@hartmich So sorry to hear about your grandfather - sending good thoughts for you and your family.
@purplg8r Thinking of you (and any others!) through the storm! Stay safe and keep us posted!
@manillabar My H was the same way!! And his alarm used to be SO LOUD to wake him up so it would go off for a while before he would even wake up to press snooze... and the same thing would happen for another hour. It. Drove. Me. NUTS. So I decided to set my OWN alarm for him. Just loud enough to wake me up (and not scare me to death). Then I turn if off (no. snooze. option) and poke him to wake him up (which is MUCH easier for me to fall asleep after than the hour of PANICKING every 9 minutes with what sounded like a fire alarm) - if he doesn't, he just has to wait until the second alarm (mine) goes off. He has learned quickly to get up the first time. Month/Cycle: 2/2
CD: 4
WAYDTGKU: Charting/temping. And now that AF is finally on her way OUT (yay!), going to start CP/CM charting for the first time. OPTs at the ready when FF starts to indicate I'm close.
R/R: none today
CS/Q: My last cycle was abnormally long (44 days vs. usual 31... this caused me lots of false hope and SS but I won't get into that now) and since I hadn't started charting until a few days before AF arrived, FF isn't predicting I O this cycle until CD 29. So my question is: I've put in my usual cycle is 31 days, but FF is still using my last cycle length (44 days) for this one. Anyway to override it and force it to my normal cycle length?
GTKY: When trick-or-treating as a kid, was there any kind of candy that you didn't like to get? As with others on here, I hated (still do) candy corn and tootsie rolls! (Crunch bars were my favorite)
Me: 28 I MH: 27 Married August 2016 TTC #1 September 2016 BFP 10/31/16 EDD 7/16/17
R/R: AF finally came with a vengeance. Cramps are serious right now, ugh! Looking forward to a new cycle!!
CS/Q: none
GTKY: When trick-or-treating as a kid, was there any kind of candy that you didn't like to get? Was never a tootsie roll fan, my mom never let me eat them because she thought people could poison them haha
@hartmich sorry to hear about your grandfather! Hoping things all start to turn around for you!
@ayoungvoice Tootsie Rolls only taste good if you take the wrapper off and throw it in the garbage and then eat a starburst instead- because tootsie rolls are horrible and evil and probably from the devil himself and starbursts are tiny squares of happiness, lol
R/R: I've been home visiting family so it's a different time zone, different waking times, and piss poor sleep with me, H, and the dog in a full size bed. So I haven't temped in a week. CM says that O is coming up but CBDA says low and the Wondfos are lighter than they have ever been at this point. TW I know that things change even without a loss and that changes are expected after a loss but I still hate that the uncertainty is part of the whole crappy thing.
CS/Q:
GTKY: Necco wafers are given out by cheap people who hate children and happiness.

@Aurora1973 Oh wow, that sounds like such a cluster! Hopefully things will go better at your RE though and you get good results. Fx for you and DH. @ayoungvoice yes, TTC can be very lonely. I feel like there aren't many (really, ANY) people besides DH that I can talk to IRL about this whole process. And even as great as DH is, its not the same as talking to another woman. It makes me very, very grateful for the women in this community.
**tw loss mentioned** @ayoungvoice this community has been amazing. I lurked mostly when I was starting to TTC in april, and then we got ku so I didnt really participate. but then In July I had a miscarriage and that same day I was on the ttcal board posting and getting advice. I came back to this board in august when we got back on the ttc train, mostly because the ttcal board isnt as organized, and have felt nothing but love! Yesterday was super hard for me, and the comments and loves were amazing. I dont have anyone but my mom to really talk to about TTC and it came super easy to her, so I dont know what I would do with out this board and these people!

WAYDTGKU: waiting for AF to leave, vitamins/supplements/teas, Metformin, temping/charting...
R/R: In hurricane mode at the moment...we're fully prepared and just waiting to ride out the storm. I'm more concerned for my BIL who lives in the path of direct impact from the storm, and is being stubborn and insisting to stay put/not evacuate, even though he could have easily driven the hour south yesterday to stay with us or with our MIL or SIL. He has a new house and is basically putting his pride/worry for his home above his safety and my MIL especially is worried and simultaneously pissed off about the stupidity of it all.
CS/Q:
GTKY: When trick-or-treating as a kid, was there any kind of candy that you didn't like to get? I think I posted this as an UO once but I'm really weird and don't like a lot of candies, particularly milk chocolate candy bars of any kind. I was a weird kid and would eat some things like gummy bears, sour patch kids, lollipops, or twizzlers and then my mom would usually just take my leftover trick or treat candy into school to hand out to her students because she knew I just wouldn't eat it. I enjoyed the dressing up/act of trick or treating way more than the candy.
@hartmich I'm so sorry about your grandfather. I'll have you and your family in my T&P and am wishing you the best possible outcome. ((creepy internet hugs and then some to you))
@zwink1 GL with your upcoming job search! Sometimes change can be the best thing for us and you've just gotta trust that things will fall into place, even if it's easier said than done.
@mrs35 yay for a new cycle! My longest ever was about 4 months long and it was the worst... FX this cycle is the one for you.
@purplg8r I'm so sorry that your husband had to fly out. I hope you are staying safe and have all of your supplies. Is there someone nearby that you can get in touch with in the event, God forbid, of a true emergency? I'll be thinking of you!
@swimsister I sleep like a rock during AF, assuming the cramping is not terrible on that day. I actually don't mind it, since my sleep habits are typically awful. It definitely makes cutting caffeine tougher though.
@tripledaggerWed95976 I likely won't have internet access tomorrow so I just wanted to say that I hope your appointment goes well and that everything is okay!
@adirat I hope you have a great vacation and that this week is short/productive for you. I know how it is...I used to hate that I would cover for so many people on their vacations but when I left they did the bare minimum and I always came back to a disaster, so I'd work double time before I left in order to be ahead of the game.
@Aurora1973 Sorry to hear that DH's SA didn't go great...FX that the results are better than your experience and that the next time is better. Enjoy your vacation!
@adirat if I put in a high temp for tomorrow, I get CHs on CD32! All my signs line up to support that. @Sugargirl1019 Whoo hoo for your friend! That has to be an awesome feeling! And I can commiserate on your OPK usage. I am set to have my longest cycle ever this month. I started testing at CD10 and didn't O til CD32! Ugh! @Aurora1973 That sounds like a nightmare! You would think they would have a better set up for something like that! How horrifying! I'm sorry! Hopefully the one at your RE goes MUCH better. Hugs! @ayoungvoice Creepy internet hugs. I'm sorry you had such a rough day! TTC can be such a mind F**K. Hopefully today is better for you! @pepper16 I think FF will eventually adjust as you get more cycles logged. I wouldn't go just by its estimated FW because, well, you're regular til you're not! Your CM/CP will (should) give you a better indication of when you will O. @beachbunnyxo123 You are too sweet! Thank you for checking up on me! Hopefully I will be joining you over in tww tomorrow! @kiki75 I dont really have any advice for you, but sending you so many creepy internet hugs!
@ayoungvoice I hope you find this board as comforting as I have, and so many other members have. There are so many experiences, from loss to IF to just get started to trying for months. There is just a comfort in knowing that you're not alone and you can vent here ANYtime and there is always someone to listen.
R/R: My coworker just sent me an e-mail giving me a heads up that she's going to announce her pregnancy so I can be prepared for all the people who might come ask me when it's my turn. I'm torn between just telling them that I've been trying unsuccessfully for almost a year and I'll be sure to let them know first thing when it works out, or just do my usual shrug and brush it off.

@ayoungvoice I agree, it is so lonely sometimes. It's tough when something is on our minds 24/7 but barely registers with our SOs. That's why I'm so grateful to have found this community - we are all in the same (sometimes crazy) boat, and I've already found so much support in my questions, rants, etc. I can only hope to return the favor!
@RatParade Ugh. I guess it's nice that she gave you the heads up, but that struggle of brushing it off versus brutal honesty gets me every time. On a side note, your siggy gif made me laugh so loud. I'm grateful I'm the only one in the office today!
@RatParade ugh, I find that kind of thing so annoying. She probably meant it playfully, but your feeling frustrated by it is totally understandable, I know I would be.
@RatParade Go home sick? No but seriously, I've started giving a response somewhere in the middle... like "If only it were that easy!" or something along those lines. I can't bring myself to totally brush it off.
@hartmich@georgiawife6912@shstephenson@runrestrepeat Thanks all for your kind words. It's so nice feeling connected to other people who know what you're going through! As a newbie - any tips for staying up to date on the boards? I want to participate not just vent, so other than the "Newbies read this first" post, let me know
@littlebug2010 Hugs to you - I started TTC in April, too, though we haven't had the same journey. I talk to my mum too. She was actually on Clomid for 4 years while TTC with me, her first, so she certainly knows about waiting. Of course I'm not worried at this point as it's only been 5 cycles, but still hard when you're excited
@RatParade Gah... worst. Sending positive vibes. I would say something direct and hopefully final, like "That's not something I'm comfortable talking about at the office," and then smile and change the subject. It's not so much to be mean, but to have them understand you're not interested. Hopefully they'll get the hint and stop asking.
@aurora1973 Sorry... but I giggled at your SA story. My husband is skeptical about getting his done even though my gyno already wrote the referral... I'm not going to tell him this story until afterward!
@ayoungvoice Hugs. Totally feel you. Lonely is the perfect word. For staying up to date on the boards, it really varies. You should participate as you feel comfortable and don't worry about taking a mental health day as needed. I know some ladies participate in WTO/TWW every day and others tend to participate there less often (sometimes depending on where in their cycle they are) but are active in the other threads (TW, UO, etc.). And you have to do what feels right for you. I like being in WTO and when I'm in TWW, I lurk WTO, but when I'm WTO I usually don't lurk TWW (it's too hard for me while I'm waiting to ovulate and the sting of a lack of BFP is still fresh). You'll get the hang of it
@magnolia131 Oh no! I hope you guys are OK and I can't believe your brother! (And yeah, I basically can't count on anyone to cover for me at work while I'm out...)
@RatParade That is really tough. I also struggle with how much to say to coworkers. I really like the suggestion from @hartmich of "If only it were that easy," which I think I might start using too. I haven't used this for coworkers yet, but for vague acquaintances who have asked when we are having kids, I have given them a very pointed look and said, "We ARE trying," which shut them up real fast.
I appreciate all you ladies for the emotional support. I also like having a place where I can say things like "OMG I finally have EWCM" because guys -- today I finally have EWCM!!
@RatParade That's tough. Lots of pg announcements from my coworkers too. When people ask me, I usually just say "Whenever God decides to give me one" and smile.....then people are usually like ...oh....
I also really appreciate this board. Like, I know it can take a year to concieve...but for some reason my 2 best friends and my SIL got KU the first month they tried. It seems so easy for everyone around me. It really makes you feel alone.

Thanks @shstephenson, @georgiawife6912, and @magnolia131. @adirat, I think it's pretty funny now that I've gotten some distance from it. They had just a terrible built in bench and a sink, and very uninspiring porn, LOL. We kept shifting positions, trying to get things going. He finally got the brilliant idea to throw the bench pad on the floor so that I had better, um, access. That worked great, except that some of the specimen escaped because of that position. The whole scene would seriously probably work in a raunchy comedy. It's funny because it's true

I also really appreciate this board. Like, I know it can take a year to concieve...but for some reason my 2 best friends and my SIL got KU the first month they tried. It seems so easy for everyone around me. It really makes you feel alone.

@mrs35 Wow, what an awful cycle! Glad to see you back over here (well, not glad, but you know what I mean)
@linzrunz sorry for CD1
@Aurora1973 I legit laughed out loud and got some weird looks from my colleagues. I shouldn't, but the mental image is too much!
@RatParade oh girl, I'm sorry, that sucks. I hate that people think these sorts of questions are acceptable in the workplace.
Month/Cycle: 7 TTCAL
CD: 22
WAYDTGKU: all the usual things
R/R: My boss just came back today from a two week vacation. This pretty much sums up my day
CS/Q: nope
GTKY: When trick-or-treating as a kid, was there any kind of candy that you didn't like to get? I'm with several of you ladies on those horrible, chalky black and orange wrapped nonsense. I also hate licorice so anything of that persuasion was out. My grandma always gave out full sized candy bars (to everyone? to just us? I don't know now that I think of it) so obviously I loved hitting her house.

R/R: Work is insane (why I haven't posted in 2 weeks) which is good and bad. I'm exhausted but it means this job is almost done and I will have my husband back! So far I'm at 52 hours and I'm not done for today or tomorrow yet. But there is a light at the tunnel. And I'm in my FW so at least I'm in the same town as DH even if we are completely exhausted.

Chocolate, I was always disappointed when the option was only chocolate. I'm more of a twizzlers, pay day, skittles type of person.
