Me this morning: "I'm going to go get dressed." *comes downstairs in yoga pants and last night's pajama shirt* Welcome to postpartum. This is as fancy as I get for the next six weeks.
Bahahaha @ignoscemihi... That's me... at 38 weeks pregnant. I'm a little worried for my appearance PP. But prob not worried enough to do anything about it lol
@ignosceihi Oh, I was such a mess PP. Yoga pants, leggings, the same shirt for days (unless I leaked really badly all over it). I just didn't have the motivation to wear clothes.
@f47 Yep. That's what I was like with my first. The second may be worse since I've got a toddler to run after, too.
Oh, and I just saw this - for all you Gilmore Girls fans out there - certain coffee shops around the country are going to become "Luke's" on October 5th. Might be worth taking a look: https://townofstarshollow.org/lukes/
I think business should offer discounts to women in their last few weeks of pregnancy... especially when they're a regular customer and the reason they're using your business this time is to prepare for labor. My examples include, but are not limited to: dog grooming, house cleaning, hair care services, pedicures, etc....
I realize that none of those are necessities, but these are the things I want, but also don't want to spend the money on lol... I mean, I have better things to spend my 50 bucks on than getting my dog groomed... but she needs it! She looks a hot mess and it's only going to get worse lol. Now that I'm going on this rant... I feel like it probably belongs in MBF. But we all know if I copy/paste into there, this text won't go away as a draft and I'll have to deal with that... which I don't want to sooooo.... lol
I successfully EBF both babies yesterday, gave all three children a bath that didn't result in drowning, and I'm back in all my postpartum clothes (thanks, breastfeeding/pumping).
@nlane0723 - wow, you go super mama! btw how do you like those baby baths? I got the same one for this baby. Hoping to like it better than the one I had with DS.
I have to shower and wash my hair everyday, or it looks nasty. And I also do a full face of makeup everyday, because it's what I'm used to. But I can only wear my two stretchy maxi skirts right now, so I basically wear the same thing everyday...black maxi skirt and shirt or striped maxi skirt and shirt. I wish I could at least wear my maternity jeans, but the seam hits right on my c-section line and it still hurts.
Speaking of...I went out this weekend with my family to celebrate my birthday coming up and all I wanted was a new black maxi skirt since mine has seen better days. Couldn't find one anywhere!! Anyone have a suggestion for where I could find a cheap-ish plain black stretchy maxi skirt? The one I have is from Target, but they don't have any that I could find.
I'm breastfeeding/pumping every 3 hours and eat a lot of carbs and a decent amount of sweets. I'm basically non-stop from 10 am - 1/2 am so I'm sure that helps too.
With DD, I didn't nurse on demand and it took forever to lose the weight. I didn't care (I wasn't going to try with this pregnancy until I went back to work), but I will take it!
DH is only home Monday and Tuesday all day (he's gone 11 am - 12 am Wednesday - Sunday), so I had to figure things out quick!
LLR is expensive, but I'll vouch for the maxi skirts. @bamacoop
I'm living in my men's XXL lounge shirt and pants. It is not flattering but soooo comfortable and it doesn't touch anything on my incision. I had my picture taken in it though and good god I was huge!
@CopperBoom86 So I'm re-watching GG and the first time through, I thought Dean was ok in the beginning and got progressively douchier as the show went on but I've changed my mind. I don't even like him in the beginning. I don't see what Rory ever saw in him.

@MRSCORKER - Yeeeeeessssss. He was like a pitiful little puppy dog in the beginning- catering to her every want and need. Yuck! And then, yes, he turned into a douche.
@nlane0723 you look amazing and I don't even know how you do it!

I feel like there should be a mental health thread for all the postpartum moms. Just to keep an eye on each other? Thoughts?
Yes! I tried to make one on fb but it's hard to keep it going and fb had to put a limit on chat participants. I know I'm struggling some days especially as night approaches and I know it's going to be exhausting

I will forever hate that he was Rory's "first."
I kind of hate that he was too but I also kind of appreciate that she finally screwed up and wasn't so "perfect" for once. Once she gets with Logan she effs up a lot more but the Dean incident was sort of the first time we see that she's human.

I like the Angelcare bath support more than the FP Tub with the newborn sling. The FP tub is too big and they are too tiny for the sling it comes with. They fit perfectly in the bath support and I think it's going to be much easier to use until they can sit up. It gets all the gold stars. @CopperBoom86 and @CaptainPhasma
I have an iphone 4 that takes fairly decent photos and then I have a kinda large canon from a few years back that is my regular go to camera. Will I want that in the hospital? Or will I be happy with my phone?

I'm only taking my phone, I figure I won't really feel like dealing with anything more complicated.

But that's only going to work when he is tiny I think.
In other news, it's my last week of work!
