We had Longhorn for dinner last night, where I ordered all the carbs. As a result, my pre-lunch today is leftover loaded mashed potatoes with a side of bread. I'm in carb heaven.
Stopped at McDonald's after my doctor's appointment: 2 cheeseburger meal + 6 piece McNugget. Co-worker saw and said "you don't eat that stuff"... as the last cheeseburger was being stuffed in my gullet.
So I ate 3 doritos loco tacos today for lunch....and I have no regrets Yum
H hates Taco Bell and said he doesn't want the baby to have it. It's literally the only thing he cares about me eating while pregnant. What I would do to have a cheesy gordita crunch right now!!
@Ifrank12 - oh bummer!! my boss bought us taco bell today for launching a new process....otherwise I probably wouldn't have gotten it...I am trying to avoid fast food for the most part but I do give in when I have a bad craving...like the occasional need for Wendy's french fries
I am trying to eat extra healthy this week, because over the weekend we were visiting some of H's family and at a LOT of really good, really unhealthy food. On Saturday night, it was baby back ribs, salad with pears and poppy seed dressing (super tasty, not that healthy), and this bread... thing. The bread: you cut a loaf of french bread lengthwise, remove all the innards, toast them, mix them with roasted garlic, cheese, more cheese, chives, sour cream, cream cheese, and artichoke hearts. Then you put that mix back into the bread shells and bake it. It's AMAZING. And incredibly unhealthy. And delicious. And then on our way out of town we stopped at this burger place that tastes similar to In-N-Out and got greasy burgers and all the fries. Oh, and we had biscuits and gravy a few hours before the burgers.
Lately I have been making what amounts to homemade Larabars - dates and dried cherries blended to a paste, mixed with almonds and peanuts ground to a coarse flour, plus chocolate chips chopped to fine bits. They taste like flourless cookies. Excellent way to satisfy a sweet tooth without the processed sugar.
And +1 to apples, especially with string cheese or a Babybel mini wheel. Honeycrisps are so good right now.
I've been loving all the miso soup lately. Super bummed that I have to drive a half hour into the city to get some I'm going to have to stock up the next time I'm out there. Currently though I am mowing on a bag of nacho cheese Doritos.
It's crazy how upset I am about this, but I just found out my local Sweet Tomatoes (and all in driving distance to me) have suddenly closed! I loved their salad bar and it was one of my 3 year old's favorite places too. He actually ate salad and veggies there as well. So sad. And now that I know I can't have it, it's all I want. Agh!!!!!
BIL recently made a bunch of bone broth for ramen, so he gave some to H yesterday. Last night we made awesome ramen, with noodles (duh), leftover pork sirloin, shrimp, bell peppers, mushrooms, chives, and baby spinach, with a scoop of peanut butter and a generous drizzle of sriracha and chili paste on top. It was way more filling than I thought it would be, and I had to let H finish mine for me. There are leftovers, so I am hoping I can get to them before H does on my lunch break.
Apparently BIL plans to make this broth regularly now, which means more ramen for us!
We have a bunch of leftover food from our housewarming yesterday. My day so far:
Early breakfast: roll with cheese Snack: cookies Second breakfast: mac and cheese Snack: more cookies First lunch: chips and dip Snack: you guessed it, cookies
I'm about to have a second lunch of chili. H is at a friend's watching the Pats game and I hope he's happy that I spent my day clearing our fridge of leftovers.
It's Canadian Thanksgiving tomorrow, so pretty soon it's going to be turkey with all the trimmings! Although before that hubby and I are going to work on a crockpot chili recipe I found online.
I swear I just ate a half a bag of chocolate chips. Ok maybe a 1/4 but I just couldn't stop. I ate them 4-5 at a time handful after handful until I felt like I was going to be sick. I can't stop with the sweets!
@CornchipLA that actually sounds kind of gross. Lol. Or is it like just eating a bunch of Hersheys Kisses? Either way, please tell me you downed it with milk.
@MrsDramaK@CornchipLA Ohh, I miss being able to enjoy all the chocolate! I'm a huge chocoholic, and I crave it daily, but man the morning sickness and heartburn do NOT like it. I think my post-labor food request might be the world's most giant slice of chocolate cake.
Eating as many as I did was gross lol yes like Hershey's kisses but smaller. Winchester still with the morning sickness? I'm so sorry. You deserve lots of cake when you're done with this
We have a general rule in work that when its your birthday you bring cakes & buns for everyone. There have been a few birthdays when people have been off & as a result weve had buns everyday since friday with more tomorrow.
I posted this in last week's thread but meant for it to go here.
There's an Asian fusion restaurant near my work that has amazing dumplings. Even though I brought my lunch I decided not to eat it so I could get pierogi dumplings with sriracha rice and I covered it all in soy aoli (which from what I can tell is homemade mayo made with soy sauce so it's deliciously creamy and salty).

Eating all the apples this week because fall. But...I also had Wendy's for lunch. Balance?
