I'm 400% stoked because we are done with drywall. We've been tearing things up and moving walls since Jan 2012, and there is no drywall left to be done. And those years of accumulated dust? Not my problem any more, we're hiring a deep-clean service for that.
I'm stoked b/c FIL got DH a file cabinet for his mail and documents so my kitchen table is a kitchen table again! Yaaaay! And DH went through his clothes and has most of the spare room tidy so we can finish empyting out the nursery probably this weekend and then can clean paint and decorate! I also have been on a household nesting kick, going through my own clothes and random things and the whole house to re-org, freshen up, and purge stuff. It makes me feel great. I just can't wait to decorate baby girl's nursery I also got a bunch of Spring/Summer outfits for her on clearance that only cost $1 each for a top and bottom set! Apparently I have many glitter farts lol....and this was a great idea to help me forget my Tues twatwaffle complaint and focus on the positive
@jstringfellow19 - Dollar General and Kohls Mil and I went to town....we got the extra deal at Kohls b/c MIL had a 30% off coupon also. Dollar General was doing a spring/summer clear out sale where those items were 70% off...and then an additional 50% off the mark down price. I was in my glory
Thanks @BlondePeanut I have to do some winter clothes shopping for my DS this weekend and wanted to pick up a few items for baby girl if I could find good deals.
Were 22 days away from our disneyworld trip! When we flew home yesterday we had our magic bands waiting for us. I feel like it will be torture just looking at them each day waiting for our trip.
Took the morning off because of the organ screening for LO and treated myself to a long leisurely lunch - and STILL killed it in a meeting with my supervisor even though my preparation for the meeting was pretty much zero.
Discovered last night that the jets in our master bath tub actually work- only 3 years after moving into the house. Randomly flipped a switch in a closet and they started to work. Who would think of putting the switch to the tub in a closet! Regardless, there are plans for a bath tonight.
Super excited about the photography nonprofit I'll be joining! One of my good friends that I've worked with on various projects is taking on the role of President and has asked me to step into the role of VP. We've got so many great ideas to get this nonprofit back up and running more efficiently! Since I'm a mostly a SAHM(as well as freelance photographer), this will be a great way to socialize more.
I have a decent role in what I thought would be my last NYC musical for a while, and I was super looking forward to hibernating once it's over in November. And then two other offers popped up for gigs at high-profile venues. I have some time to think about one of them, but I probably need to say no!

@vastra considering how time consuming & exhausting a rehearsal schedule & show schedule can be, I'd probably stick with your gut & rest. I haven't been in any NYC shows, but I've done a few main stage dramas in San Diego and know how draining it can be jumping straight from one show into another. I couldn't imagine it while pregnant!
I am extremely happy now that the nursery and house are finally coming together! Everything looks much more open and less cluttered, which is a huge plus in my book.
Also, my SIL gave me her changing pad and two covers, so I set that up on the dresser and made a little changing station yesterday, and for some reason every little extra bit of preparedness makes me happy!
I finally feel like we're ready enough not to buy anything else pre-showers.
My 2-year-old got his first real haircut (that is, not a half-ass trim from mom and dad) today. He still has baby fine hair and I love the way it hangs over his forehead, so I was worried it would look too short. But he still has those fine little bangs and is just cleaned up so he looks totally dapper and adorable. The stylist side parted it and used product (I never even comb his hair-- I'm THAT mom) and he looks like a clean-cut little gentleman. In a dirty, ketchup-stained sweatshirt. (Because, again, I'm THAT mom.)
He also told me he loved me yesterday, and for the first time it was totally unbidden (not a "love you too" or part of a "bye mom, love you!"). I went it to wake him up and he sidled over and put his head on my shoulder, then threw his sweet little arms around me and said "I love you, mommy." Pregnant mommy may have cried a little. Just when motherhood is feeling a bit tedious, something unbearably sweet happens to remind me why I mostly love being a mom.
My Glitter Fart for the day- DH totally redeemed himself from twatwaffle status by installing all our brand new smoke and carbon monoxide detectors after work today. He also fixed the hinge on my antique cedar chest....Apparently he really responds to the "honey do" list rather than verbal cues on such tasks. Noted
I wore these maternity leggings I ordered online from Walmart for the first time today and they are my new FAV. Soft and warm and stretchy and like my legs were getting snuggled all day. I was so happy at work! I'll post them in the clothes thread soon because they're like $9 and you all need them.

I went to something called operation shower today- is like a shower hosted for wives whose husbands are in the military. And it was pretty awesome. We got a travel system and some other awesome gifts. So I'm pretty excited about that.
I don't know if y'all remember me complaining about my ridiculous commute to work everyday (~3.5 hours/day), and that I was looking for another job? Well, this job finally realized that they didn't want to lose me and they allowed me to put in for an internal transfer early (I have barely been here 5 months), and not only am I transferring to the office closer to my home (about a 20 minute drive), but it's a position I'm better suited for AND they're increasing my pay!! October 17 can't come fast enough.
@imalwaysme79 that's awesome! Did you have to ask for it or did they just offer it? I wish more employers were this accommodating.
I told them if they couldn't figure something out, I would have to look elsewhere. I couldn't apply for anything because I haven't been here 6 months yet, but my manager spoke to her boss and he made it happen.
@raptormomma We just got back from our trip this past weekend. Talk about exhausting! I am glad we went, but it took a toll on this pregnant momma. I came home sick and even though I'm feeling better I think it is catching up to me! I hope it is a little cooler for y'all than it was for us. Have fun!!

That's what I'm thinking! I only need to be so crazy. (PS- I grew up in San Diego! Where did you perform? Old Globe? North Coast Rep?)
