About to try to sleep but thought I'd let y'all know what's happening. Cervidil has been in for about an hour and some, and I'm having some irregular contractions already. It'll likely stay in for 12 hours and then I'll get a small breakfast and get to shower before starting the rest of the induction. Probably will start pitocin but could do a foley bulb depending on where we are. See y'all in the morning

@SuperNerd42 contractions died down enough for me to take a 40 min nap this afternoon, but I've now been having them on average every 10 min for the last 18+ hours. and I made the mistake of googling prodromal labor. I have a NST tomorrow and I will see if they can do a cervical check (it's a different office than my OB). So exhausted mentally and physically and the "hard part" hasn't even started yet.
@MRSCORKER... he's SO CUTE!!!! Congratulations and from all the things you've said about your H, I'm not surprised he's being an awesome dad and husband! Also, how scary re: the BP drops and emergency CS. So glad everything worked out to be a-okay!
@MRSCORKER Congrats! Sounds like we ended up in pretty similar situations.... long labors on no sleep ending in c-section. If it's any reassurance, at a week out I feel almost completely normal and have been off pain meds for days. It gets easier every day!

@MRSCORKER - seconding what @Blonde1817 said about cs recovery. I was feeling so much better a week out. Rest as much as you can and drink plenty of water!
Wow what beautiful babies @MRSCORKER and @Blonde1817 !! Love the pics and the stories. Hoping you both have quick recoveries, and so glad that both of your little ones are okay after all that you and them have been through!!
I can't wait until it's my turn. @AllyTheKid can I pls get one of those baby labor dances? I'm getting so anxious even though my due date is 1.5 weeks away....
I went in to L&D and my OB, who has been working the night shift for the last month, admitted me. I was at 4.5 and she said for as long as I'd been laboring, 48+ hrs, they might as well monitor me and see what they could do to get things going. They swept my membranes, set up an epidural and I got 4 hours of sweet sleep! They just broke my water a little bit ago, so still making progress.
I know I'm not a "regular" poster but have enjoyed following along on this post so I thought I would add to it.... My due date was Sunday and I got my membranes stripped on Monday, was 3 cm. DH and I decided to have sex last to see if it would move things along and this morning I woke up crampy. Then I had bleeding- a lot more than what I thought it should be, like a heavy period. It lasted a couple hours and now it's just light bleeding... And I've been having contractions anywhere from 5-15 minutes apart. My doctors office said the bleeding is normal since we had sex but im still not sure...... Anyway.. That's where I'm at now! Did anyone else experience bleeding??
@cd92007 I had bleeding like that too and we didn't have sex. I actually came in to L&D and was told it's not abnormal in late pregnancy. I went into labor 2 days after it started. My OB said it could just be the bloody show or my cervix dilating. Who knows, but everything turned out fine.

Awesome news @bnsmith85! The end is in sight. I have another appt tomorrow (apparently once you go past 40 weeks they have you in 2x a week for monitoring) so I believe tomorrow is when they said we'd schedule the induction, which may also be the 25th since that's the day before I hit 42 weeks.
Hey everyone, I probably won't do a big birth announcement, but wanted to let you guys know that baby boy is here and well! I had this anxiety about the induction that was scheduled for Sunday when I was 41w0d (10/16) and going back and forth on it and you guys really helped me feel better about the whole thing. Once I got past my anxiety, I realized that I didn't want to schedule it for then and wanted to give it a few more days. That was last Thursday. I called the office on Friday to tell them to cancel it- and what do you know but I went into labor that day! Of course it could be all coincidental, but feeling at peace with my decision helped I think.
Labored through the night and throughout the next day and finally had him around 10pm on Saturday night. He went to the NICU for a few hours since he had swallowed some fluid on the way out, but came back to me by lunch the following day and we were discharged on Monday.
Whoops...I guess I did post a birth announcement. But I wanted to tell everyone that their advice and shared experiences was so helpful to me < 3
WORF: I did not come here to
admire the scenery.
DAX: If you say so. I guess we should just go
home.
WORF: Well maybe. I would not be so hasty.
DAX: I take it the scenery has improved?
WORF: A few months ago, when I was commanding
the Defiant on a scouting mission in the Gamma Quadrant, we encountered a
protostar cluster, a swirling mass of colour set against a background of
glowing clouds and burning sky. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever
seen, until now.
DAX: I've got to take you on vacation more
often.
Congrats @waitingforbabies! That's really awesome how it worked out like that! I'm anxious about the possibility of inducing too so I'm hoping I can have the same luck as you!
This pregnancy is so opposite from my last.... Last time my water broke and I was 1-3 minutes apart with contractions immediately and off to the hospital rather quickly. This morning, I had consistent 5 min apart contractions for a couple hours and thought it was go time but then they stopped and had nothing the rest of the day!! Ugh it's such a mind game right now!
Also, I have no idea if I should be walking and trying to get the contractions to start again or rest in case labor is throughout the middle of the night.
