On the vacation theme, I cannot do beach vacations. Did one. Dear lord, no. If I tried to stay in the same hotel for six nights in a row I would wither and die.
We move a lot. We stayed at 8 hotels in 16 nights when we went to the British Isles. Last trip we did 11 hotels in 16 nights, and it was awesome.
Our vacations are exhausting train/ferry/road trips of craziness, and I LOOVE THEM.
I have to have flannel sheets, flannel shirts and I occasionally rock my knock off Ugg boots to take the dog out (too cheap to buy the real ones). All of these things are necessary in Ohio with the snow and freezing cold winters!
@BumpasaurusRex come to ireland, its great! But be prepared for rain cause it rains here a lot & is never that warm! Also we have great food, its not all fish & chips.
I love flannel. I'm in the PNW, so I think it's a residency requirement. Plus it's cozy, classic, and matches everything. I just looked down and realized I'm wearing a flannel shirt right now.
I want to take all the vacations, and would never turn one down! But beach vacations are boring AF. Give me an immersive cultural experience in a new country with LOTS of food and even more wine and long leisurely strolls and misadventures on strange public transport systems. And then some more food and wine. And coffee. And pastries. And more wine.
@PerraSucia you are speaking my language with this article. I have SERIOUS THOUGHTS about sheets. Some people buy shoes when they are stressed out. I buy sheets. I celebrate promotions with duvet covers. My bed is my happy place. I have had to institute a "one in, one out" policy with sheet sets, because our current linen closet is small. Someday, I will have a room just for linens.
Also, I agree with the silk/satin sheet hate. As to flannel sheets: there is a time and place for flannel sheets, but, like any other sheet set the quality of the material MATTERS.
@BumpasaurusRex Ireland is beautiful and I loved visiting there!! Highly recommended, however I think other spots in Europe actually have more culture depending on what you are looking for (and the food isn't great, unless you love fish & chips for days!).
I guess everyone has really different opinions on this sort of thing. I wouldn't say other places have more culture, perhaps different culture or different experiences. And I know there is a lot more to eat then fish and chips. My first thought of the food was not fish and chips at all.
@BumpasaurusRex I don't know anyone who vacationed in Ireland and didn't have an amazing trip. I do agree there are many great places to visit in Europe.
@janefelicity I meant no offense about the fish and chips! I love Ireland and have extended family living there, I just don't think of it as a culinary destination (but maybe that's just me) and that's one of the things I go for in my vacations. I also second visiting the Cliffs of Moher like the PP and also the Aran Islands.
I can't wait for my babymoon. I'm not a beach vaca person either. I won't turn it down, but I can definitely see it not being very fun pregnant.
AW warning: We are headed to London in 2 weeks for 7 days and I can't wait. We are going as a part of H's job so we will go to the Rams vs Giants game that': being played there. We are also going to an Arsenal soccer match. (Side note: if you are a sports fan there is nothing like watching a premier league match in person. even crazier than US college football).
The rest of the time I plan to eat all the food and drink all the tea. I am sad that visiting the pubs won't be quite the same.

On the snuggle worthy sheets... I'm always cold, and in ohio it can be very cold at times. A couple years ago, my grandma bought us a fleece sheet set to help keep me warm and they are amazing!!!! We can only use them in the winter because they get to hot, but I need a lot more sets of those!
And we have silk summer sheets, my husband won't use the pillowcase because his pillow kept slipping behind the bed during the night lol
Sex positions... the only way I've been able to reach the big O (or breathe) the last couple months was with me on top... now I'm starting to feel like my growing belly is causing me distraction... what do you girls do, or does your new body not affect your personal sexy feelings about yourself?
It does definitely affect my sexy feelings about myself @kswiger06, but I can basically push through it. I don't love being on top, but do it sometimes because H enjoys it. I'm definitely happier and less self conscious with side by side.
I don't feel so sexy on top, so I prefer from the back or him "on top" but more like sitting up coming at me from straight on. Lol does that make sense?
I like being on top the best, but at this point my bump is starting to get in the way more. Unless I flip around (reverse cowgirl?), which H loves. Otherwise spooning, side by side seems to be the most comfortable for me.
Oh and for you ladies lacking a sex drive... Mine returned full force out of nowhere last night, so yours might just come back out of the blue too!
I definitely googled some pregnancy positions and was pretty surprised at the options that came up.. I haven't tried anything fancy yet but I'm ready to give it a go before I get too big.

I vacationed in Ireland, and 2/3 of my trip was AWFUL because I broke my ankle on the fourth day and HOLY GOD was the hospital experience horrendous, and then after that, most of Ireland is not handicap-accessible. So. Special case. But still.
+1 team Ireland was awesome. I don't think I've had a bad trip anywhere though
@krob aweesoome! if you have a car, I 'd the Cotswolds. I remember loving walking all over London too, but no particular landmark snacks me in the memory. Have fun!

Well, now I can say I know of one person who found it awful.
Edit I wanted to add, That does sound awful sorry your trip went that way.
Yep. I don't get on top either, it's so uncomfortable for me. We do a lot of the spooning position because it's comfortable and we both are able to enjoy it.
Re: sex i love being on top but sometimes i cant find the right position, so we just switch. That said, anyone else super horny but sex is slightly painful? Like, still fun, but I feel sore during (not after)
I have never been able to get there on top even after tutorials from friends. If I do get on top it's to see if I "still got it" but it's purely for his pleasure. No position feels good and that's sad because 1st tri I was raging for it. Now it just hurts and my SO always finds himself in the mood when I'm super gassy. Oh the concentration!
+1 for painful We've only even tried a few times and each time it's like I have to grit my teeth through it. I told him I want to try again though - hoping maybe lube and a sloooow pace will help...

I also hate silk sheets.
Give me good ol 100% cotton- not cotton sateen, just cotton.
Edit: Must be high thread count cotton.
I've also wanted sex nonstop.
My preference is cotton, 800TC or higher.
