as much as I loved TCOYF and how much it taught me about my body and TTC, I also feel like it kind of gives slightly unrealistic expectations. Like almost every anecdote she provides goes something like this "This patient and her DH were TTC and they weren't doing this thing. So I told them they need to do this thing. They did the thing and the next cycle, they were KU!"

Following up on @lulu1180 's UO, my UO is that I don't think the FF app is very good at pinpointing ovulation except in super obvious cases.
You ladies all know how much I love CS (because it's fun for me -- I am a social scientist who likes using my deductive powers for good) but some of the times that FF can't spot O, it is so so obvious. The whole point of the FF app is for edge cases where you can't see it yourself, right? Then why is it so terrible at seeing O in edge cases?
@ChefRamsay@adirat@lulu1180 I feel like a lot less people would take the pill if they hadn't been influenced by all that misinformation we were given growing up.
My UO is I can't stand "BD" and "DH" (not the things they stand for but the names). "BD" makes me feel like we're all little kids doing like a water dance at the sky to try to get KU. "HIO" doesn't bother me, but I prefer "FwP" or just "sex", which is what I normally say. "DH" makes me feel like we are all 1950s ladies writing in our diaries. For some reason it doesn't bother me with the kids but with the husbands I'm weirded out by the use of "dear".
Edited spelling
Ahhh you beat me to it, @adirat I was going to say: You could always pretend the D stands for Dumb....or dingbat or dopey etc
@slavenski I think you're preaching to the choir here! I know a few people that got KU without consulting with their "spouse"... (if you even want to call it that) then when it doesn't work out the guy is suddenly a "huge douche" and life is just totally unfair. Reading these things while patiently waiting to get started ttc, and now ttc for 5 months, it drives me nuts and is partially the reason I dislike facebook... but if I were to actually speak my mind I'd be some huge B and it would be not my business. That and holier-than-thou posts on parenting. Don't get me started lol... wow that was kind if a stream of consciousness rant... sorry if it didn't make sense

@Dinosaur I don't *hate* dogs but not a huge dog person and the big ones drive me nuts if they're not extremely well-trained. I'm like 5 feet tall and didn't grow up around dogs so when they jump up on me I feel like they're going to claw my eyes out and kill me. And sometimes even when I meet an awesome dog, I'm like "a little space, please?!"
Bone Zone and Pound Town... I am totally going to start using those now.
@dinosaur While I don't necessarily hate dogs, I find most of them annoying. I would definitely take a cat over a dog any day. Sadly, DH (dumb husband in this case LOL) is very allergic.

Tbh, I wasn't really a dog person until DH and I got our puppy. She's fairly well behaved but still tries to jump on people. Since we're aware of this, we keep a pretty tight rein on her when going for walks and do our best to keep her from doing this

@lulu1180 MH is a dog person too and we're planning on getting one eventually. When they're trained I don't have an issue. A lot of my ILs have very poorly trained dogs though and they're all huge so it's not cool. TBH I'm probably partly to blame for not being at ease around them, as surely they can smell my fear. And I know it's more the fault of the owner than the dog. But still a PITA and worried about visits there if KU.
@Dilynne and @nelbetronI dont like bacon either! everyone thinks im crazy, but I hate it! My roommate used to make it all the time and I would have to open the window to get the smell out!

Mommy to a super cute havanesse puppy and baby boy!
@kiwi2628 I hate all squash too! My mom used to bake acorn squash with apples inside them and I would gag every time she made them. I'd only eat the apples and even then I could taste that nasty squash. No thank you! @slavenski Google "Sphaghetti Squash." It's a huge thing for those doing the Paleo or any GF diets.
@zwink1 I must find those Reeses now! I never buy candy anymore because DD will want them and I'm not sharing!
@MommytoM13 I was against all condiments for a very long time. I've grown out of it but still eat any sandwich "dry" and people think I'm crazy.
@GeorgiaWife6912 100% yes, the boards have changed so much (except the support of course). Our BMB was super active and also not nice to newbies at all and there weren't really guidelines posted back then.
@RunRestRepeat every time you post about riding on the trails, I wonder how close you have been to my house. We live a mile off the Great Western Trail.
@adirat I am in awe of your chart reading. I'm getting better in my second month but I was so lost during my first. I feel so lucky that we have you
@Dinosaur@vflux33 dogs have always scared the crap out of me! I don't care how little or big they are, they are animals and have a brain of their own and can turn on people whenever they'd like. I use this same philosophy with horses. But yet, we have a large dog and I am still cautious around him, especially with DD.
My UO is although I love the support from this community, I absolutely hate the format. It is so hard to comment/tag. I'm literally sitting here looking at my phone and typing on my laptop to tag people, while hoping TB doesn't eat most of my post, and fighting off video ads. I realize people keep coming back so why change the format but UGH!!! My BMB moved to FB because we all hated this format soooo much!

@bumpybump Haha, thanks. I do a lot of "graph interpretation" and "table reading" in my job so I'm all about doing it for TTC. I totally hear you on the set up here -- especially on mobile I struggle to be a good participant and respond. Also I can't figure out how to see if people have tagged me on mobile. Is there a way?
@motherhubbard19 omg that's the WORST! Today someone posted something to the effect of "Going through a lot right now... don't really want to talk about it. And if you know what it's about, please keep it between us. Just pray for me." How is there even any point in posting? Just so I know you have secrets?
@vflux33 what's FwP stand for? I've never heard that one. DH does make me cringe a little, tend to just write H instead
