@books&icecream sorry your mom isn't feeling great. do they have dog walkers in germany? that may be a better option considering at some point your parents will be leaving and you could benefit from this long term.

Sorry for the late response here, but yes, I live in a small town but right outside a city so I *could* find a dog walker, though it would be a major hassle. My MBF isn't actually the dog walking itself, but rather that my mother forced herself on me with the insistence that I needed her help and she was visiting to support me. Then I ask her to do ONE thing and whoops, turns out she can't do it (which she apparently knew ahead of time was likely, this isn't a new injury).
My DH will get the dog empty (or maybe I can by then) and I think my dad will be able to give him a longer walk during the day, I'm just so annoyed at and flabbergasted by my mother.
I just hope my c-section heals super fast so I'm not dependent on anyone!

Also, I am so sorry for everyone else dealing with impossible people this late in the game (too many to tag). What is it about knowing someone super pregnant/freshly PP that brings out all the stupid?!

  • We didn't get his results back yesterday like they said we would, and we STILL haven't seen the doctor today =/ Damn. It. Man.
  • @LMNOBaby I LOVE the yellow starburst. They are my favorite. I like lemon flavored everything. I hate the orange ones though. But I'm in the camp that everyone needs a friend like me because I'd gladly trade you my pink ones for your yellow ones!
  • Y'all I have a whole box full of Favoreds from my shower that people didn't appreciate and I can't eat because of the GD. Wish I could send some to all of you!

  • I'll take all those unwanted orange Starbursts.  I'll make sure they have a good home...in my belly.
  • I'll take any and all starbursts right now. Might have to buy some at the store after work!

@ibabyloveb87 - DH works for HT's corporate. None of that is acceptable. Feel free to let me know which store in a PM and I'll tell him so he can pass it along to the person who handles in store stuff. OR, write a complaint to corporate (using the website) and they'll likely send you a gift card to make up for it. :)

ETA- I'd personally write in if I were you, because... Ya know, free groceries
  • yay @allythekid and @laurapcos i can't even complain more than the one mbf bc he's been an amazing help after my c section otherwise. he even changes gauze

I love some connections. And totally joked with DH about writing a letter earlier. Maybe I actually will....

  • I didn't want to add to mine from yesterday but my brain won't shut up about it. My in-laws, man. I swear they're going to put me into labor.

On top of yesterday's drama, DH's sister texts him today to see if he can pick up her kids tomorrow, her son from preschool at 11:15 and her daughter from elementary school at 3:15. Sister will be working until 7:45. Sister's ex and kids' dad will be picking them up at 7:30. She had no plan on what to do with these kids between school and dad. Keep in mind this work day was scheduled, as was this day with her kids. She knew this was coming.

Tomorrow is my birthday, and I also had a death in my extended family and we are spending the evening at the funeral home. DH needs to spend the day working (he subcontracts for his dad, so he works when he can) because he was sick on Monday and couldn't work then (our anniversary was today so I took a half day and we spent the day together).

DH was willing to try and be a shuttle for the kids, but she couldn't get us a straight answer as to where they were going so he finally just said "I'm sorry, I can't" and she turned into a giant bitch about it. Problem is, we know her. She'd be one to not make a plan and just stick us with her kids all day while she's at work, regardless of what we had planned for our day.

Not to mention, what would DH have done with his niece and nephew if I had gone into labor? We have my mom on stand by for DD, I would be pissed if I had to put her in charge of these extra kids too.

I'm so done with my inlaws this week. The way I'm feeling, they'll be lucky if they get a text when LO is born (except for FIL, he's amazing and I adore him).

  • @bnsmith85 @ibabyloveb87 I love contacting companies to let them know of jobs well done.  People have no problems informing companies of issues/complaints, but when something good happens they might tell friends and family (which is still good advertising), but the company never knows the details, so I make an effort to call customer services to tell them of good jobs being done.

  • couldn't agree more @LauraPCOS! I mostly love being able to call out specific employees for a job well done. Imagine how much their day is made when they find out that someone said nice things about them :)

I'm all about this too! I've worked in customer service/management for most of my life and it's always a great thing when you get to tell an employee that they made postive difference in someone's life, no matter how small. I try to always make note of people's names & somehow notify their management if I feel they've gone out of their way to be helpful.
