I took the day off to use the bank holiday and had it noted in my planner to contact the company that we go through our short term leave to start my maternity leave claim, so I at least didn't miss the cutoff.
Oh man... I talked with such a B who wasn't very nice and just to the point that I was almost in tears (I didn't end up crying but I easily could have) at just how abrupt she was, no matter how many times I explained that this was my first time ever filing a claim and I was just unsure of the whole process. I had called about a month ago just to ask questions, and now I wish I would have just started the claim through that gal I talked with cos she was SUPER nice and didn't make me feel stupid.
I just wish she would have been nicer, especially since this was my first time. Not impressed.

@Kacie209 ugh I hate rude and unhelpful people. How hard is it to just be nice on the phone?
@whitneyp26 definitely have had one of those days before! Hang in there, there are worse things than take out.
I've been having a hell of a day off. I'm just sick of not being able to do simple things like clean my kitchen and get the kids ready. DH is great because he is doing everything but it's frustrating as hell because it's not my way. He puts the groceries away but doesn't organize anything so food just tumbles out of the fridge when I open the door. And I can't find or reach anything in there! He runs the dishes and cleans up after supper but doesn't bother to wipe down the counters or table so there is caked on food everywhere. And he loads the dishes so horribly I just have to rewash them all. So I spent the morning doing all the chores again and by the time I get myself and the girls dressed I can't even stand up anymore. Then I have to get them in the car to go to the pulmonologist which means reinstalling their car seats which I can barely do when I'm well, let alone with SPD. So we get there, and we are on time, and it's 35 minutes before they even call me up for the copay. Spent 2 hours there for a complete waste of time. They sent in a med student who tried to misdiagnose DD, then finally the doctor came in, listened to her lungs for thirty seconds then sent us on our way. Every second I spend on my feet is earned and labored, and I can't waste time on duplication and pointlessness. Ugh and I still need to figure out dinner. But I can't physically stand up right now. So instead I'm on the couch trying to coax DD1 into taking care of DD2.
Life is hard this go around. 3rd tri is about twice as hard as last time so far. I keep trying to think of a situation I would function well in. If there are any job openings for someone to sit in an adult sized floaty and watch awesome movies or play minesweeper, let me know. I could excel at that.
Woke up and it feels like I sprained my ankle. Can't figure out how or what I did to it but it keeps getting worse as the day goes on. The pain is actually extending to my knee now!
I think I overdid it trying to catch up since being released from the hospital because I am just dead tired physically. I'm so far behind my to do list and it's stressing me out.
Our bathroom remodel was scheduled for 3 weeks. Today is the start of week 9 and it was supposed to be done today but the light fixture is wrong. The company ordered the right one but the wrong was delivered. So it's been reordered but now it won't be done until at least Thursday. I'm just so so ready to have my bathroom back. 5 weeks over schedule is crazy even though most wasn't their fault (lots of delays due to materials).
Ugh guys we are having crappy Mondays! Mine would have been okay but the low back/sacral pain is horrible at my desk. I was counting down the minutes until my chiropractor appointment. I went and felt better for a little bit but lugging around groceries has made it mad again. I'm going to make some soup and sit in the bath while it's simmering. This is going to be a loooong final 9 weeks.
OK Positives are all food related. I got cottage cheese and pop tarts at the grocery store.

My new wake up time seems to be 4:00 or 4:30, regardless of what time I go to bed. I am SO tired. Our first wedding anniversary is today and we have reservations at a restaurant I've wanted to go to for years, but all I want to do is go home, crawl in bed, and sleep. I'' going to try for a quick 30 minute cat nap, hopefully it will help.
Also, my allergies are killing me the last week or so. I'm a snotty mess.
My toddler has decided to fall asleep about 2 hours into nap time, which means waking her up and having her be an exhausted bear for the evening. My H is working a side job tonight and he came home just in time for some afternoon meltdowns. He said sorry as he was walking out the door. Ugh.
Also, I'm off pelvic rest because my placenta has moved. This is both a blessing and a curse. The vaginal US wand was a shocking intrusion. I don't want the D. Nope nope nope.
@kacie209 - I'm in the state of mind that i would have asked to speak with someone who isn't such a twatwaffle.
I just want to be able to breathe deeply and eat a full meal. It'll happen again one day. Also I gotta keep reminding myself I no longer have the agility or flexibility that I had a few months ago. Lastly, I think it's wonderful that you are learning the tuba little neighbor kid, and yes it is a lovely day outside for practicing. But you are assaulting my ears.

Mine is pretty petty, but L would only take his afternoon nap if we both were on the floor. Which means I am now trapped on the floor until one of my parents or sisters comes home.

Holy CRAP I needed this today! I have quite a lot to bitch about.
1) We were supposed to do a final walkthrough on our old rental house today, and one of our landlords was supposed to get ahold of us this week to set up a time. THey didn't so yesterday I emailed them and was like, "Hey are we still on for tomorrow?" They didn't answer so we basically decided it wasn't happening and made other plans around my docs appt. THey emailed me at 11:30am saying they would be there at 2, and in my email on Sunday I had told them I had a doc's appt at 1:30. We couldn't be there at 2 and I told them so. They emailed back that they would be there after 2-but I had stuff to do dudes! I emailed them back apologizing but they haven't responded and if they yell at me for making them wait I'll be quite crappy in my email.
2) DS unsnapped his onesie, removed his diaper, and crapped everywhere in his crib then rubbed that crap on his face. His eyes are goopy and the goop reappears after wiping so I'm guessing tomorrow will be taking one of my 1.5 REMAINING SICK DAYS to take him to the doctor to get pink eye meds. Dammit.
3) I just cleaned up ANOTHER POO SPLOSION OMG THE POOP IS INSANE. Second bath of the day, I already did all teh laundry so I washed the poo off but can't wash the onesie himself.
@slartybartfast I hear you on everything being harder this go around. I was a possibly three kid person and I really am unsure after this pregnancy...its totally been sucking.
Today has gone really great considering the circumstances, but I really hate how eager people are to profit off someone else's misfortune. There are still trees on the house and in the yard, and will stay there until the landlord's insurance adjuster looks at everything. So we constantly have a steady stream of people coming to our house saying not that they are sorry or that they hope no one was hurt---but that they hope we will choose them to cut the trees down, or provide commentary on how shitty everything looks. One guy yesterday pulled up so quickly he left tire tracks and said that he wanted to beat everyone else to our house.
I just think it's really shitty for people to do that.
I meal planned on Sat night (for the next week) and made a dinner last night that everyone likes even though I didn't feel like cooking or even want this meal myself. And then NO ONE ate more than a few bites. DS refused to eat anything besides his bread, DD said her stomach hurt and only ate about 6 bites and DH said he filled up on milk so he couldn't finish what was on his plate. Big deal in the scheme of life? No way. Super irritating bc my patience for anything annoying is low these days. Yes!!
Today we went back for a second try at an elective ultrasound. The first was last Monday and Parker wouldn't cooperate. So we go again today and he kept the cord in his face almost the whole time. We finally got a face shot during the last couple minutes. But I was pretty bummed that in two 30 minute appointments (only had to pay once but still it was $100) we hardly saw his sweet face. Oh well. Looking at this makes me feel better about both frustrating scenarios.
@sourlemon- not to be an alarmist, but you're sure it's not like, a blood clot or anything (I think some antibiotics can cause them, etc)? Seems to be an odd symptom unless you know you rolled your ankle (or whatnot)....
@Toller that was my first thought because the doctor said to watch out for it after my hospital visit and with all the antibiotics. But it only hurts when weight baring or I'm spinning it...I guess I would expect a blood clots to hurt no matter what? I have an appointment tomorrow and if it's still hurting at all I'm definitely bringing it up.
Eta: I also had looked up other symptoms of a blood clot and I don't have them. Just this pain.
I want to be able to eat and move without my ribs feeling invaded. He's all squished up there today and it's awful. This happens about once a week. It hurts!! And it makes me freak out that he's going to be breech like I was.

These babies are changing positions and driving me nuts! Movement is different again than it was last week and with two it's hard enough to try to figure out who's who. Makes me so freaking anxious. And OB had me do an hour NST and biophysical profile last week due to change in movement.... I'm nervous to even say anything. They're both moving, but it's just different all of the sudden. Concern?
My BF was going to be that we don't have water, but we got it back earlier! We have a boil advisory for at least 48 hours but happy to flush toilets again!
I just contacted like 50 people that did not rsvp to baby shower invitation. Ugh...found out a handful did rsvp but the list was not updated then another handful just didn't receive invitations at all. I feel a little frustrated with it all. The invites went out later than they should have too. :-( I'm grateful to the person who is throwing the shower and all but it feels discombobulated.
@CMarie9980 I sent out a FB event invite because my (awesome) mom is not good at invites or electronic invites for that matter. People check FB, so that's usually what I go with. And it's free.
My BF is that I am sick, congested, sore throat, and feeling dumpy. But I managed to be a useful person all day until about 7, my body just told me to F off pretty much. My back, acid reflux, BH, and Lucas is on go mode. I'm just waiting to go to bed so I'm not up in the MOTN again. On top of that, I feel so huge, it's killin me. Everything seems so much more difficult, I can't believe I have 8 weeks left of this....
@yellingbanana Nooo! I now have all the sympathy for sick pregnant ladies after my horrific week with a cold. I think I would take the plague unpregnant over a head cold while pregnant. Hoping you feel better soon. Sickies are the worst right now.
Ugh, people and RSVPs! I had a shower on Sunday hosted by a couple friends. One of them reached out to me sometime last week and asked if I knew the status on some invitees as she hadn't heard anything yet. I told her that some out of town friends probably wouldn't make it, so count them out. I knew a cousins wife probably wasn't going to make it (she did eventually RSVP), and a few local friends I wasn't sure on... but one I told if she wanted to come, great if not, no worries (still didn't RSVP, though)... and the other is definitely a millennial who NEVER RSVPs for anything. Kind of annoying, regardless. It all worked out, but sucks for those planning stuff... which has always been a pet peeve of mine when planning parties for people, or our wedding.

My other BF goes out to my coworker and boss. We were scheduled to have yesterday off (Columbus Day) but we used the day when the office moved. My coworker and I worked that day anyways since we work off-site. So she had asked if we had Columbus Day off and boss said yes. Then last week he changes his mind and says we have to work. Hey, I don't mind, Columbus Day is NOT a holiday in my book. But my coworker was pissed because she had made plans. So she cancels them and works. THEN my boss tells her he is LEAVING EARLY. WTF!? She went off on him, sent him a text message telling him how shitty that was because he knew she had plans and school work to do but she worked today, and now she sees the reason why was so he could leave early. She can be a bit of a hot head so I normally cool her down before she does stuff like this, so I'm here telling her that was a bad move and reflects poorly on her. She doesn't care, she's sick of him pulling stuff like this and is going to call him out on it. I just distance myself from it. He ended up apologizing and giving her 2 days off, so now she is off today. And she didn't give me a heads up. So now I have to do my job on top of hers. Happy Tuesday...

@phoenix870509 - gar- I hate it when the squeaky wheel gets the oil (undeservedly). (or however that saying goes!!) that happens a lot at my workplace too.Definitely don't forget to mention that to him
@DiFazette - movement is movement to me?? I don't even know if i'd be able to tell quickly if something was wrong- for whatever reason my kids (as DD did it too) seem to have a really active day followed by a few quiet ones...
I've been "feeling less" from baby boy, but when the nurse listened to his heartbeat last week, she said it sounded like he had his back to the outside. And if they kick to the inside or each other, I definitely can't tell who is who.The twins thing makes it so much more difficult since you can't just recall if you felt movement that day- it's like "oh shoot- WHICH SIDE WAS THAT ON???"
I know its not Monday but...I haz more BFing. I have been told in school this year by the principal so far that there were three things I was no longer allowed to do: 1) I can't have kids put their heads down to indicate being finished with something because the principal gets bad catholic school flashbacks from it (this was the actual reason he gave), 2) I can't use my line chant, which I have been using with my students for 3 years now so they are used to it, because he witnessed one class being too loud with the chant 1 time so he thinks it riles them up AND TODAYS NEW ONE 3) I can no longer use my attention getters (123, eyes on me, do this if you can hear me, etc) I have to EXCLUSIVELY use the chime that i only have because i paid for it with my own money because he thinks they ignore my attention getters and experienced 1 time where the chime worked with him in another classroom. I haven't ever used the chime in teh classroom because i don't find it calming and when the chime is used when I am flustered, I feel like that is reflected in teh number of times I hit it or how loud I hit it, and it doesn't calm them or me down. So now I have to change YET ANOTHER routine I have had with the same kids for 3 years on a random whim of my principal's that is not research based. He is sucking all of the autonomy out of my job, and I have this feeling he is just trying to see if he can piss me off so he can yell at me again for being negative.
Technically Tuesday but I started bitching about it yesterday...I have to go into the office to train a new hire today. It's an hour and a half drive each way. I spend half my day in the car and the other half getting none of my own stuff done while I train. Such a waste of a day.
@SmashJam ugh that sounds terrible. I've been on the other side of that, where my principal wanted me to use different strategies because 'everyone else uses them' but I teach a special ed class for kids with autism (on a gen ed campus), so a lot of the 'normal' strategies dont work! It's frustrating when they come in for a few minutes and try to tell you how to do things!
Oh... @smashjam I'd say "oh, sure no problem!". Then continue your usual stuff. If he walks in and asks why you haven't switched, just say "oh, must have forgotten. I guess I'm just stuck in a routine and the students respond so well." Make sure to smile the whole time
It's not Monday, but I received my BF in the mail today. Blue Cross Blue Shield is pulling out of the Healthcare Marketplace in Tennessee this year, which means that me, DH, and 100,000 of my closest friends will be without insurance on December 31st. Thankfully, it won't affect the baby's birth, but it's such a mess to figure out which plans cover his doctors, my doctors, and the baby's pediatrician, plus trying to get a straight answer out of any of these insurance companies about ANYTHING. Definitely not what I wanted to deal with during my last trimester.
