My DD just had her 4 month visit today and the doctor says she's teething on the lower jaw, but no teeth emerging yet. I had no idea this happened so soon! This will make breastfeeding fun, ugh!

I have a friend that was born with her two lower teeth. Can you imagine trying to learn to breastfeed with a baby with teeth?! That would be my nightmare!

Ooh good grief, no! The pain! Bottles may have been my choice if my DD was born with teeth.
My son was actually born with his upper right canine! The pediatrician said it's unusual but not unheard of. I haven't really felt it while nursing him but he's working on getting the front bottom ones and I'm wondering how that'll feel.

As long as they have a normal latch we actually shouldn't feel the bottom teeth because they out their tongue over their guns to nurse. It's the top teeth that I hear are the ouchies.

I hadn't thought much about it but that makes perfect sense.
What signs did you all see that a tooth was gearing up to make an appearance?
Damien drools like crazy, so much so that everyone asks if he is teething, even the physical therapist. He also chews and sucks on everything he gets his hands on and is constantly rubbing his face. This has been going on for several weeks though and I haven't seen any changes in his mouth so I'm curious if this is just him being a baby or if a tooth or teeth is/are coming.
That sounds like what Sam did. Lots of drool and he is constantly sucking on his fingers or anything that comes close to his mouth. I feel very lucky because he wasn't fussy. On Wednesday I was letting him suck on my finger during his ultrasounds and I felt it. Now you can see it, although I can't get a good picture of it.
So Jack has been SO fussy at night, like almost as soon as I put him down he starts screaming bloody murder. Could this be teething? He was been drooling for a few months now so thats not really a sign for me. I can't feel anything in his tiny mouth but I also don't totally know what I'm looking for.

Honestly I didn't notice much difference in Sam and then his teeth poked up. He did have a few nights right before I noticed his tooth where he woke up at 330 and couldn't put himself back to sleep. Lots of drool and he chews on anything that comes near his mouth.
adiaz132003 We have been regressing for a few weeks now. Maybe this is the worst part of it? I'm so tired.
Maybe it's almost done? For we hit the worst part for a few days then it was suddenly better and the screaming stopped, that's when we started sleep training.

I can't wait to start sleep training!!! Maybe tonight will be our night for it to suddenly get better!
Is it normal for teeth to take several weeks to come in? I feel like Jackie has been teething on and off for weeks and they still haven't broken through.

@meggyme I'm totally in the same boat. He's been chewing and sucking on everything for weeks and the drooling...he drools more than our bulldog and I never thought that could be possible.
Damien's first tooth made its debut...and it's a lower canine! His other lower canine looks like it should be popping up in the next few days.
Wow all these teeth! I feel like Preston is teething hard core but there are no white spots. He's just drooling like crazy and chewing on everything he can get his hands on.

Damien's been drooling excessively and chewing/sucking on everything for so long that I thought I just had a part baby-part dog. I'm glad to finally see some progress! Teething just in time for his first plane trip.
I feel a lower canine trying to push through in Calvin's mouth. Also, it explains why he's been waking up EVERY HOUR the past two nights and only wants to comfort nurse back to sleep.
Cole is playing with his ears and hitting his face a lot... during the day his teething toys help a lot but some nights I have to give him Tylenol bc he's hurting so bad . No white spots yet.

We've had to giveSavannah Tylenol a couple of time because of teething pain. I kind of struggled with giving her medicine but my parents (who are a doctor and nurse practitioner) said that it's totally harmless and reminded me that she is more comfortable and it helps her to sleep which is what she really needs.
I'm a little anxious about teething while nursing. With DS, he didn't get his first tooth until 10.5 months and I stopped nursing around 7 months so I didn't have to worry about it. Madelyn has her hands in her mouth constantly and everyone tells me she's teething, but I don't think anything is that close to breaking through yet.

I'm so worried! Savannah is 4 months and shoving everything in her mouth already! My plan is to BF til 1 year (or as long as I can up to 1 year

Oh wow look at that!!!
This is how our 4 month sleep regression started.
