Went in for our dating ultrasound today. I'm 8w 5d according to LMP and baby measured 8w 5d but they couldn't find a heartbeat. Had a discussion with the NP who said we should do what is best for us but probably want to think about a D&E since I'm 8 weeks along, she said there would probably be a lot of bleeding if we try to wait it out and happen naturally. I opted to have hcg levels checked today and check again in a few days to see where we're at. I'm hoping to start bleeding on my own but we'll see what happens. I knew this was a possibility but H said he felt pretty blindsided. I just think it's so weird that baby measured that big so heart must have stopped beating VERY recently. This was our first pregnancy so we're pretty sad.

We were also told that we had miscarried because my HCG levels were not doubling, and there was no heartbeat detected at 8(ish) weeks. They suggested a D&C but I opted to wait.... results are a beautiful three year old boy! I'd give it time if I were you. Let it happen naturally or wait until the scans show a definite miscarriage. Hugs.
