I go in and out of my nesting moods. One day I am running around the house highly motivated to get things done and the next I can barely talk myself into getting off the couch. Most weekends I am totally exhausted from working 40+ hours and use the weekends to catch up on rest.
We just moved into our house--the house is a disaster of boxes everywhere right now so pretty much a nester's wet dream, but I'm hesitant to touch any of the baby's things and go in his nursery and get bronchitis germs all over everything so naturally I organized our entire kitchen and my master closet:

I went on a SERIOUS nesting-binge today. My parents are coming to visit next weekend, so I knew it was now or never. I cannot even describe how awesome it feels. We still have a little bit to do in the kitchen (most will wait until we have baby stuff like bottles to contend with), but everything else BUT the nursery is good to go. The nursery will be an undertaking because it's been pretty much a dumping ground for stuff that needs a home, but we haven't figured out where. We live in a small 2 bed duplex so we don't have much for storage- I mean our kitchen doesn't even have drawers- so today was quite a day in the name of nesting.
@canavara this has got to be a weird nesting thing, but I'm oddly satisfied with the before and after pictures. Just seeing all the organization makes me happy.
@canavara - if it makes you feel better - you will give your baby antibodies against these bronchitis germs in your milk so if you want to organize his room you can. If you are really worried just wait to wash his clothes until you feel better and wipe down hard surfaces with a Clorox wipe.
I got in the 'every little corner and baseboard must be scrubbed down'-mode yesterday. I woke up at like 6:30 and was cleaning my kitchen and living room from top to bottom until about 11, then proceeded to make homemade apple cider... My husband woke up but then went back to bed because he said he new I was working since I had my "cleaning music" on. LOL!
I cannot WAIT to start actually setting up the baby stuff. We're not buying anything until after the babyshower(November 5th) and it's KILLING me!
DH actually put up the shelf and rod in the closet (he tore out wire organizers at the start of the remodel), so I was able to start moving all the baby things we've accumulated into the nursery rather than around the house. Hopefully with the nursery set, we can bring everything home from the shower and immediately put it away. ...unlike our wedding shower where we still have boxes in the basement of unused gifts.
Seriously though. I can't get enough of sitting in there and holding the tiny outfits and tiny diapers. It feels so surreal to know our son will wear these things.
Also the toys are in the closet for now, because our cat thinks everything in the room is there for her.
I got the replacement cover and parts in for the car seat today and wrestled that thing around installing them tonight.
I also got a small rocking recliner for what will become our playroom tonight. I found it on a local buy, sell, trade sight. It'll be good for nights that baby is up all night.
I bought a Dyson stick vac last week and I'm in love. I'm vacuuming every day with it now. DH is also nesting I think. He ripped out the basement carpet and put in tile last week.
I nested sooo bad with my first I drove my poor husband crazy! Thank goodness I curbed a lot of it this time but did reorganize DS room super early and got DD's clohes that we will reuse ready to go and put away. I'd be panicking if I didn't have a layout planned and ready to go before she comes. All I have to have my husband do is grab a coming home outfit from the hospital.
I'm convinced our basement needs carpet. Like...right now. xD I hate the thought of my feet on the wood floor in the basement in the winter! Dh thinks I'm nuts! I've been dragging all of our things out of the crawl space and throwing away/donating/re-organizing everything.

I definitely am but wishing I wasn't living in a fixer upper in the midst of my nesting. We are renovating our attic to make more room but it's a super slow process. I have 16 month old that I need to make a bedroom for which means moving my tv room someplace else. The new boy will move into the nursery room which is an extension off our bedroom in the back of the house. I did organize a lot of handme down clothes but we still have to get furniture for my daughter and I definitely want to decorate her room so it's a little cuter than a bunch of my male portraits I have mounted on the walls. Anybody pregnant and in the middle of fixing their house?
@ccarrozza1 we are on month 4 of renovations in our new house and I'm so ready to move in and set everything up! This past weekend we were finally able to move everything from storage into the house, but still waiting on permits so we can have a propane gas tank installed for the water heater and gas range before we officially move in. I can unpack certain things, but not nearly as much as I want to. Once we are moved in though, I will be nesting and organizing until this baby comes!
We lost power with the hurricane....and all our food in the fridge/freezer. It is okay though, because the nesting bug thought it was awesome to clean out the expired food. And that stuff in the freezer you froze and can't remember when. Yeah. Silver lining.
