I love seeing everyone's ideas and projects. What do you plan on making for LO? Bonus points for pictures :)

I plan to make a pair of booties and a blanket. I found this one below but plan to change the salmon color for purple.

  • I can't sew, knit or crochet to save my life. I did make these fabric covered panels for DDs room before she was born and eventually a painting after she wa born . I will probably do the same thing with different fabric for this one. I plan to wait until we get a house before I start planning though!

  • I have an old rocker that I want to make a cushion for. And I made a bunch of onesies for my godchild so I'll probably make more for my kid. It was mostly just lots of monograms lol. I'm also gonna make a christening blanket out of my MILs wedding dress. As for the nursery I'm just waiting to find out the sex, but I'll probably have so many DIY things in there too.

  • Wow I haven't actually thought what I'd make for this LO. But now it has me thinking since I can't knit, sew or crochet I'll probably make a decoration for the nursery wall like I did for DD. (If I can figure out how to add a picture I will)  :)

I would like to make this first.  The yarn store I use has all their fall weights and colors out right now so I am working with the owner to get some lightweight yarn for me to get started.  I'm not sure what color I will make the heart.  My Harmony test is 26th so I will know after that.  :)

@JonesBaby0624 I love this blanket. Do you have a pattern for this? I'd love to have my mom make it for me.
  • I always make their name art for the nursery wall and of course their baby albums. But it's my moms thing to make them an embroidered quilt!

  • @Jenshoes I found it on ravelry.  This link may work.  If  not it's called Valentine's Day Baby Blanket.  https://makingalife.me/2014/02/14/valentines-day-blankets/

  • Haha... I still need to finish the crochet blanket for my 15 month old DS....  :D
in all seriousness though I will definitely do some kind of knit/crochet project for this little one too... it just might not be finished anytime soon... haha!

  • I'm a very beginner knitter and would love to get good enough to make a baby blanket or something relatively simple. Also probably some simple stencil wall art.
  • I'm going to crochet a couple hats and sew some flannel burp cloths. If I have time, I might make a blanket. I'm kind of obsessed with these: https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2014/08/16/super-easy-sewn-blanket-for-beginners/
  • @CajunSnowWhite89 how do you monogram the onesies? I was gifted several onesies for DS1. They were very cute but the paint was itchy on him and didn't was very well. I want to try and make some this time around but don't know where to start.

  • @museic wow that is super cute! You're so talented!

Once I know gender I will start knitting some hats/clothes and a blanket or two. Right now I'm crocheting a bunch of little stuffed animals, they're so cute! I've done the giraffe and pig so far.
Here's the link to the patterns: https://www.amigurumitogo.com/p/welcome-to-list-of-little-bigfoot.html

Not the best picture, but I knitted this little cardigan for a friend's kid but finished too late (actually still need to sew on 2 more buttons...), so if I have a boy he's wearing this!

    OMG this is sooooooo cute!!!

  • @museic I would definitely put that on a boy or a girl!!!  Adorable!!

I have made a quilt for each of my daughters, and am planning to make a quilt for this little one too!  I have about three that I've promised to other people to get through first...
  • I have little-to-no artistic/craft/sewing talent, but I've come across this blog a few times and always think her projects are cute. Maybe it can give some ideas/instructions for people here who can use them. :)

  • I want to make this mobile and a monogram similar to these.

  • Assuming my hunch that we're having a girl is correct.
  • I was wondering where this thread went/came from! I've made several light weight swaddle blankets, burp cloths, and have the fabric to make minky blanket (one side minky the other a cotton fabric). I don't have any pictures right now, but once I find everything I'll take some! :)

  • Omg @Squirtgun that is absolutely amazing!  Great job!
  • I am almost done knitting a blanket otherwise the blanket, mobile, ruler growth chart and flower letter is as crafty as I got. I'm amazed at all you ladies that can crochet or quilt!
  • I'm impressed with everyone who does knitting and crochet! I don't have the patience for that!

@absbubbs I LOVE the clouds! So cute! And that will look gorgeous in a stroller. All the other moms at the park will be jealous  :D
  • @absbubbs those are beautiful! The cloud one is especially cute! I have known how to crochet since i was little but never ever put it to good use. I just now did those (VERY SIMPLE) blankets for the twins but i wish i could do something like that! Is it a pattern on the internet?
  • Thanks @squirtgun, now I just have to finish it! A crocheters biggest enemy...

@Jkp7749 My dad taught me how to crochet when I was about 7 and about 5 years ago I finally really got into it! The pattern is a graph, but it's super easy. You just crochet over the color you aren't using and each square is a single crochet. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/tapestry-crochet-washcloths---so-hip BTW, if you've never been to Ravelry, it's a dangerous place because you'll end up with a million things to do!
  • Maggie's stay on booties! I want to have some done by the time he's here but I keep forgetting to start them.
