Breast pump reccomendations?
I know there was a post a few weeks ago about this, but I cannot find it for the life of me! I am going to be going back to work after baby is born (which I am less than thrilled about) and my hours are EXTRA long. I am a theater teacher, so we have rehearsals after school. Any recommendations for this FTM? I am really nervous about buying one because of the no-return-once-opened policy. But I was hoping to get one before giving birth and maybe the lovely nurses at the hospital can help me with it at first.
The one I was looking at was the Madela Swing Brest Pump. Thoughts?

I have the Medela Pump In Style Advanced and it has worked great for LO #1. I have also heard good things about Ameda pumps.
Our hospital uses Medela pumps and they set me up with one while I was still in the hospital (we didn't buy our pump until we were on our way home from the hospital). It was nice because I got an extra set of tubes, flanges, valves, etc. from the pump at the hospital to take home with me.
I have a cousin who is a lactation specialist and she recommended my first choice (ironically) - the Medela Pump in Style.
You should check with your insurance too, to see if it may be covered. I have an HSA and I can use those funds to buy the pump (not inexpensive) and any accessories. Pretty nifty!
I just don't know if I'll need it - I'll be going back to work part-time, 3 afternoons per week after my 8 week maternity leave. Thoughts?
I used the medela pump in style advanced and thought it was fine. I didn't buy it for a few weeks because I didn't give DS a bottle for a while and (honestly) I was terrified of pumping. haha. but it was great once I went back to work, and pretty discreet which I liked.
my friend has used both that one and the Hygeia double electric (can't remember what it's called) and she said they're comparable. shes' getting more milk with this LO than the first and she EPs so I wonder if the hygeia is actually better... or if it's just luck of the draw that she's getting more.
definitely get a double electric if you're planning to pump any significant amount. I got a single side hand pump first and it was utterly useless for me.
I plan to rent a hospital grade pump from my hospital after birth.

Hands-Free pumping and you can pump anywhere! No need to be near an electric outlet. I could pump at my desk (at work) and still...work! Like many have recommended, I rented a hospital grade pump before opening the box of the Freestyle (you can't return an opened box breast pump). Take a 20% off coupon to BRU, and that's how I purchased mine. I just took it out to inspect everything gearing up for Baby #2, and after 9 months of using the Freestyle, I'm only going to purchase a new spare parts kit so that I'm sure to have optimal suction ($11.00 at Target). I couldn't say more great things about the Freestyle. LOVE IT.
