UO 10/6

Re: UO 10/6

  • On the vacation theme, I cannot do beach vacations. Did one. Dear lord, no. If I tried to stay in the same hotel for six nights in a row I would wither and die.

We move a lot. We stayed at 8 hotels in 16 nights when we went to the British Isles. Last trip we did 11 hotels in 16 nights, and it was awesome.

Our vacations are exhausting train/ferry/road trips of craziness, and I LOOVE THEM.

  • I have to have flannel sheets, flannel shirts and I occasionally rock my knock off Ugg boots to take the dog out (too cheap to buy the real ones). All of these things are necessary in Ohio with the snow and freezing cold winters!
  • Oh man, I love all things flannel...we keep our flannel sheets on year round, because I'm always cold. DH just sleeps on top of them lol

    +1 on no flannel sheets

    I also hate silk sheets.

Give me good ol 100% cotton- not cotton sateen, just cotton.

Edit: Must be high thread count cotton.
  • I hate flannel shirts too. Noooo thank you.

    I've also wanted sex nonstop.

  • +1 to silk sheet hatred. And really, silky anything. It feels... slimy? against my skin.

  • I'll take silk/satin over flannel.
My preference is cotton, 800TC or higher.
  • Im also not a fan of beach holidays. I dislike sand intensely.
  • I thought the thread count thing was not as important as blend or something like that. Lemme find the article
  • @BumpasaurusRex Ireland is beautiful and I loved visiting there!!  Highly recommended, however I think other spots in Europe actually have more culture depending on what you are looking for (and the food isn't great, unless you love fish & chips for days!).

I guess everyone has really different opinions on this sort of thing. I wouldn't say other places have more culture, perhaps different culture or different experiences. And I know there is a lot more to eat then fish and chips. My first thought of the food was not fish and chips at all.

@BumpasaurusRex I don't know anyone who vacationed in Ireland and didn't have an amazing trip. I do agree there are many great places to visit in Europe.
  • @janefelicity I meant no offense about the fish and chips!  I love Ireland and have extended family living there, I just don't think of it as a culinary destination (but maybe that's just me) and that's one of the things I go for in my vacations.
I also second visiting the Cliffs of Moher like the PP and also the Aran Islands.

Can some of you horn dogs send me some sex drive? I'm all out. Can't find a comfortable position either.
This almost made tea come out of my nose!  :D

I wish I knew where it came from, because I'd tap into it for the rest of my life! lol

Interesting! I usually buy Egyptian cotton because I love the feel of it.

Also, aren't there some haunted castles in Ireland?

    ::nerd alert::

  • On the snuggle worthy sheets... I'm always cold, and in ohio it can be very cold at times. A couple years ago, my grandma bought us a fleece sheet set to help keep me warm and they are amazing!!!! We can only use them in the winter because they get to hot, but I need a lot more sets of those!

And we have silk summer sheets, my husband won't use the pillowcase because his pillow kept slipping behind the bed during the night lol

Sex positions... the only way I've been able to reach the big O (or breathe) the last couple months was with me on top... now I'm starting to feel like my growing belly is causing me distraction... what do you girls do, or does your new body not affect your personal sexy feelings about yourself?

  • It does definitely affect my sexy feelings about myself @kswiger06, but I can basically push through it. I don't love being on top, but do it sometimes because H enjoys it. I'm definitely happier and less self conscious with side by side.

  • I definitely googled some pregnancy positions and was pretty surprised at the options that came up.. I haven't tried anything fancy yet but I'm ready to give it a go before I get too big.

I vacationed in Ireland, and 2/3 of my trip was AWFUL because I broke my ankle on the fourth day and HOLY GOD was the hospital experience horrendous, and then after that, most of Ireland is not handicap-accessible.  So.  Special case.  But still.
  • +1 team Ireland was awesome. I don't think I've had a bad trip anywhere though :)

@krob aweesoome! if you have a car, I  <3<3<3'd the Cotswolds. I remember loving walking all over London too, but no particular landmark snacks me in the memory. Have fun!

Well, now I can say I know of one person who found it awful. :)

Edit I wanted to add, That does sound awful  sorry your trip went that way.
  • I can't be on top with H.
  • Yep. I don't get on top either, it's so uncomfortable for me. We do a lot of the spooning position because it's comfortable and we both are able to enjoy it.

Just curious why not... like it's uncomfortable or you guys just don't enjoy it in general?

  • Re: sex i love being on top but sometimes i cant find the right position, so we just switch. That said, anyone else super horny but sex is slightly painful? Like, still fun, but I feel sore during (not after)
  • +1 for painful :( We've only even tried a few times and each time it's like I have to grit my teeth through it. I told him I want to try again though - hoping maybe lube and a sloooow pace will help...
