@lfrank12 I love Harlowe and am now stealing it for a potential future daughter. Also like Everly... that's Channing Tatums kids name... And there's your useless piece of information for the day!

I also need some name opinions! We had our boy name picked out so it was fate we are having a girl! Now we are starting from scratch. Last name is a two syllable German name.
Names we can agree upon so far... Addison Amelia Everly Harlow
I feel like those are all really trendy names, with the exception of Amelia which I think is classic and lovely.
@Spicyweiner yes H has been surprisingly picky about potential names. We only got to this list after going through about 100 others! If we go with a more trendy name I am hoping to bring in a more traditional name for the middle name
@lfrank12 My favorite is Amelia. It's so beautiful and timeless! I'm very over the '-dison' trend.
@paigeed I love Jacob David or Jeremy David. But all are good choices! I'd probably use Lucas NN Luke just because it's flows better with David but they are all solid choices.
@lfrank12 Of the options you listed I like Amelia. We have a 2-syllable German last name too and I like the way Amelia flows with it the best. I also think it has a similar to feel to the name we gave DD #1- Abigail, so that could be part of why I prefer it too.
DH and I like Cole. I like Ryan, Jacob NN Jake possibly, Luke, and Jeremy. We will use David as a MN.
I think Jeremy David sounds nice and Ryan David next... I for some reason insert that scolding tone when thinking of middle names. That's how I pick lol so I was thinking "Jeremy David!, don't you throw that toy car at me!." Lol that's how I do it

Have you thought of Imogen? (Kind of sounds like Emma jean?)
I thought Imogen was pronounced like Im-oh-gin? A friend's niece has that name and I thought that's how she said it.
I read this and said "Imhotep...Imhotep" in my head....like from The Mummy. Imogen is a cute name though, I like it!
Something like that. I think it depends on the person speaking's inflections or accent. Kristen Wiig was in a movie (Girl Most Likely- awesome awesome flick) and that was her character's name. I liked it.
DD1- Aug11 Angel Baby- June13, said goodbye Oct12 DD2- Aug13 DD3- due Feb17
I would also tend to pronounce it Ih moh gin. Pronunciation confusion is annoying, but might be worth it for such a pretty name.
We're having a hell of a time with boy names. Our first son is Luke. Our last name starts with S and ends with -"son", and it's a HARD last name to pair with boy names. I like a lot of names ending in "n" or "s" but they don't work well our last name. Harrison, Benjamin, Julian, Lincoln. Right now we're tossing around Jack or Grant, but aren't sold on either. Ugh. Girl names are so much easier.
@tentacular we've got a similar problem - our LN ends with -er so we've eliminated all -er/-ar/-or names and are really leaning towards -n's! You can take the r's, though - Trevor, Connor, Tyler, Parker, Carter...
@MommaBean - Thanks, but... I don't want those ones! All the -r names sound so... preppy. Or is that just me? Are you guys close to deciding on a name?
We want a strong, classic boy name that will work for a man as well as a boy. And Luke is such a good strong man name, that we don't want to saddle little brother with a "little brother" name that feels like an afterthought. Maybe we're overthinking...?
@Spicyweiner I actually really do like the name Jack... and it would make 15-year-old me very happy to know that adult-me would one day name a child after "the most beautiful and amazing tragic character ever written," Jack Dawson from Titanic. Oh man.
@tentacular lol. I can see "preppy." No, not really close... I've been digging Declan but H dislikes it so much he thought I was joking! I also like Mason, but I think it's too popular. H's fav is Derek, which is ok. DS suggested Bradley. It's definitely a maybe, but I like Bradley James and we're debating the "BJ" aspect...

There's a sibset in my school. All 4 are boys, Luke, Jack, Hank and Buck. Personally I don't like the name Buck, but I like the other 3.

We've had our boy name picked out even before we got pregnant: Henry Sheridan (Henry was her grandfather's name and almost all of our nephews have Henry as a middle name; Sheridan was my maternal grandfather & Uncle's name--I didn't get to meet either, so I wanted to honor them since we kept my last name).
Girl's names have been harder. There really aren't any that we're super tied to, and would like to honor her family with one name since Sheridan could be the middle name for either sex. We came up with a few ideas we felt lackluster about. Luckily, it's no longer a concern

I just told my fiancé that I had a gut feeling about the name we'd end up with. I had a strong gut feeling it was a boy and I was right. I told him Jackson and he does like it! We haven't agreed on many yet so that's good! The middle (and last obv) are already set so we just need the one.
@br00kstar my 3 year old's name is Isaac and it's been a good choice! My husband was the one in love with the name to be honest. I agreed to it since he was so sure, and I find picking boys names really hard. But anyhow, it's easily recognizable, classic/biblical and we haven't run into very many other Isaac's in his classes and such.
@FreshBakedBrownies - good to know that there aren't any regrets there, and that although its a classical name, there aren't a million Isaacs running around!
@br00kstar +1 for Isaac. It's a name I've always loved, but thought I'd never bring my husband around to. But as of this morning he's actually considering it! I love the nickname Izzy for a baby/toddler, too.
We have not picked anything yet. On our actual contender boy list we have Henry (Hank?), Christopher, Nicholas, Andrew (Drew or AJ), John (Jack) and a couple others.
We are nickname people, all of us go by a nickname and have longer full names. My older son is Benjamin, and some of the names I kind of like do not go well with that. I can picture the, you named him Benjamin and I got Augustus? conversation when they are older, lol. Our last name is super common and he has a lot of family we are avoiding copying since everyone is local.

With DD we had a boy and a girl name decided before the anatomy scan. With this baby we have been at an impass on names. We've narrowed our list since we now know baby is a boy, but can't decide on a name. DD is Aven, so we want something not too common, but DH is in love with the name Oliver. I'm liking Harrison and Augustus but he is still on the the fence with both names. So for now, my daughter refers to her brother as "poor nameless baby brother."
Is this pronounced how it's spelled? I.e. different from "Naomi"?
I think it's n eye ohmee
Don't some people pronounce Naomi that way? Anyhow I love the name Naomi! (Not using it since team blue). I would vote for the traditional spelling and pronounce it however you like.
