Re: Weekly Bitch Fest 10/10-10/15

  • I just don't give any fucks about anything right now. This little guy is sitting so low that at times I'm certain he's just going to fall out. I mean, not really, but it's not comfortable at all. I just want to lay down.

    Oh, and if this heartburn would kindly go away, that would be much appreciated as well.

    I'm a whiny bitch this morning, but three months just feels like an eternity.

  • Minor bitching: DD has a well baby this morning and needs a nap so I figured I'd leave early, take the long way and squeeze in a car-nap only to discover DH took both sets of car keys to work with him this morning and is a half hour away. Now I'll barely make it on time and am gonna be taking a 15 month old to the doctor sans nap. Crap.
  • @katesmama0706 - may the force be with you. DH owes you a foot massage or something!

    Can I complain about my baby's changing sleeping cycle worrying the crap out of me?

    He went from being extremely active for a week or so, to now being silent for long periods of time. Some days he's start a few small kicks here and there, nothing really strong. Then at time he'll be silent for HOURS and wake up determined to like break out of my uterus....

    Whenever he goes silent for long periods of time it always freaks me out, I start like poking at my stomach, eating even if I'm not hungry just to get him active so I can feel he's ok...

    I know babies go through differing sleeping patterns around the end of the second tri, but it's so distracting and worrysome....

    Uhg.

  • @hjmorgan - I had a similar experience a few weeks ago and I made DH sneak me in for an ultrasound and it turns out baby was turned around going to town on my placenta and I couldn't feel any of it. I believe we aren't supposed to really keep track of movements until we are 28 weeks along - how far along are you?

  • @HJMorgan I agree, totally normal but if it has you paranoid or your anxiety up give your doctor a call and see what they say. They may have you set aside a time a day to do kick counts or have you come in to check things out. All kind of depends on the doctor.

  • My belly and hips are almost constantly hurting now and they're made worse by picking my son up.  So of course, now he only wants me to pick him up.  I get simultaneously annoyed that he doesn't want DH as much and then guilty for feeling like I'm rejecting him.  The hormones make the whole thing worse.

  • Baby has been kicking me exclusively in the vagina for the past several days. It doesn't hurt, I'm more just annoyed that I was getting all these cute belly kicks that others could feel to getting pummeled in my crotch.
  • @HJMorgan Your LO could be about to go through a growth spurt. I had the same worry last week... he usually moves like crazy all day long and went really, really quiet on me. Then about 3 days later, he was back wailing away once more and I realized my bump had definitely grown quite a bit in the past week. It's still scary though! Especially since you can't confirm that everything is okay until you see it in hindsight!
  • I've had bronchitis for a couple of days now and my cousin, who works in L&D at a hospital (not the one I go to though) is telling me "we give pregnant women Robitussin all the time. It's no big deal." Which is fine, but then acts like I'm dumb for not wanting to take it... I'd rather not take a category C drug if I don't have to. Incidentally, my body has done an amazing job of handling bronchitis not taking OTC drugs for it...  I guess sometimes, good old fashioned home remedies really are the cure for all that ails thee. Normally, bronchitis lingers with me for a few weeks... I'm feeling a lot better after just 3 days this time so I just want to be like

    to anyone who thinks it's Robitussin or bust.
  • Work is so stressful the last few weeks and I'm at my breaking point. Planning to be a SAHM after delivery but serious thinking of just giving my notice soon and enjoying time off before baby. It's a huge leap but leaving is all I think about all day long!!!

    @ceclarlinetlo
    I am 25 weeks. I didn't think about him pounding away at the placenta! That makes sense.

    @carly79
    I have my next appointment this week and going to mention it to my midwife to see when I really have to be paranoid. lol

    @canavara
    That's a good point! It's very possible. I do remember when he went through his first real big growth spurt he had a similar pattern, but that was before I really felt his kicks frequently and they weren't regularly strong. I'm just used to feeling him constantly now! As uncomfortable as it can be some time, it's so reassuring!

    Thanks ladies!

    :)

    I hate that! Just because 'everyone else takes it' so it 'MUST be safe!' Doesn't mean it should be used by everyone anytime. I say you go girl getting through it!

  • @canavara I hate even taking Tylenol even though it is shown to be safe. I prefer not to take anything if I can manage and then if necessary start with the Tylenol. I have terrible seasonal allergies and allergies to animals and have managed to only take my allergy meds when I am visiting my inlaws who have 3 cats and all fabric furniture (if I sit on wood or leather furniture it's not as bad). I'm so glad the natural remedies are working, it's amazing how those work sometimes.

    What is up with toddlers only wanting mom right now?! My DD will hardly ever let my H hold her anymore, and when he tries, she gets super pissed off and yells, "No, I just want Mommy!"

    And like you, I am super annoyed that she won't let H do anything, and then I feel guilty because I feel like I should love the fact that she only wants me.

  • @emy730 and @ashanne88 DS has been in this phase for a very long 6 months. Everyone keeps telling me that it will get better when baby is here and I just have trouble believing them. I will add, DS very recently has started going to dad for a few things so I am hopeful. But daddy can't do bedtime at all and we will start working on this again next week.

    I wish the annoyance mixed with guilt would go away, especially because my guilt also is due to the fact that I feel back that he is choosing me over my husband and know my husband would love to help out or do what he needs.

    @hjmorgan girl I am 100% with you on this. I'm 26 weeks and my baby is doing the EXACT same thing. My hospital runs a clinic for nervous pregnant ladies and I'm super close to going in just so they can reassure me. Baby's still moving (though it feels less forceful but idk if that's my mind) but her pattern has changed...

    Anyways I have a doozy of a MBF. My joy of a father in law was in town last weekend with my brother in law. FIL had a mid life crises a few years ago and bought a deli in DH's hometown. He made DH's brother the manager (DH didn't want to be part of it/ move back to Wales). So brother in law's girlfriend was saying how she needed a vacation to look forward to and my father in law goes- "we'll each have to take a week and go away somewhere IN JANUARY." I nearly fell off my chair.

    My in laws haven't offered to help with ANYTHING for the baby but they're willing to spend cash and book a vacation that could possibly coincide with the birth of their first grandchild. DH told me of course they'd coordinate it around the baby but how do they know if the baby will be early or late? I honestly think they hate me sometimes ha. But then I realize they must hate their son too!

  • My BF is for sure super basic girl problems,but I am so pissed at Pinterest and its crockpot meals. I love doing the crockpot in the morning, then coming home from work to a ready to eat meal (or at least close to ready to eat). But now, every meal that I see on Pinterest that make me go "Yassss" ends up having the most ridiculous instructions that completely defeat the purpose of cooking with a crock pot. Like changing the temperature every 1.5 hours, adding an ingredient halfway through the day, etc. If it only takes 3 hrs on low in the crock pot, that can be done on the stove - and ain't nobody got time for that!

    I think push presents are crazy, but I told H that if he wanted to get me a present before the baby arrives, that I would love a Wifi enabled crockpot, so I can at least circumvent one of these issues.

  • @cjs260 Do they make wifi enabled crockpots? If so I want one. Between when we leave in the morning for work and get home and are ready for dinner it ends up being closer to 11 hours which for a lot of recipes, even on low, that's a long time. Often times I'll go home at lunch and turn it on which is ok but not always ideal (and somewhat defeats the purpose) so if I could turn it on via my phone that would be amazing and totally worth the cost.

  • @cjs260 I now must have a wifi enabled crockpot!! And.. I totally agree with you on the crazy crockpot instructions sometimes. I too am a crockpot nut and would make all meals in there if I could but I don't have time to come home from work halfway through the day to adjust the temperature or add in an ingredient.

    I'm not feeling well this week and last night my DH says, if you want to close the door to our bedroom and relax go for it. I'll watch DD. Well, 20 minutes in I hear all sorts of banging in the bathroom. It's my DD, putting the entire roll of toilet paper in the toilet, playing with all my nail polish, and having an accident on the floor. Then I clean all of it up, realize she needs to eat dinner, make dinner, and then watch movie with her. I was furious! WTF DH, don't tell me to relax if you don't actually mean it. Although, my DD can be such a snuggler so I can't complain too much. :smile:

  • @hayhay87 seriously? lol well I guess theyre just gunna be missing out, but that sucks!

    @mrshuse525 hope at least the 20 minute power nap helped a little? I would be mad too, seriously. But I hope you start feeling better soon!

    I am really starting to get irritated at work, mostly with my boss (he seriously has the characteristics of a toddler, from tantrums to being all about me me me) BUT my co-worker so far this week is really getting to me. She asks oh so nicely to take a pic of her with every client that comes to visit to post/promote on social media. Ok cool whatever, but there's other ppl in the office, why are you asking the pregnant lady to get up from her desk all day?! I am tired of getting up and sitting down and getting up and so on. I get RLP and its just not fun. It takes me longer and longer to get up, she doesnt notice, and I am too nice to say no.

    Plus, there's a selfie mode! People can be so inconsiderate. Or I am probably just over-reacting lol

  • My child has said momma probably 2,000 times since I picked him up 2 hours ago. I am exhausted from work today, and every day I seem to be getting slower. My husband was complaining about no food in the house, so I went grocery shopping with whiny toddler after work. I then unloaded and put the groceries up myself. Now, I'm cooking supper and just want to cry because I'm so tired.

    Also, don't know where husband is. He was supposed to go to the rent house to work on a fence today. He called with this big excuse of couldn't find the post hole diggers, but later remembered where they were but didn't go get them. He's one to put things off as long as possible, and it is driving me crazy right now.

    Ugh, I just want some quiet alone time!
  • @teach123 idk if it's like an extension of my nesting that's making it seem awful or if he's really just being more lazy than normal, but DH seriously keeps putting off things he needs to do around the house (ones I can't do because of ladders, chemicals or just basic lack of know how) because he's "so tired" or some other crap excuse and I'm getting so irritated with it. Just get crap done!
  • @Teach123 @katesmama0706 +1 to this. DH just can't seem to get anything done because he's "so tired" from work, even though he was recently promoted to a desk job from hard labor. Currently he's on his way home because he has a man-cold. FML

  • I wish people read their emails at work. I'm so tired of talking about problem XYZ then getting a response of "Oh, well ABC". That's great...but THAT DOESN'T HELP!!!

    For example, I'm starting to create a microsite today. I asked if a certain page needed to be created or if we were going to redirect that link to a page that had already been created. The response I got was, "We want DRAFTS of all the pages." (yes, they put DRAFTS in all caps). Yep. I can do that, I was planning on doing that for all the webpages BUT my question still remains. :angry:

    I work at a college and e-mail is our main form of communication, I get the same responses. It is so irritating...

    Or people who just don't read the full e-mail. I put very obvious instruction/requests in the e-mail. Then I get a call 30 mins later with a question about it and I just reply "Did you read the e-mail... or just the subject.... because all of this was explained..."

  • @emy730 i am so with you. we are living all over the place during our house renovation and H was complaining that he was feeling out of shape due to lack of our own kitchen/food/exercise routines.  i obviously want him to be healthy, but i was like seriously, times that by months and stuff a beach ball in your shirt and have zero clothes that fit you and then complain to me about being off of your fitness routine. i could have the healthiest, most active day and still feel like a bloated, constipated mess the next day. i think he learned that was the last time he was allowed to complain to me.
  • My company loves to randomly switch desks and apparently I'm up for a move again. The last time I moved was during the dead of winter (two feet of snow and below zero wind chill) across the parking lot. This time I'm basically being put in a corner. I feel like the bad kid now. Also I'll be SO far from the bathrooms, cafeteria, water fountains, and the department I work with everyday. I was such a moody bitch after I found out. But seriously - who moves a pregnant lady away from the bathroom?!
  • Just a small MBF to add, for the life of me I can't figure out how to add my tickers to my signature and make them work! ugh.
