I'm tooting my horn because I've made it to Tuesday without going crazy. I'm juggling a gazillion things right now, and somehow managing to give each person / thing equal focus and attention.
I was coming down with a head cold and I KICKED IT! Hey there pregnant immune system. Impressive work! Also ate osso bucco at a really fancy restaurant Sunday evening. I know it's not exactly an achievement but boy do I feel like that was a great thing to do. It was freaking delicious.
Oh! and I bought newborn diaps. We won't be TOTALLY unprepared to bring baby home. She'll have somewhere to poop now.
@mamax2 I am! I have some residual coughing/hacking and nose blowing that sounds grosser than it is. I feel bad for everyone who has to listen to it, but I feel pretty fine.
My 'accomplishment' has been finally admitting that I need those motorized carts at the grocery store. It is such a relief to not shuffle around at a snail's pace, all out of breath!
I haven't cried at all through all this hurricane madness and mad dash to move. Not sure if it's just because I'm exhausted or too proud. We started posting a lot of belongings on a local FB yard sale board and have gotten a ton of hits--lots of stuff will be picked up tonight. It's really bittersweet having to leave so suddenly and sell our things. As military it's happened a million times but just seems different this time. We really have enjoyed this home and we've had a lot of good times and are leaving with a lot of memories.
@dmontgo I just have to say that your positive attitude and go with the flow-eyness(is that even a word?) with this whole situation is something I admire.
@Mamax2 I appreciate it. It's not always easy. I tell myself it's just stuff and it's not my identity, but it can get hard emotionally because when you've grown up constantly selling almost all your things you really get attached to your stuff you've gotten to collect. But then there's the practical side of me where it's very "This is part of life and nothing can be done except move forward and get over it." Balancing act, definitely.
The receptionists at the doctors' office said that I was their "gold star patient," since I am always on time and have never cancelled an appointment! I am taking this unofficial award very seriously and intend to put it on my updated resume this afternoon.
I commuted into DC yesterday (not my normal deal) and managed to stay awake the whole time! Truly a third tri feat of strength. Full disclosure - I took a nap as soon as I got home.
Even with a cold, I managed to clean the house, do laundry, run errands, make meals for the family, and get children to stay on routine. Yessss. Now maybe I can get started on that baby room... oh, crap. I just remembered that I said I'd bring in a dish for teacher appreciation lunch and my Dd's school today. Well, better get started! And wear a mask while cooking...
I had a super productive Sunday where I cleaned the house (much more deeply clean than I usually do), and we took DD to a farm for several hours. I was exhausted and in total pain once we got home. But I'm proud of that rare display of stamina.
Yesterday I had a craving for fro-yo and DH consequently got a BOGO coupon via text so we went. I didn't sit there and eat the whole thing I made, rather I saved half and have it in the freezer for a snack today.
After my meltdown of pregnancy woes yesterday (a couple were mentioned in the Monday BF thread), I feel a lot better today - so I call that a win. I think I have one day a week where I just can't hold my feelings in and everything just seems so overwhelming.

My coworker is being a complete butthole and acting like a toddler, complete with fit throwing. But I have reacted calmly and not told him he is a twat. Huge win for today.
@kbduke lol, oh my gosh. Something about you calling your coworker a 'complete butthole' just made me smile. And laugh. Good job not calling him a twat.
I cleaned the house on Friday, hosted friends on Saturday, helped DH put the crib back together and disassembled the bed that was in the baby's room (formally the spare bedroom) and delivered the mattress to my mom's house who needed new ones. So the baby's room is sort of cleaned out. So less stress for sure. But there's still a ton to do!
@kbduke- that's awesome, I would have likely called the person a twat already, the emotions are strong with this one!
Cleaned the house on Sunday! Got rid of all the cardboard that has been piling up with these deliveries and cleaned the whole downstairs. Now my house is clean. I just have to clean the bathrooms when I can breathe again and not take breaks every 30 seconds.
Also, got a lot of work done and the day isn't over yet! I intend to follow up with all my contacts today for one client and get rid of all the old records that meet company criteria. Go me!!!

I'm driving to orientation 65mi each way every day this week so that I can see DS at night rather than letting my new job pay for a room at the Hampton for me for the week.... which means getting up significantly earlier to get there by 0800 than I'd have to if I were staying in town. Totally worth it to see my babe for the couple hrs each evening. And, thus far, I've managed to stay awake in orientation as well as stay perky :-D
Hurricane Matthew hit us pretty hard Saturday. We lost power/water until yesterday afternoon. I picked up a good part of the yard, emptied the fridge of everything, scrubbed it and entertained DS. My back and legs may be hurting today, but I feel accomplished! Also really blessed, a town close to us is still under water and a dam is in danger of breaking in a community nearby. So if you have any T&Ps to spare, send some their way!
Got on the scale at the Dr today (one of those old slide types) and the nurse put it at the 100 pound big block. I said it gotta start on the 150 and she said she never would have guessed that I look so thin overall.
She takes my weight every appointment and makes this mistake every time (hell I started above 150). But today is the first day she said something.
Idk way that made me feel so good this afternoon but it felt like the first "good thing" to happen in a while so I'll take it.
Pretty excited that I've maintained this hectic work schedule while combating allergies or cold or whatever this stupid thing is. It can go away any time now!
I went to infant CPR class yesterday night even though I really, really, REALLY didn't want to. It ended up not being so bad and quite informative. Hopefully I never have to use any of that knowledge, but I feel prepared if I do!
Also, I am getting my real estate business stuff up and running, which is incredibly exciting! If anyone wants a link to my Facebook page, let me know! I will take all of the likes I can get
