I'm really neither. My life is so much easier without a pet. My husband talked me into a dog for my son because we thought he was going to be an only child. He said he needed a companion. As soon as we got the dog, guess what? Pregnant. Lol.

What's new with your little babe this week? How many weeks are you?
27 weeks! Baby is the size of lettuce, a head of cauliflower, or a bunch of bananas. That seems really big to me! She can open her eyes and apparently can distinguish between our voices.

Are you doing anything this week to prepare for your baby's arrival?
Still freaking out about my registry. It seems like every day someone tells me I didn't register for something I need, or I registered for something that doesn't make sense......ahhh it's so stressful! I keep trying to tell people that if we don't get something we need, we will just buy it ourselves but I guess that's not a good enough response.

Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
I'm feeling very stressed out and anxious about all of the things we still need to do. I feel like I can't really do much until after our baby showers, and I hate feeling like I just have to wait. I'm a super planner and organizer, and the state of our nursery definitely has me freaking out.

When's your next appointment?
Thursday, 10/13, for the one hour glucose test. Here's hoping I pass....I've been eating sweets like a maniac, so I'm sure that's not going to benefit me in any way.

Cat (we have two). I've never had a dog, so I imagine if we got one I would become a dog person too. We've talked about getting a dog but that's off the table until we have kids that are old enough to beg for one.

Are you doing anything this week to prepare for your baby's arrival? I ordered my new breast pump through insurance today. I'm way too excited about it but considering I had to pay $300 for one my last pregnancy, I deserve to be!

Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions: I'm tired of the unknown when it comes to my short cervix. I'm scared to do anything. It's all I think about and it's making time drag by even slower.

When's your next appointment? Wednesday 10/12 I have two appts. First one with the MFM to recheck cervix length. Second one with my OB for the glucose test.

Both! Although we only have a cat right now, I've always grown up with dogs. We'll probably wait to get one once the kiddos are old enough to help take care of it. Here's a pic of my Leo the Bengal cat.

27 weeks today! I can't believe how quickly this is going by and she is moving around so much lately!

I'm spending every extra minute in the nursery. I have so much to do still!

Braxton hicks are a pain, birth plans are a pain, I have to decide what breast pump I want, I'm writing an official email to my boss about my maternity leave plan, and I am starting to notice stretchmarks...which I didn't notice until right before DD1 was born so I feel huge.

When's your next appointment?
November 1st! I was borderline anemic at my last appointment so they're watching that and telling me to watch how much weight I'm gaining.

I'm definitely both. I love dogs and cats, but I'm a big dog kinda gal. I love being able to snuggle up with my dog at the end of the day.

24 WEEKS!!! VIABABILITY!!! WOOT WOOT! The babe is the size of a GI Joe doll, Puffin, Foot long sandwich or an ear of corn
Are you doing anything this week to prepare for your baby's arrival?

I have been working on the dresser and rocker and hope to finish painting those up this weekend. Tomorrow is my birthday, so I told DH that I want him to finish paining the rocker for my birthday... We'll see.

Had a fetal echocardiogram today and everything looks perfect! That was the last of the big tests so we are pretty thrilled!! We have graduated from MFM!!

Both!! When my husband and I met I had a cat and a dog. The cat has since passed and he is allergic so no more cats for me We currently have a standard poodle and he is the BEST dog ever. He had surgery last week so he is a little sad and mopey right now... But this is him during happier times!

26 weeks! Almost the third trimester... HOW CRAZY?!!?

We just closed on our house this Tuesday so moving all weekend and getting stuff set up... holy stress level! But it will all be worth. Having a really hard time having to ask for help, I just want it done quickly!

Dog. I absolutely loved my dog, he was a my best bud for 4 years and the most easy going loveable dog, but died suddenly right after I got pregnant. Don't know if I'll ever be able to have another...

26 weeks! Counting down to 3rd trimester (when does it officially start??)

Are you doing anything this week to prepare for your baby's arrival?
Interviewed 2 pediatricians this week. I think I preferred 1 over the other, but glad I have some time to mull it over before making a decision.
Also made some progress clearing some of my crap out of the nursery. Our bathroom reno is set to start in 2 weeks and my goal is to have everything out of the nursery by then. Once the demo is done and cleaned up well start painting in there and set up the furniture.

Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
My back is so sore every night and it makes it hard to get comfortable in bed. It's also a reminder of how huge I am - I think my muscles are just really straining from all the extra weight. Also I've given up on uninterrupted sleep. It's pretty much a guarantee at this point that I'll wake up between 2-4 AM and be wide awake for at least a couple of hours.
On the other hand, maybe this is weird, but I'm kind of starting to look forward to labor. I actually feel confident that I'll be able to handle it; hopefully that feeling lasts till the end.

10/18 for 28 week checkup and glucose screen

GTKY:
Dog all the way. We adopted a puppy a year ago and I am totally in love with her. I really hesitated because my husband had never had any sort of pet before and I didn't know how he'd handle having a dog in the house and the added responsibility, etc. But we really lucked out because she's an amazing dog AND it turns out he's pretty great with dogs. I told him recently it's the best decision we've made together (because having children was always a given).

25 weeks! Baby is the size of a prairie dog! Belly button still in an awkwardly hilarious half-in-half-stage.

Are you doing anything this week to prepare for your baby's arrival?

Wonderful husband (who has stronger nesting instincts than I do) took the doors off the closet to make a really cute changing nook/open closet. The room looks so much more spacious now, I'm definitely seeing how we'll be able to fit a crib in there while keeping the double bed in the room (for the visiting moms).

My belly has started to get a little uncomfortable, but now we can see the baby kicking from the outside, so that totally makes up for it!

When's your next appointment?

I'm probably going to the lab this weekend for the glucose tolerance test. My next doctor's appointment is week after next, just routine weight & blood pressure check.

We have a fabulous cat who thinks she's a dog! She also loves the pregnancy pillow.
