Friday - today was the last day for DH, DS and I to hang out all together until Thanksgiving and then maternity leave.... starting tomorrow DH works 12's every Sat/Sun and I start my new job Mon-Fri. On a positive note, we found out today that the Board of Nursing approved DH's application and he is Officially a Licensed Nurse Practitioner!! Woohoo! We Also found out today from our lender what we're approved for and it's what we were hoping for to go for the houses we've been looking at! So, a good news day :-)
Sat - DH will be working, I'll just be hanging out soaking up every minute with DS before heading back to work I'm going to miss him sooo much!!!
Sun - Repeat Saturday, add in my FIL is coming to town for a week to help DH with house projects to get it ready to sell
Friday - worked, got a massage and watched Now You See Me 2
Today - leaving for work hella early to deal with security downtown for the presidential debate. 8 years ago I worked at the Gateway Arch and (not yet then) President Obama was giving a speech there. It was chaos. I had to have a security escort from the parking garage to my post and go thru all sorts of checks. I can only imagine what today will bring.
Sunday - football. Annnnnd something delicious will be going in the slow cooker. can't wait!
Me:27 H:30 Till death do us part: 7.2.2011 Trying to conceive since 01.2014 Low AFC and azoospermia IVF #1 03.2016 - BFP 03.28.2016 Due: 12.05.2016
@maamawaabangi I can't imagine going through 8 years of life without seeing star wars! Do you do it for the big "I am your father" surprise or another reason. Half my friends delay viewing it too until 8-10. I just can't even imagine not spilling the beans for that long! Of course, we are kinda star wars freaks. The 2 year old already knows characters and has seen all 7 multiple times (well as much as her attention span allowed).
I'm hoping to get released from the hospital today. No idea if/when that's actually going to happen but I miss my bed, kiddo, and dogs. Today I think DH and DD will visit at least. Otherwise lots of laying around. Finally the tv started working yesterday so at least there's that.
If I get released today, the rest of today will just be taking it easy...and taking a long shower! The rest of the weekend probably just depends on how things go. I had lots of plans since it's a 3 day...but...oh well.
I will be somewhat packing my real hospital bag and baby's bag...just in case.
Do we have any mamas who were in the path of Matthew? I hope everyone is safe with minimal to no damage. NC is about to get railed and my area is notorious for losing power. @dmontgo - I saw some pretty nasty flooding in your neck of the woods already. Stay safe!
I came down with a bug and things have been feeling off so I've been doing a lot of laying around. Midwives said keep horizontal while my BH are going nuts - which is any time I stand up and so that may be my weekend. I'm thinking that it's a baby growth spurt and my body is just reacting to it funny.
We do have our birthing center tour today which will be exciting. tomorrow night DH and I go out for his bday to a fancy restaurant and a play (we got season tickets to our little local theater for Christmas last year so that's why we're always going to plays)
My shower is today and I'm trying to get excited but am so tired. I am sick and have been having a lot of back pain so I haven't slept well all week. The in laws are in town for the shower so we have dinner plans with them tonight and then tomorrow MIL wants to go shopping for anything we still need after the shower. But then they'll go home and I have Monday off so hoping to get some rest then.
wahoo it's the weekend! today we have the home security guy here to install some cameras and beef up our system after a bunch of break-ins in our neighborhood. DD1 has a play date later and i have some errands to run. hoping to do some baking (Pumpkin roll anyone?) but my pelvic pain may sideline me, i think LO has moved into a new position and it's putting huge pressure on my joints, i woke up in pain this morning which is unusual since i typically feel my best in the morning. tomorrow will probably be for actually doing all the stuff i want to do today and don't get to and then Monday is a day off! what should i do with my extra day??? oh the possibilities!
@DiFazette Yeah this Matthew guy sucks--we have a massive leak in our ceiling. Every mixing bowl we have is collecting water. Good thing it's a rental? Trying to keep calm and not stress after yesterday (I'm not sure if saw what happened). Just. Trying. To. Relax. Sigh.
For us it's chores, I'm going to work on my hospital bag list and then it's SEC football until I fall asleep tonight. I love low key Saturday's. Trying to soak it all in because a new normal is headed our way in just a few weeks.
@sourlemon My pregnancy brain took half this thread to figure out who Matthew was. "We're sending you Matthew." "Who's dealing with Matthew?" And I'm over here wondering "Who is Matthew?"
Don't worry guys, I belatedly realized we're talking about a hurricane not a person. I swear I can barely read these days.
@sourlemon I hope your husband has learned his lesson! Haha. Who names these things? Why not just refer to all hurricanes as "that big ass storm"? But then again, I'm lazy...
@dmontgo did not see your update. Between DS' fall/ER visit earlier this week, him popping stitches requiring another visit and now severe asthma symptoms from him I barely know my own name. I'll go take a look. Sorry about your roof!!!
In laws in town and baby shower tomorrow. Trying to get excited but I haven't been feeling well and I'm afraid anxiety has gotten the best of me. Starting to worry about what's going to happen once baby gets here and all the stuff I still have to do before then.
I just got released from the hospital! First stop is to pick up DD, then meds, but then...shower! I'm so excited it's ridiculous. I wasn't allowed to shower that whole time.
I guess you can add canoeing or scuba diving to my weekend plans--my street is completely flooded and still rising. It's almost all the way up our neighbor's driveway, and has taken up a good chunk of our yard. Backyard is entirely flooded. A few cars have tried to drive out and they got stalled and are now stuck in the street. We're safe and dry for now--we bought groceries and snacks on Thursday to prepare--but gosh I didn't expect things to get like this!
@DiFazette I'm so sorry about your son!! Thinking of him and you, and that he has a speedy recovery!
This morning we went and picked paint out for our guest bedroom. I was in no rush to get it done, but DH must be nesting because he wants to paint while I'm gone next weekend.
I have a baby shower to go to this afternoon for a girlfriend due 4 weeks ahead of me. It's getting really real for her, which makes it more real for me.
After the shower I think DH and I are going to go to dinner and see The Girl On The Train.
No plans for tomorrow. Hopefully a hike, then laziness. I'm on fall break so all my errands can wait!
@dmontgo yikes! I hope the water doesn't get much higher.
Our weekend is boring, thankfully. We ran a bunch of errands this morning and then both DH and I took naps haha. Tomorrow we'll watch football and I have prenatal yoga. DH is making braised beef sliders and I'm excited about that!
A tree just fell on our house--uprooted from the wet soil. Another tree next to it is about come down too. The first tree didn't break through the roof, but it's still on the house. Several streets are under water and it's not safe to drive anywhere.
Any good thoughts are appreciated--I am trying to be very, very zen right now but I'm about to freak out. Trying to keep my BP lowered by eating Halloween candy...because that's a healthy coping mechanism, right?
@dmontgo I'm glad your house is a rental. I'm sure you're not thrilled with the current situation but I'd imagine if it was a house i owned there would be no keeping my bp down. But how scary!
Time to move to Arizona where we don't have real weather events! Just saying...
@sourlemon it's just a rite of passage in our family... and at that age so that they can "get it" and also enjoy it more. It was a bigger deal with our sons, I don't image this particular daughter really being that into it, but each year they get to watch the next one.
@gowenc really? Did you love it there? I know some don't... but the movie was really a accurate protrayal of life there I think! I was there 10 weeks in 2011, and am planning a return trip with our oldest son once this baby isn't nursing or needing me so exclusively, or I might take the baby along with us. Personally, I we didn't have things here I'd be open to moving there... however my husband felt very stressed out being there... but I don't think he got a chance to relax into it like I did.
@sourlemon Yeah right about now I'm dreaming about all the places I could be...like Italy....haha. But I am very glad we don't own this house--it's going to cost at least a few grand to deal with all this damage. Hopefully no more trees fall on us. I mean...we just finished the nursery not too long ago! :P
Had my friends and family shower today. It was gloriously perfect. My sweet boy is so loved and we are so grateful.
Tomorrow is maternity photo shoot day! So excited.
West GA isn't getting any Matthew business except for some crazy wind. It's been a beautiful fall day actually. Thoughts to y'all dealing with the true storm!
Husband works 3-11 on Saturdays, so I am home with the kiddo. I went to prenatal yoga this morning, then when she got up from a nap, we went for a decent-sized walk. Came home and made some egg burritos for dinner. This weekend is pretty much me trying to get my GD diet figured out before my actual appointment with the dietician.
Sunday, husband will work on the bathroom we're remodeling. I plan to get some housework done. I have to do an open house in the afternoon. Maybe another walk or visit his grandmother. Oh, and make a vat of chicken and brown rice soup!
*SIGGY* Baby G born 6/6/14, 37 weeks 1 day due to preeclampsia. 5lb12oz 19" #2 due Christmas 2016.
I spent three hours today cleaning the vacuum. Like unscrewing every peice and taking it all apart. Why?!?! Damn nesting, at least come up with a task more useful than that. Our new house is 80% tile anyways...
Well, 3 or 4 more trees fell at my house. One took out a huge chunk of our fence. Glad we moved our car or it would have been crushed. The garage ceiling sprung a huge leak and leaked all over some technical equipment I have stored. The living room has multiple leaks. We will probably have to move. There's just so much damage. Lots of mixed feelings going through my head right now. Tomorrow the landlord comes by to assess the damage, so fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse. Fuck.
@Kate08Young Yes we do...I'm just mad as hell. I'm frustrated that I'm trying to deal with pregnancy and crap and this happened. Trying to look at the bright side, but it's still frustrating.

Go see it!!! It's SO good and so accurate to real Uganda... everything was stinking spot on! Such a good story too.
We had friends over had some Rolex (a UG street food), Ugandan chai and ginger soda and then went to the movie! It was perfect.
My 4th child (daughter) turns 8 on Sunday and we allow them to watch Star Wars for
rhe 1st time at 8.. so that will be sweet!
