QOTW: Favorite names: What is your favorite first name?
Re: TTTC Checkin 10/05/2016
GoldenKeys can you change my DX to unexplained IF? thanks!
i'm sure most have seen my latest post but just to put it in the check in thread
RE is suggesting IVF bc of my age
However, i think DH & I have decided to do IUIs w/ injectibles bc my insurance will cover the IUIs (i just have to cover the meds)
i also think we're going to decline to move to IVF at any point- so if the IUIs fail i 'm going to have to call it done - financially IVF is just not an option for us
my RE is also retesting my TSH, she advised she likes it to be 2.5 or less, and I was at 3.23 - she said it was still within the normal range, but she would like to see that number lower- so if it comes back around the same number she will put me on thyroid meds
Editing to add QOTW: Liam is my favorite boy's first name - Gwyneth is my favorite girl's first name

@HarleyQuinn0621 I'm sorry your facing this but think your decision is a good one. My experience is that a lot of docs do rush to IVF & I just have a feeling that if I had gone that route it would not have been successful given what I've learned with my new RE. Have you looked into whether your RE or other docs in your community test for MTHFR? It seems to affect women who are older (I'm 37) and I'm guessing it's b/c we've had time to be exposed to stress/toxins and other factors that turn these genes on.

TW:
We did have a CP with IUI#2 but no mature follies with the next cycle of Let or cycle of 100 clomid (we hadn't tried clomid since the early days of ttc)
We are suppose to see the Dr on the 10th (maybe cd 2) and see if she will be willing to give injectables a try.
We also set an appointment for a IVF consult on the 14th. Hopeful that between those 2 appointments we will be able to get some plan in place for the next steps.
And we are doing the usual evaluation of finances etc as none of our fertility care is covered by insurance.
FX for you all too!

@BecauseLove - Hopefully the wait for your doctor to come back won't be too bad. I know waiting can suck!
As for me the wait for my doctor's appointment is over because I had my appointment yesterday.
Anyway, it went okay. She looked at the results my last doctor gave & decided to retest only some of them because with some, the likely hood of them changing was HIGHLY unlikely.
She had tests done for Testosterone / Dehydroepiandrosterone, Sulfate / and TSH Relflex. They all came back today as normal.
My Testosterone is 49 ng/dL and the normal / standard range is 6ng/DL - 82ng/dL
My Dehydroepiandrosterone, Sulfate ois 264ug/dL and the normal / standard range is 99ug/dL - 340ug/dL
My TSH Relfex is 1.750 ulU/mL and the normal / standard range is 0.450 ulU/mL - 4.500 ulU/mL
She said that 1 test would take 1 week before we had a result but I only remember her saying these 3 tests. I called the doctor's office to see what the other test would be and I am waiting on a call back but so far it seems like good news on the tests.
As far as the next step goes, she put in a prescription for Provera. She said if I don't get AF in the next couple days, to take Provera to force AF and then on CD 10 (assuming I get AF) to start using OPKs every day. Also, if I take the Provera and do NOT get AF by CD 40, I am supposed to call her back.

My second Beta came back at 59 which was a little more than double my first (25) so they're happy with that! She of course had to say it's still a little low but we started early, today's only 15dpo, maybe 14. I have an ultrasound scheduled for next Thursday to look for the sac, and then one the following week to look for the heartbeat. I'm feeling a little relieved but not really because I got this far last time...want to get to that ultrasound!!!!!
Thanks again, y'all! Xoxo

Found out that our lease expires next month on the 7th. I thought it expired next month, and we'd have to be out by dec 1st. (is it really that close to December??) So I've been packing to alleviate stress, and I packed up the kitchen. Which means I can't cook anything, which means fast food the rest of the month.... woops? I can do keto with fast food I just have to buckle down and do it. But I'm stress eating. I need to stop it. I feel like if having a baby is going to rely on my weight loss it's NEVER going to happen. I'm going to have to talk to my RE and let her know that relying on me losing weight is not an option.
I feel like the thyroid medicine might be helping, but I also feel like I'm just imagining it, because it's too early for that and also I'm not 100%. I don't know, I just don't know anything!!
Can you tell, I've got this all under control! XD
QOTW: Favorite names: What is your favorite first name?
Hm. I don't think I can pick a favorite first name. I like the name Lucas. And a name I thought I made up when I was a little girl, but apparently it's not an original, Lynnora.

As for me, While we're taking a break from active treatment, I'm still temping/OPKs. Day 22 and finally starting to look like FW. The downside(?) is we're on our way to Mexico for a wedding. I guess we just wear all the bug spray? The universe would t be that sadistic, right?

@BecauseLove I'm sorry that your docs have been dithering on the injectables. Glad your RE is finally coming back so you can maybe move forward. Keep us updated on how those appointments go next week.
@saphiresweetie88 YAY! I'm so happy you finally got your appointment--and great news that your tests seem within range. FX the provera brings AF! I'm with you: as soon as we started working with the RE I got more positive about everything. It's nice to be able to fall back on medical science. Definitely took some pressure off us.
@BWhitta Congratulations on your beta! I can't wait to hear about your ultrasound!
@mythril Oh no! So much stress, I'm so sorry you're going through that. On the plus side, you'll be moved and settled before Thanksgiving? I hope that your RE is willing to work with you, weightloss or no weightloss. I really admire your efforts to stay on diet even in the midst of total upheaval.
@ReesaAnne16 I hope the rest of your TWW goes by fast, with good news at the end! I'm sorry about your neighbors. It turns out our new ones across the hall were expecting, but I never saw the wife (she came home later than me and apparently we're all terrible people who don't introduce ourselves to each other) so I didn't know until the baby was born. Probably saved my sanity. Anyway, I really hope you get your BFP soon and you won't have to deal with the depression.
@smokinangel Glad FW is coming up! Enjoy the wedding.
AFM CD9 here. I had my monitoring u/s this morning--one follie on each side at 19, another at 12. RE thinks I'll O this weekend--which I'm 99% certain is wrong; I've always ovulated late, although I know medication can affect that--but we'll be out of town. So I'll either trigger on Sunday for IUI#3 on Tuesday, or we'll do TI this round.
@Mythril Sorry you are finding yourself so stressed. Moving stinks and is probably one of my least favorite things of all time
@SaphireSweetie88 Yay for finally getting to your appointment. The waiting is the worst. I'm glad your tests so far have been ok. Fx you get some positive results.
@ReesaAnne16 I completely understand your feelings towards the new neighbors. I am in a bit of avoidance mode. My husband's cousin is having her baby sower in a couple of weeks, and I'm not going just because I don't think I could stand it. I had skipped another shower for someone I used to work with for similar reasons. It's just too hard.
I am on CD9 of my first round of Letrozole. I have to say, side effects wise, I am definitely liking the Letrozole better than Clomid. No moodiness, no feeling edgey......but it did make me feel SUPER tired. But I will still take that over how I felt on the Clomid any day. Starting OPK's and BD and keeping Fx that the Letrozole helps us see some results.
QOTW: The one name I love the most is Patience Elizabeth...but I would never use it (I couldn't stand it if she got the nickname Pat...no offense to any Pats out there). Both DH and I really like Abigail. As for boy names....that I find more difficult. The name I really seem to like is Jack, but he already has a nephew with that name. I also like Jude, but DH vetoed that one.

Congrats @wifeinraleigh28 @Bwhitta and @worldravler0522 on the BFPs!!
@hoffmanr7 – I hear ya on the TIRED feeling from letrozole! I’m taking it now and I am just beat by the afternoon (and I'm going to bed early every night!). I also have this vague headache I can’t shake. Fingers crossed I get a positive OPK next week. I have not had any luck with them in the past.
I have my HSG booked for Tuesday so I’m waiting on that. Hopefully it “clears out the cobwebs” and we get our BFP this time!
I was reading that some people are advised to not have sex before the HSG (or if you do to use a condom) but my doc never said anything about that! Those of you that have had one, what advice did you get? Also – I will be on CD#11 which means it’s my FW. Is it safe to get busy immediately after?
I should have asked my doctor these questions at our appointment but I hadn't thought of these things until now...
I also had a sad moment this week when my DH mentioned that we might have had a two year old child by now if we had been successful when we first started trying. That really hit home about this long road.QOTW: My favorite boy name is William - I'm still undecided on a girls name!

Thanks! I heard from my doctor's office today and there is a 4th test that we're waiting on the results from and that test is 170H Progesterone and that will be another couple of days before we get that result.
Also, it's like my body knew I was going to take Provera because today AF showed up all on her own. Yay and boo (CD1). I know the doctor wanted me to use OPKs starting CD10 so that will be fun.

@harleyquinn0621 It sounds like you guys have a good plan in place. We're rooting for you!
@SaphireSweetie88 YAY for your appt!! It finally got here! And good news, too! I'm so happy for your good results and new plan!
So many congratulations, @BWhitta! Be safe in this storm!
@Mythril Moving is so stressful! FX for you doing all of this!
@seethosestars My doctor/nurse didn't actually tell me that, but they did ask before I went back for the test, so I'm assuming that you shouldn't have unprotected sex before. The radiology tech told me immediately following that there was no reason to abstain, but there was also nothing abnormal on my HSG, either. Definitely ask before you leave, just in case.
I'm in the TWW with BFNs all around. I normally don't test early, and this cycle has reminded me why.
I have an appt with my doctor on Monday to go over the results from my HSG and H's SA and to discuss next steps.
QOTW: Specifically baby names, we really like Benjamin and Thea. We have lots of runners up, too, though!

harleyquinn0621 I think IUI's are a great next step, whether or not you do IVF. I don't think IVF would have been an option for us either if we didn't have insurance coverage. I hope someday that will change so that everyone can be covered for infertility, it's not fair having the financial stress on top of everything else! Best of luck to you as you move forward.
lablover78 Hope your follies continue to grow well and best of luck this cycle! Glad to hear your RE has a lot of experience treating MTHFR and has a good plan for you. That's great that you are feeling better on the prozac as well!
@BecauseLove Sorry to hear you've had to wait so long for next steps, but glad the wait is almost over and you will be able to meet with your RE again soon. I hope all goes well and best of luck moving forward!
SaphireSweetie88 Glad to hear your appointment went well and that the tests came back normal! Good luck!
BWhitta Congratulations, and good luck with your upcoming ultrasounds!!! Sorry to hear you are in one of the evacuation zones. I can't imagine how scary that must be to go through. Hope your husband will be back asap and that you all stay safe!
Mythril So sorry to hear things have been stressful lately, I hope the move goes well!
@ReesaAnne16 Sorry to hear about the new neighbors, I would have difficulty with that too. I'm hopeful you will soon get good news so that you don't have to worry about avoiding them
@smokinangel Hope you are able to have a nice, relaxing break and enjoy your trip to Mexico!
@Bababatty Good luck and I hope O lines up well for you!
hoffmanr7 I also preferred letrozole to clomid as far as side effects go. FX that the letrozole gives you better results!
@seethosestars I can't remember if we had sex before our HSG, but we did soon after since it was around our FW as well. It looks like you and I started trying around the same time, and I've had those kind of thoughts too...I try my best not to linger on them too long, they can really bring you down sometimes. Good luck with your HSG on Tuesday and hoping we won't have to wait too much longer for our BFPs!
pretzel2plus1 Sorry to hear about the BFNs, I try not to test early either because they are just so sad to look at. FX that you will end up with a positive, and good luck Monday!
I hope everyone has a good weekend!

@ReesaAnne16 we have the same situation with our new neighbors. I was really looking forward to getting to know them, but I just saw the wife last week and she's definitely showing. Boo.
Also, just test every day. I've had lots of cycles with "I never get this" symptoms, testing made me feel less crazy...then I could just write it off as an odd cycle. Until the next day.....haha.
CD10 here. We are back to trying the natural way this month due to a vacation in the middle of FW. I am supposed to try progesterone suppositories post O, but got zero instructions on when exactly to start/stop them.
Next month its back to IUI, but I have no idea how that will work with my new job....eep.

Y'all...we should have evacuated. We're fine but I didn't even think about how stressed I was going to be! Then last night our HUGE oak tree fell towards our house...we were actually leaving to go to my parents bc we lost power and I was starting to panic bc it was dark and I just couldn't listen to the wind anymore. I was sitting in the car when it fell and my sweet husband had stopped bc he heard it so he watched it fall towards us and onto the car. I could just see his face and it was so horrible. It was a small branch that landed on the car, I am totally fine, the car isn't even dented, but when I got out and saw the tree down and it was dark so we thought it had landed on the house (it hadn't) I compleeeeetely lost my shit. Like, I've never heard my voice sound like it did. I just lost it, it was horrible. My dad came and got us so we are camping out at their house until we can figure this mess out. It's all in the power lines so we can't do anything until the city takes care of that. The house seems to be okay, maybe some minor roof damage! We are very very very lucky!
Please please PLEASE say a prayer for my little bean...I was so scared that my breakdown was hurting it!!!!!!!! First ultrasound is Thursday!
