives? Just trying to stay healthy and stress free (easier said than done) so that my doctor doesn't get worried and put me on bed rest.
4) GTKY: What are you excited to do again post-pregnancy? @brittnic86yes, shave! And not necessarily my legs, but... you know! I can't even see it anymore. And "playing" with DH and not feeling like my huge belly is getting in the way! And MIMOSAS!
2) Upcoming Milestones/Appointments? GTT and Growth Ultrasound on thursday. I have to remember to ask on frequency of appointments for the rest of the pregnancy (I knew at one point, but now have forgotten!) and also what is the longest that they will let me go to.....
3) Rants/Raves/Positives? I just want to stop waking up for the day at 330 am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also if I sit for too long, when I get up I walk with a limp cuz my hip hurts- makes me feel old.....
4) GTKY: What are you excited to do again post-pregnancy? Wine, whatever food I want, my body back ( well, sans boobs).
@toller I have appointments at 32 weeks, 34 weeks, 36 weeks, 37 weeks, and 38 weeks. My doctor said that I should plan on 38 weeks....and that sometimes if the placentas are still functioning, and babies are still growing, she'll let twins go to 39 weeks...but usually 38 weeks is the longest.
What your doc told you is what I'm hoping to hear as well... I'd love to go to 39 weeks but of COURSE that's Christmas Eve........I really don't want to miss Christmas morning with DD or necessarily be in the hospital on such a big holiday..... So I'm planning on going into spontaneous labor at 38+4
1) Who's in there? Names are still in the air, modi girls
2) Upcoming Milestones/Appointments? Fluid check next week, plus class 2/3 of our childbirth classes. 28 weeks Sunday!! That's the point where survival rates start sky rocketing so I'm excited to be there!
3) Rants/Raves/Positives? My hips are KILLING me, currently have a heating pad on one of them at 2:20am because I'll never sleep again....
4) GTKY: What are you excited to do again post-pregnancy? RUN! I was on pelvic bedrest / exercise restrictions for most of first tri and into second and when it was lifted I wasn't comfortable with running anymore. This fall weather has me itching to hit a trail except that's straight up impossible with this belly now. Also cider. My favorite mill only sells unpasteurized :'(
@Toller yours are didi? With modi I'll continue fornightly fluid checks and monthly growth scans until I think 30 weeks (or is it 32? I forget), then weekly NSTs and BPPs until we deliver by 36+6.
2) Upcoming Milestones/Appointments? We have set our C-Section date -- November 29th
3) Rants/Raves/Positive: Baby shower is tomorrow and finally getting bank loan closer to being finalized. Addition won't be done before babies come but at least it will be underway. Babies will be in bassinet in living room or unuse sister bedroom during the day until we get all of it done
4) GTKY: What are you excited to do again post-pregnancy? Just sit and not hurt. Pelvic pain is off the charts at this point.
I have ultrasound on 18th at 32 weeks and then I will go weekly starting November 1st and at each appt I will be hooked up for non stress test for at least 20 minutes
@Toller I wish. Even though I sit at a desk all day...I'm exhausted. I can't stop early. Right now I get 6 weeks maternity leave...that's it. If I roll into January I'm going to argue I get another 2 weeks medical leave for 2017. But I have currently 6 weeks, and 2.5 days....3.5 days if you include new years...I requested two days off for our baby moon, and to finish up any last minute baby stuff. My supervisor was giving me shit...saying I realize if I go into labor early, or my doctor puts restrictions on me, that six weeks is all I get and I'm due back when it's up. Um okay...wasn't going to take 6 weeks and 2 days for maternity leave....
@Amecsey I haven't had any internals and will likely refuse them anyway since I'm having a cesarian. If my water breaks, I'll have a quick cesarian. Any dialation?
@brittnic86 that really is shitty that your supervisor is being shitty- growing 2 people is ridiculously hard. I only work at a desk too, but it's almost worse cuz it's so hard to focus!!!
@Amecsey don't know here...not sure if I'll want them to check internally.... can they get enough info from an ultrasound measurement?
I also found out my doc starts twin mom's on weekly BPPs at 32 weeks (Which can be over an hour per appointment- not sure how that will fit into my work schedule!) Which seems early to me (was expecting 34 maybe since di/di).
@Toller weekly BPP for di/di twins sounds like a lot! I'm getting my care maxed out due to previous issues and Still not weekly biophysicals. I'd understand with mono/di, expect it with mono/mono but we're at such low risk of twin to twin transfusion and growth concerns as far as twins go. Please le us know what they say if you probe. If there's a good medical reason we should all be pushing for it!!
I had an hour long NST then a BPP last week because I mentioned a change in movement. The appointment was FOREVER.
@DiFazette okay- I'm glad you think that too!! I've sort of felt like my care has been all over the place and not even remotely "customized" to my situation, so I'll be having a chat with my doc to clarify everything. I'm happy to do it if there's need, but if all looks well...it just seems overkill for a no-issues di/di situation like you said.
No updated EDD for me, and not dilated at all, so that's good!. I am going in twice a week for NST's and AFI's (which measure fluid in sacs because they are discordant). I am not feeling too worried about it (they have a lot of fluid and strong heartbeats every time), trying to stay positive that these babes will stay in there. So ready for them to be healthy and out here, but so sad this is coming to an end.
@jazzminlee I am at a desk too and my tailbone hurts so bad. I do a few stretches when I get home which have seemed to help with the pain a little, but my dr says some tailbone pain/discomfort is normal during pregnancy.
@Toller I'll start working from home next month after my big audit is over (32 weeks) and my schedule will be lighter because my replacement for leave is already starting to slowly take over my duties
@brittnic86 your boss is such an asshole, I'm so sorry!
@Amecsey loooots of contractions over here but cervix is still long and closed tight as of today's fluid check
The doc has checked my cervix twice but both times I asked for it since I was having so much pressure. He says they don't check unless patient ask or they suspect labor. That's why they do the non stress test from my understand to make sure mom and babies are good and no contractions. I live an hour and half from hospital so I like all the checking.
I tried googling the difference between "cervical length" and "effacement" but am still a little confused- I wonder if they start calling it "effacement" in the 3rd tri??
@Toller Effacement is thinning of the cervix - not having anything to do with actual length. 'Long' refers to the length of your cervix, 'tight' refers to effacememt.
@Toller The thing is...all the matching outfits mostly came from my mom...who is just over the moon excited about her first grandbabies. Can't really do that lol. Honestly I was going through all the clothes yesterday...and good lord. I don't see how they could ever possibly wear EVERYTHING. I have 4 of those hanging IKEA organizers, which are pretty much full of nb/0-6 month clothes. Then I have a large storage container, overflowing, can't close the lid, of 12-18 month clothes, and another the same way of 6-9 month clothes, plus another large storage container of 6 month dresses and summer clothes. I'd say about 1/3 of everything is brand new, is from family, and falls into the 0-6 month range. The rest is gently used. About half of the clothes are 0-6 months, and 1/4 6-9, 1/4 12-18. I realize that a lot of times kids fit into larger sizes than what the tag says. I was just so overwhelmed going through all the clothes last night.
@brittnic86 haha- well, matching outfits it is then!! Clothes are tough (with all the varying sizes, etc) but I'm sure they'll get through a lot of them!!
@brittnic86 Eek, I'm sorry about the surgery (if you were looking forward to vaginal), but how exciting to have a date! Are you ready for this to be over or are you still loving being pregnant?
My bottom one is breech and the top one is transverse, but my doctor says she doesn't schedule c-sections... so I have no idea when mine will be here.
@Amecsey The minute two embryos showed up on that ultrasound, I threw any expectations I had out the window lol. I didn't want to be upset, or disappointed. So go with the flow has been my motto this pregnancy. So I'm not upset lol. I'm ready to not be pregnant! Don't know if I'm ready for babies though hahaha. My doctor told me at my first appointment she gives all twin moms the option to schedule, and I said just to wait. At this point she said it's easier to schedule it, and cancel it if they happen to flip. At my August and September appointments, my babies were the same as yours! Now they're both breech lol.
@Amecsey isn't that just so crazy that they can be in those positions!
@brittnic86 I so admire your "go with the flow" attitude- that will serve you WELL in parenthood!! It must make it super real to have a date on the books....
@DiFazette She just wants to wait as long as possible until they need to come out, or i need them to. She is pretty much at the hospital most days of the week delivering babies, so I think she figures if they need to come out she'll just meet me there and do it. She says I am now 50-60% effaced, but cervix still closed, so no bed rest yet, but if this keeps up i'll probably be on bed rest the next time i see her in a week and a half. I'm expecting that they will be here around thanksgiving which is week 35 for me.
@brittnic86 I am trying to "go with the flow" too. I feel like no matter what i do at this point, I am not going to be prepared when they get here, so i'm not stressing about it. I am just happy we are past the 28 week mark, and can stop worrying a little about them being born too prematurely. Seriously though, we are all in for some chaos, so we just have to brace for it and deal with it.
@Amecsey gotcha. I'd do some research before letting yourself go past 38/39 weeks if you haven't yet. It can get pretty dicey those last weeks with twins.

Yay, glad you are "long and tight" haha. I always giggled when I would come home and tell DH that.
