  • @CallMeMrsChaos do I know you in real life?? Have I complained to you before? That is my exact life. DS is 2.5 and I can count on one hand the number of times he's slept through the night. He also wakes up screaming and has night terrors sometimes. So last night was much needed!

    Me: 33 DH: 33

    Married: 6.9.12
    DS born: 4.9.14
    DD born 7.27.17

  • @callmemrschaos hopefully your doc can get you in to figgure out the spotting. DS was a terrible sleeper and we were zombies. "The no cry sleep solution" changed our lives. I would highly recommend it to your freind. It saved DH's sanity.

  • @BrambleRose Thank you for that story because it's been a rough few days, and picturing a little girl dressed as a battery rolling helplessly down a hill is making me laugh. Maybe I'm a bad person, but I can't help it!

  • @vflux33  I had someone refuse me candy when I was that age, too! I never thought about it, but it might have been the same reason. Is there some unwritten rule that once you get boobs you're too old to trick-or-treat?

    R/R: Sooo tired today!! I'm off site again at a major university and playing the waiting game with one of my patients. I so badly want to sleep in the car. Also, seeing all these DVM students walking around makes me think I still might go to vet school one day so I guess that dream isn't dead!

    CS/Q: Nada. Didn't wake up to temp today bc who effing cares on CD 2! And it was glorious :)

    GTKY: What was your most memorable Halloween costume?
    I painted my face a lot as a kid and mastered tiger face-painting. It was my go-to many years running. I also make a super troopers costume based on the character Rabbit for my brother which was pretty accurate. He was joking with friends yelling at them to "get out of the car" and passers-by thought he was a real cop!

  • @britters314 I guess so-- WTF! Because being the 1st person in your friend group to get AF isn't already awkward enough... Glad to hear I'm not the only person that ever happened to.

    @hartmich I'm glad it could make you laugh! I know I'm probably building it up in memory but it was a pretty steep hill, too, we're not talking about a twist or two and it's over. @GeorgiaWife6912's gif is actually a pretty good approximation of the whole thing!

  • @CallMeMrsChaosI am interested to know what your doctor says about the spotting. I asked my doctor about it at my annual appointment last week and she told me it was normal? The past 2-3 cycles I started spotting 3-4 days before AF actually shows. She told me to count it as my period since it is heavy enough to need a panty liner but not a tampon. Not sure if I really agree with that statement....

    CS/Q: not today!

    GTKY: What was your most memorable Halloween costume? Probably Raggedy Anne. My brother was Raggedy Andy and it was awful. Red Afro and all..
  • @shstephenson I will keep you posted. I still have not heard back from the nurse. I am sure it is normal for some people but I have never experienced it before so thought I would check it out. (your normal until your not... i know) but apparently they seemed concerned enough to have me check back each month.

  • @shstephenson and @CallMeMrsChaos I get 2 days of brown spotting before AF most cycles, and my doctor told me that this is a symptom of my low progesterone (I had bloodwork done because my luteal phase is so short). My sense from reading on TB is that spotting is normal for some people and abnormal for others, so it may be nothing or it may be worth asking for a progesterone check. My doctor suggested counting brown spotting as spotting but bright red spotting as AF, which is not the same advice others have gotten, so I think you should count your AF days vs. spotting however you feel most comfortable. I hope you can get to the bottom of the spotting, or it goes away (even better!).

  • @adirat I remember you saying that about low progesterone so I asked my doctor about that specifically. I guess since my LPs have been 13-14 days she wasn't worried about that?

  • @shstephenson I'm not sure but my guess is if you have sufficient LP you wouldn't have low progesterone (since if you have low progesterone you wouldn't last that long). I only know about spotting associated with low progesterone since it's my situation... Sorry I can't be more helpful.

  • Month/Cycle: 11 / 5 (But since I have been to my new doctor now, DH and I agreed to start over with 1 / 1 when I get AF next now that we will be working with this doctor)

    CD: 28

    WAYDTGKU: Taking prenatals and waiting to see if AF shows in the next couple days. If not, then I will be taking Provera for 7 days and using OPKs with the 2nd urine of the day starting CD10 (assuming Provera makes me get AF) and then BD every other day once I get a positive OPK - doctor's orders. DH said his favorite part of it all is the BD... men lol

    R/R: Rant: none  Rave. The wait for my doctor's appointment is over because I had my appointment yesterday. Thank you to everyone who patiently listened as I was repetitive the past couple weeks about me waiting for my appointment. She had tests done for Testosterone / Dehydroepiandrosterone, Sulfate / and TSH Relflex. They all came back today as normal.
         My Testosterone is 49 ng/dL and the normal / standard range is 6ng/DL - 82ng/dL
         My Dehydroepiandrosterone, Sulfate ois 264ug/dL and the normal / standard range is 99ug/dL - 340ug/dL
         My TSH Relfex is 1.750 ulU/mL and the normal / standard range is 0.450 ulU/mL - 4.500 ulU/mL

    She said that 1 test would take 1 week before we had a result but I only remember her saying these 3 tests. I called the doctor's office to see what the other test would be and I am waiting on a call back but so far it seems like good news on the tests.

    CS/Q: None

  • @bumpybump It is certainly a unique tradition! We're in the Chicago suburbs now.
  • @tripledaggerWed95976 wow! Your face paint is amazing!!

    @adirat @wabash15 that's what I was thinking!  Hoping to see CH soon!

    @bumpybump @shstephenson @zwink1 @Thanks!! School has been cancelled for today and tomorrow so now we lose our off day at the end of the month & April.

    @zwink1 what lending library?

    @britters314 I might see how I feel when he gets home at 2am. I know the earlier spike was after going to Halloween Horror nights & drinking a lot

    @LuND thanks!  But hubby's actually flying out of town so I have to brave the hurricane by myself (and totally freaked out about it)

    @swimsister true!  I think I'll see how I feel

    @GeorgiaWife6912 thanks!  I'm in orlando.

    @CallMeMrsChaos I was worried too but it was so so easy. Both my parents got it done the weekend before me. And I've convinced two friends to do it too. It's so worth it
  • Month/Cycle: 7/11

    CD: 21

    WAYDTGKU: Thyroid medicine... not much else.

    R/R: I was irritable today. I hate that I get irritable, or insatiable, or break out and it results in nothing. No ovulation, no AF. Then I feel like I'm a liar.

    CS/Q: Nothing today.

    GTKY: I never got to be what I wanted to be. I always wanted to be an Angel. With a white gown, and pretty make up and shiny hair, and most importantly the big glorious, wings. But year after year I went as a witch. Because all that required was dressing in black and wearing a pointy hat that we already had. Now that I'm older I weigh too much to wear anything I'd really want to do.

    One year when I was very little I had a batwoman costume. But my mom made me wear my coat over it, and then when I showed people they thought I was cat woman and it made me so angry.

    As someone who loves costumes and wanted to be a musical theater actress, Halloween was a big deal. And it never went the way I wanted!

Sorry I'm not contributing as much as others...I do want to be part of the community! I posted yesterday...some might remember me from a few months back. Had a really hard night last night. DH came up to find me sobbing in bed...I just want to be KU so bad. I also tend to watch YouTube videos that I shouldn't...that trigger me to feel really down about TTC. I should probably stop that.

  • Thank you for all of the well wishes.  I'm not feeling great, but I could be much, much worse, so I'll take it!

    @Purplg8r- Amazon has finally provided something other than their "unlimited" program (which was separate from Prime).  They just came out with "prime reading," which is basically like the Amazon version of a library.  I haven't had a ton of time to check it out yet, but so far it looks pretty good and it seems to have a good selection of books and magazines.
  • @vintageandrea90 I'm so sorry you had such a hard TTC day.  When you want something so bad it's hard not to want to immerse yourself in it. Creepy Internet hugs and try to be good to yourself

  • @callmemrschaos I'm only getting it because it's so cheap in Korea. $1700 for both eyes. The base price is actually around $1000 but I have astigmatism and other things that require extra steps. I did check though and there is no record of someone going blind because of LASIK. From when I get there to when I leave is 1 1/2 to 2 hours including a quick exam before, the procedure, rest a bit, and an exam after. I think I also have to go back tomorrow but I'll update when I can about how it went.
