I tried one of those maternity support belts this morning for my low back pain... it was pretty horrible the instant I sat down. Did I get the wrong size or something, or do these things just suck? It felt like it was digging into my lower stomach right where Dean always kicks me.
1. I love (maybe jealous?) that you've picked his name and can refer to him as Dean! So precious!!! We are no where near decided on a name yet.
2. I've been wanting to try a support belt, but wasn't sure what to get. I'm hoping someone here knows of a really good one. Which one did you buy?
@FreshBakedBrownies they had a Medela one in stock at BRU when I went in to shower shop for a co-worker, so I grabbed it. It does help a little when I'm up and about, but sitting or bending much is a no go.
I'm thinking I'll keep it for at least the afternoons when I'm trying to get things done around the house.
Has anyone else had discomfort walking? I've had the oddest cramps right in the lowest part of my stomach almost near my vagina. I can't walk very fast and it sometimes hurts getting up and sitting down. The pain is not excruciating, but it's a very noticeable discomfort.
I have this. I think it's some sort of ligament cramp but have no actual clue. It hasn't been enough to keep me from walking (I love walking!) but it's super annoying. Staying hydrated helps a lot, as usual, but then I have to pee mid-walk so it's quite the puzzle!

Yeah, pretty sure this is ligament pain. My MW told me RLP can extend all the way to your groin, so that would make sense. I get this occasionally, but it usually doesn't last. I DO, however, get pain in my hip joint - like, the inside of where my femur connects to my hip. Usually only on one side, and it's really annoying. I also get what feels like runners cramps up and down both sides of my uterus when I walk for too long, and my MW said that was also ligament pain. Everything stretching out. Not comfortable.

I get all of that too! What fun. My gut told me not to worry about it but it's still nice to hear I'm not alone.
I am seriously afraid at times that if I can't get to the bathroom fast enough, I might pee my pants! It seems like the urge gets strong all of a sudden which has been a pain if it's during a work meeting. Could it be she is just already pressing on my bladder a lot?
Yesterday and today I keep getting a pain in my actual stomach, not uterus area, and it hurts....but then it passes eventually. I am assuming it is gas but it kept me up all night.
Uggggh, having a rough day. Had a dizzy spell after a meeting in another building, but some friends over there were super helpful, and brought me water and snuck me into a conference room so I could sit and not be bothered. One even emailed my boss to let him know I'de be a little delayed getting back. My back is killing me in new places, and the constipation is making me feel all bent up. My little groundhog doesn't seem to mind any of this- she is bonking around like crazy and I'm pretty sure has been giving me tiny high-fives. Will be trying some of the constipation remedies I've seen here. (I may also go ahead and eat a whole eggplant by myself, which gave me massive scoots a couple of weeks ago. Seriously. My kingdom for a BM.)

@lfrank12 This happens to me, too...and then I only end up going, like, a tablespoon of pee. For me, this doesn't happen all the time, so I think it's related to when the baby maneuvers him/herself into a place that's pressing on my bladder. Preparing myself for when this is going to be ALL THE TIME! Hope neither of us wet ourselves in any work meetings.

@MrsLittleMac - DH bought us a white noise machine (in our room for now, to be transferred to the nursery once LO arrives and I stop snoring so much, hopefully). It has made such a difference for me. Now, when I wake up, I hear DH snoring, but the noise somehow makes it less jarring and I have a much easier time getting back to sleep.

I had it confirmed this morning that it is a kind of ligament pain, only not round, mine is because my ligaments are stretching apart. The doctor who saw me said that my baby is rather large in there and so the ligaments in my pelvic area are stretching faster than they normally would. I've just been ordered to stay off my feet as much as possible for 4 days, and when I go back to work try to convince my boss to let me have a few extra breaks in there just to sit and ease things. The only thing that had me slightly concerned was she kept saying, "this won't get much better for you as you go along." Oh well, I'll keep plugging along and do my best, but I'll definitely take your advice on keeping more hydrated, I likely need to do that anyway.
@BlondePeanut I have been having the same thing since
yesterday!! It's either my stomach, or my small intestine just to the left of
my stomach... It's on my left side, way above where my uterus is, but below the
rib cage. I am 99% sure it's gas pain, since I have felt gas bubbles in that
vicinity as well. It happens when I move in certain ways (like twisting to that
side), or just randomly, but it goes away in less than a second every time.
It's a sharp, quick pain, and it's annoying. I hope it passes soon, but
I’ll mention it to my MW at my appointment on Monday if it doesn’t.
@lfrank it happens to me too. I drink a lot of water, and then when I realize I hate to pee, I have to go NOW. And the baby kicks my bladder sometimes, which doesn't help.
For a support band, I got this guy and I love it so far. It feels like a compression sock for my stomach. I've been sleeping in it and wearing it at work. I miss it a little in the shower.
Pretty sure I'm going to get industrial-looking velcro abdominal binder in another month or so to wear ON TOP of this sucker. I'll look sexi with my compression tube+velcro harness+sports bra+compression socks. I'll just go for the full on compression tights so the only non-squished thing on me is my elbow.
Anyone else already feeling huge, squished, and super uncomfortable!? STM at 21wks and I feel like I did at 9mo with my DD. I've barely been able to eat anything the past few days because I feeling stuffed like I've eaten thanksgiving dinner, and can barely breath with my lung space already feeling crammed.

@Spicyweiner I poop everyday, but it's so damned hard to pass I almost lose consciousness to get out. Miralax has failed. Metamucil has failed. Apple cider, dried apricots, prunes, apples have all failed! It's seriously like trying to birth a puppy out of my butt. Everyday.
@kjd291 this was me yesterday, i literally felt like i was going to burst! I think it was because of the dress i was wearing to work though, it was quote straight & therefore a bit more restrictive than what i usually wear. The dress has now been retired to the "nolonger able to wear to work" pile
@foxyroxy Take this advice with a grain of salt, but when my poops get like that (despite plenty of fiber), it's because I'm not drinking enough water to accommodate my increased fiber intake. Fiber absorbs a lot of water, so if you don't have enough, it turns into a giant, dry clump that that wants only to ravage your butthole. If you're taking Metamucil AND eating a bunch of high-fiber foods, you probably need to be chugging multiple liters of water per day.
Of course, if you're already doing this, and still nothing, tell me to shut up. Prayers for your butt!

SITB
Hmmm, my little dude is measuring on the larger side too. I bet it's something similar. What a bummer. It probably doesn't seem like it from my online persona, but pregnancy has been mentally tough for me sometimes (I'm sure it is for all of us!) and the exercise I'm still able to manage, long walks and prenatal yoga, is such a release for me. It would be so rough to give it up unless it's for the baby's health. I think I'll just listen to my body and stay the course for now. Hope the break helps you to feel better and that your boss is amenable to extra break time!
Hadn't experienced it yet but damn, lightning crotch is fo real. That ish is no joke! I can't even control myself to not gasp when it happens in public
@MoonOverGoldsboro please don't shut up. I suspect you may be on to something. I believed I was increasing my water intake but perhaps it's not enough. The thought that I'm not is really disheartening considering the fact I subsequently have to pee every twenty minutes. Maybe I'll just buy some adult diapers and have a fiber/water/piss party.
@foxrosy Hahaha. Oh god, the peeing. I honestly wish I had a catheter sometimes. I can no longer get through entire work meetings (many of which are online, thankfully), entire dog walks, etc. without needing a restroom. One of these days I'm gonna end up peeing in my trashcan, on the side of the road...who knows?!

So I've had this weird feeling in my throat (the very top pretty much in my mouth) for a couple days now. You know like when you take a shot and it's like that cool burning? Or if you chew mint gum and then drink water? It's like that. Is this acid reflux? I've never had it before so I have no clue. And this is constant, doesn't matter what/when I eat.
@jlellis603 I've had GERD for over a decade and I have not experienced that. If I had to guess, I would say that it is not GERD. And I have no clue what that could be. But then again, every persons body is different.
This ear infection is driving me insane! It's now giving me a headache. My pharmacy didn't have the medicine the doctor ordered. So they had to order it and it only arrived today. I just took my first dose, I really hope it works right away. I feel like I'm going crazy with the tinnitus, the muffled hearing, and the pain.

It sounds sort of like acid reflux but sort of not? Try taking some tums? I had that feeling consistently for two days after eating some Mexican food no matter what I did. Thankfully it went away.
So, when I was cooking today, I was standing up close to the stove and didn't realize how hot my belly was getting!! I do this all the time and I'm used to the heat. But then I finally realized I have a baby in there and oh my god, I felt AWFUL!! My belly was all red and extremely hot to the touch. I freaked out and then my husband freaked out when he saw and he quickly started putting cold water on it to cool it down. I feel so so so terrible. I'm sorry baby girl!!! I hope I didn't cause any damage. Omg I feel like a terrible mother already. Has anyone else ever done this? Please tell me your baby was fine.
Ugh, my boobs must weigh at least 10lbs. They've never felt so huge. I went from a D cup to DD and now I may have to upgrade yet again. Something tells me I'll be an F by the time my milk comes in.
This didnt happen last time around. My boobs didn't get bigger through out the pregnancy. Just went up a cup size after DS was born.
Needless to say, my back is killing me. All the weight is in the front. My ass is looking very underwhelming lately....

Woke up this morning to leaky boobs. It wasn't a ton, maybe about the size of a dime on my nightgown, but it still seems way too early for this ish.
Also, I keep getting a really sharp pain when I try to roll over in bed (right side to left side or vice versa). My entire lower abdomen feels like it cramps up and it wakes me up every time. Makes sleeping impossible
Guys, am I the only one whose boobs HAVEN'T grown much at all? They've plumped a bit, but I'm still in the same cup size. I've had mini-tits my whole life, so I didn't expect much, but I wouldn't mind something to balance out the belly a bit...
@srscott3 I haven't had noticeable leaks yet, but I'm definitely seeing dried colostrum on my nips every couple of days. It does seem so early for this!!

@MoonOverGoldsboro mine haven't grown that much. My two best-fitting bras from pre-BFP still fit. Other than those I just wear sports bras. No leaks yet to speak of but we shall see...
Mine grew, but I was like a full B to begin with. Even though they are bigger, I'm just in a C. So they haven't grown a ton, and I wasn't packing a ton to begin with!!
