Re: Symptoms Thread Oct. 3rd

  • I think I may be having some contractions this morning. It starts in my back and then comes around my stomach, but only the lower half. I also have an intense feeling like I need to poop (with no luck, of course.)

  • Called my doctor this morning because my stomach has been pretty rock hard most of the time the past couple of days, especially on the right side (baby's favorite spot) and the doctor said it sounds like contractions and to drink lots of water and see how it goes. They aren't painful so I didn't think it was contractions, but guess I'll go with the flow and see if anything happens.
  • All my belly muscles hurt so bad. I haven't even been contracting much this week but it feels like I should be for how much pain I'm in. Also the inside of my thighs feel like they've been extensively worked out. All this muscle pain sucks. :(

  • DH is headed to CVS to ask the pharmacist, but has anyone who had a cold gotten the green light for decongestant from their OB? I called them but their nurses take forever to call back and I'm dying from this cold. This must be what a man cold feels like.

  • oh my gosh I finally started to get that "i feel like I've been punched in the vagina" feeling and its miserable!

sooooooooooo miserable!  I think I notice it most if I have a really busy day. Good thing today was my last "official" day of work.

Alllllllll the braxton hicks. I swear they almost feel constant, but they're not painful. And feel nothing like my labor with DS. Just uncomfortable if I try to move.

Yesterday, I was feeling them in my thighs, which I've heard people talk about before, but never experienced. Very eager to see what the doc says about my cervical check on Friday (even though I know it has no real bearing on when I'll go into labor). I just hope these BH are doing something!

  • Update: Dr says my pain is not contractions. It's driving me crazy. I need to find an approved stool softener or something...maybe it's just super terrible gas and constipation. I'm supposed to be up and walking around, but when I have to hunch over to ease the pain, not so simple!

Colace (OTC stool softener) is safe for use in pregnancy.  I also find prune juice and lots of water to be very helpful when constipated.  Walking will also help pass gas/get things moving, although I know it's the last thing you want to do right now.  Hope you feel better soon!
  • RLP continues to be a bitoch. So close though. Also sleeping sucks. As does carpel tunnel. I'm full of fun!

I can't really sit or do anything that creates less space in my torso. Whenever I do, I get a stabbing pain up in my right rib cage, near the top. Getting on all 4's helps, and "laying" in child's pose or something similar gives some relief, but I can't just sit on my couch or a chair. Standing is the best but then my legs get really tired and my heart starts to race. Wtf?!

cankles, the right foot is something to behold no matter how much I walk or put my feet up, but no preeclampsia so maybe it's just the Miami humidity...burning throat due to heartburn pretty much no matter what i eat or drink, insomnia (check)....and I'm glad i saw the pregnancy rage post because I literally have no tolerance for BS right now lol

  • So much rage over here.... My left foot is swollen to some ridiculous degree (my doc claims its normal but looks almost as bad as when I had severe pre-e), heartburn for days, this morning I randomly puked all over my bathroom while my previous 4 year old watched it dismay, the absolute worst RLP, and insomnia like a mother. I'm a real joy to be around these days. Oh and can we talk about the pregnancy acne?!?!? Oh my teenage years happening again all over my face. And no BH, or anything that could possibly resemble early labor. 37w3d.
  • @byebabybunting I assume you have a response, but my OB okayed pseudoephedrine, dextromethorphan, I think something else. Oh yeah guafenesin.

  • @ByeBabyBunting this might also be too late but my doctor only green-lighted allergy meds for Congestion because some of them raise your BP and I have hypertension. I think the ones from @RainMira9e are fine if that's not your situation :)

@sportiegrl1213 I am in this same boat!
  • Took a (short) walk with the dog after work to try to help this labor thing along. Now everything hurts and I am feeling allllll the pressure.

  • So much pressure down there, and my vagina just hurts. I also randomly started experiencing hip pain, almost like a hip pointer. I read its my muscles and everything loosening up for labor, but there is no real relief! Not to mention all this has me extra cranky especially while still working!
  • +1 for major hip and lower back pain. I quit.
  • You know when you aren't feeling well, when you pass up Taco Bell on Taco Tuesday, which happens to be National Taco Day! These hot flashes are killing me and making me feel nauseous!  :(

  • I want to try curb walking...but I can barely walk with this butt/hip pain (sciatica?). Plus, woke up 3 times last night with my numb hands just THROBBING.  Plus, the hip pain is spreading into my back so even just sitting is uncomfortable.

Plus, I'm just realizing I haven't felt any baby rolls or wiggles in a while... Amazing how the worry immediately puts all the pain and discomfort in the background!  Going to drink a coke and see if I can get munchkin moving around!!
  • I guess I never used my back muscles before but between holding Jace and feeding him my lower back is taking a beating - doesn't help that my couch is uncomfortable AF and the recliner doesn't have proper back support and we didn't have the money to invest in a glider.

@sportiegrl1213 so the CT - it comes and goes now after birth.  The tips of my fingers are tingly/numb and occasionally I wake up not being able to fully open my hand.  The only time it flares is if Jace is eating a lot which means burping and the motion with the position of the hand makes the wirst ache.  But it does seem to get better!!

  • @LMNOBaby sorry you feel so crappy and all this is happening. I was on the train of "he can come whenever, later the better" but after how I've been feeling the last few days, he can come anytime next week!

  • @LMNOBaby hang in there, we are almost to the finish line and you are in good company. I can hardly lift my left legs from pain. My baby also made me
nervous from lack of movement this weekend but has perked back up now.
  • @sportiegrl1213 Hot flashes are the pits. I have them when I'm not pregnant every now and again but I think they're worse now!! Hope you are feeling better soon!

@LMNOBaby We're having a slow moving day here too. I've felt some but not as much as usual. About to get myself a caffeine free coke and make him have a dance party. Hope it works for you!

  • I am so uncomfortable and just gross. My feet are so swollen and extra fluid is causing some other sort of painful issue in my left foot, so I have to hobble when I walk. None of my maternity pants fit anymore because my legs are so swollen. Just 10 more days...

@ball4768 I've worn the exact same leggings and tank top to work going on 10 days....literally the only thing I have that fits and isn't shorts. I have to wash them every weekend!

I'm also wearing slippers to work because IDGAF, and my feet are 4 sizes bigger than normal. :(

@sportiegrl1213 - I'm sorry for your hot flashes! I know from experience those are NOT fun.  Had one a couple weeks ago that took me almost 45 minutes to cool down from.  And, I feel you on baby coming - I used to be fine with him or her taking their time, but now, between the hip pain and the numb hands (which despite having no feeling STILL throb in pain somehow all night long), I'm ready any day now! Just bought some pineapple!

@Nichole06 The hip and back pain just sucks! I want to do things to prep for baby still, but I legit can't move. SO ready for that finish line! Hang in there lady!

@ibabyloveb87 - I had a caffeine free diet coke...and a burrito with spicy salsa, just thought the diet coke needed a side. ;)  Baby's been having party in my tummy since! So, now that my worrying is over, I can just go back to plain old complaining.

@spaceburger - i was down to 2 outfits for work...both of which I was pairing with my husband's flip flops since my fat feet couldn't fit in mine anymore.  Thank goodness I'm working from home now - give me all the sweatpants (which are really one pair that still fit...).
  • I was wearing yoga pants from the second I had to switch to maternity pants. Lol. Rock those comfy clothes ladies!

Anyone else on the toilet at least twice a day? It started yesterday or the day before, can't remember. I didn't really have problems with constipation this pregnancy, but now I'm having multiple loose BMs a day and it doesn't feel good! Lol

  • My feet are so swollen, especially at night. Then I wake up in the morning and my hands are swollen and feel like they're pins-and-needles asleep.

And the ever-present pelvic bone pain...

On the bright side, only ~3 more weeks of this!

  • @krzyriver I started having to poo more frequently a week or so before all the action started. I think it had to do with more frequent contractions also stimulating the ol' bowels.

Tmi... But I hope that's what's happening to me and I have this baby soon!!!
  • @bnsmith85 I hope that for you! Sending labor vibes your way ;)
