@scifichick09@jennpearl007 mine flakes off too! So weird. Well, I guess I kind of have to scratch it off but it will pretty easily come off if I do that.
@CurlyCupcake21 Yeah, sometimes I have to kinda scratch it off too. I'm self diagnosing here, but I really do think it's just dried colostrum. I'm heading to my appointment in like 3 minutes and will be asking the doc about it, I'll let ya know what she says!
@scifichick09 - plz do lol. I have been having this for the last week and I just assumed it was oddly dry skin that I have had to peel off....so I have been making sure to lotion up my nips along with the breasts and belly.....so now I wonder if I shouldn't be using the extra lotion on them! lol
@ColeBug89, I have a big pillow similar to the Comfort U Pillow on amazon (link below) plus I use a wedge under my stomach. It's worked out nicely because I have the head support, wrap the legs of the pillow between my legs, and between the U pillow and the wedge, I kinda get to a point where I'm not 'on my stomach' but am at least a little more tilted towards my stomach than directly on my side, so it gives the additional support. By having the other long end of the pillow behind me, it prevents me from really rolling onto my back and also just means if I need to flip sides, I can flip within the pillow and not move the pillow too. Luckily we have a king size bed so I'm able to fit the whole world in there, and DH likes it because we can often snuggle on the same leg of the pillow together, or I can face the outer leg and he can snuggle with the back one behind me.
FTM here... assuming this is the right place for a question about when you start to feel the kicks? I'm almost halfway through week 19 and so far I haven't felt anything.
The only thing I've felt so far is pressure in my belly/lower abdomen, which my doctor says is normal. Everything I read online says that it usually feels like "flutters" (whatever that means -- I have no idea what that would feel like!).
I'm at 20 weeks and feeling movement pretty regularly now. To me, it feels like a muscle twitch, like if I run sprints or something and my thighs start moving on their own as I cool down. At first, I wasn't convinced it was the baby (thought it could be gas), but I notice it mostly when I'm sitting or laying and its way more obvious when I drink ice cold water. Also, the movement is all really low, like the bottom quarter of my stomach, way below my belly button.

It can all depend on where your placenta is located. I'm also 19 weeks and haven't felt anything yet. At my A/S they confirmed I have an anterior placenta, so I shouldn't expect to feel anything for another few weeks until she is strong enough to kick harder!
@MLRocha that's my experience too... For the past week or so, I am feeling what feels like muscle twitches pretty low down - closer to my pubic bone than my belly button. It's usually in the same general location, where I imagine the baby's arms or legs to be (it's where his arms were at my A/S). I thought it was gas at first, but it doesn't move around or change locations in the same pattern as gas bubbles. And yesterday, I had a partially full bladder, and all of a sudden there was a series of what felt like taps on it - I had to get up and go to the bathroom, since it was really uncomfortable!
I have an anterior placenta, so I am wondering if I always feel them around the same (low) location b/c the placenta is muffling movement higher up.
@CurlyCupcake21@BlondePeanut and anyone else who is having this problem! I just got back from my appointment and doc said it was just dried up leakage/colostrum. She said it was nothing to worry about and suggested I go out and buy some bra pads next time I'm at the store, just in case it turns into full on leakage later on.
@TeacherMom2517 thanks for the link! I'll have to check it out when I'm on my home computer and not mobile. The pillow sounds so comfy. Luckily, DH and I also have a king bed so there is plenty of room for all the pillows!
@diefrau Just wanted to say, I never felt flutters. First time I felt little guy, it was a solid thump. Then a few somersault-feelings.... mostly he thumps me a lot! I think he's a ninja practicing his kicks. It is not the same feeling for everyone!
@die frau (I can't tag you right, because of the space in your name, I think!) Like a few of the PPs, I also have an anterior placenta, so I didn't feel anything until right at 20 weeks, and it's common to be even later. The first one I noticed felt like a big popping bubble--not fluttery at all, in my mind. And once I recognized what it was, it started feeling a lot more like little thumps. I'm 21+3 now and feel the baby a few times a day, but not frequently/regularly. I personally notice it the most right after a meal, when my belly is full and I'm sitting still. Seems to me that when it's more jam-packed in there, I can feel the kicks more easily!

So speaking of muscle twitching, I have had a twitch in my upper left side (right under my boob/in my ribs) for about three weeks now. It is pretty much constant. I know this is not baby, but does anyone know how to get rid of this? It's driving me nuts.
@scifichick09 thanks for the update. Dr. Google told me is was probably dried colostrum but you know how wacky that SOB can be so it's good to hear that's what your doc said.
Got my first round of Braxton Hicks tonight. Ugh. Never had them with DD1, but they started around 20 weeks with DD2, and that's about where I am now with #3 so I guess this isn't totally surprising.
I'm definitely starting to feel my uterus and stomach stretch out today. Man is it an uncomfortable feeling. It's like someone's constantly pulling on my lower stomach. XP
Hi, Former vegan here who hasn't drank milk in 15 yrs and has now, 3 nights in a row, needed two big glasses of milk at night because the craving is insane.
@Babymakes5! I am also semi lactose intolerant, but pregnancy has apparently cured this and I'm craving/drinking a glass every morning.
In conjunction with @fourPsinapod's comment in randoms, I'd give anything for the lactose intolerance to return right now and clear out my plugged up self!
@BeckS13 My stomach is feeling the same way. I was noticing every time I woke up last night (on my side, which I hate anyway), I could feel a pull on my stomach. I think I need to start sleeping with a pillow under it.
I have also been having more RLP, especially when I walk. It used to be that after about 20-30 minutes of walking, I got what felt like running cramps up and down both sides of the front of my uterus (which would go away the moment I stopped moving), but now it seems to happen after walking for just a few minutes. It's really annoying - it's not comfortable at all. Chalking it up to a rapidly growing uterus, and using the exercise bike more often instead of walking.
@Babymakes5! Im lactose intolerant and can't imagine ever craving milk. But I have been craving all the cheese. So weird.
My lactose intolerance goes away during pregnancy. You should try some!
oh. I have. All the cheese. All the time. But i hate the taste and smell of milk. I've also been gagging down yogurt 1 or more x/wk to get some good calcium in.
Ladies, I drink 2% milk. Should I be switching to whole milk for pregnancy? Also, I can't drink milk by itself. I don't like the taste of it. I have to have cookies or something else with it.
I drink 1% milk. Just a heads up - my midwife told me that if you drink whole or 2% (milk OR yogurt), it's more important for it to be organic vs. nonfat dairy. Apparently most toxins/whatever is in non-organic dairy that's bad for you bind to fats, so whole dairy should be organic. I buy organic 1% by the gallon, and to be honest, I feel like it tastes better than conventional milk. And I also cannot just drink a glass of milk alone - it needs chocolate to go with it
I read somewhere to switch to whole, so I did, but I can't remember the source so don't take that as real science gospel or anything. I do buy organic anyway, so all good there. Fun fact about organic if you don't use that much milk-it lasts a lot longer! It's apparently pasteurized for longer and in my experience will stay fresh for weeks, though I'm being a little more cautious while I'm pregnant.
@madamerwin yes, milk is something I do spend more $$ for to get organic. There's just way too many hormones and antibiotics that they inject into it, otherwise.
What is it about milk?! Vegetarian here, who almost never drank milk...until my first trimester, when cereal was one of the few things I could reliably stomach. I am now obsessed with cooking my steel cut oats in 2% milk. I used to just use water and thought it was fine, but now I think it tastes like garbage unless it's all creamed up with milk fat (sorry if that sounded gross).

We go through organic whole milk over here like it's going out of style. Between my son & husband it's a weekly purchase if we don't stock up at Costco.
