Let Me Introduce Myself...

Hello! I'd like to introduce myself My DH and I started dating in 2009, and married in 2013. Whether or not I want to believe it, we've been dealing with our IF for 6 years. The first 4 were just NTNP. It wasn't until 2 years ago that we decided to start seeing an RE to help. In 2014 we were diagnosed with unexplained IF. Everything was normal on my end, and my DH had semi-low sperm count, but was otherwise normal. We did 3 medicated cycles using Letrozole and triggers, all of which resulted in BFN... and one IUI cycle that also resulted in a BFN. IF starting consuming my life and Iead to a bout of stress and depression... With that mixed in with the process of buying a house, I basically had a meltdown (IF + home buyng = insanity). When that happened, DH decided it was time to take a break. We stopped seeing the RE, stopped temping/timing/etc, and just went back to how things were before IF. We've taken the last 2 years to get things straight in our life (jobs, house, finances, etc) and it seems the only thing that is missing is a family. I'm 32, and that scares me. I know the clock is ticking!

So last month we took a new approach and DH went to a urologist. DH had a SA and things were like before... borderline, with a lower than average count. But not terrible. So his doc said if his count would improved, he thinks we have a pretty good chance. He was prescribed Arimidex and will begin taking that this week, with a follow up in 3 months.

I saw my RE a few weeks ago. I tried to go in with a positive outlook and a fresh state of mind. But after the first few minutes of the consult she slid me a binder about IVF. She said she wanted us to look through it because "after 6 years of this there has to come a time that we say 'ok, this is real' and IVF may be the only logical option.." That was not exactly what I was hoping to hear... BUT... We aren't to that point... yet... First order of business is to figure out why I'm not regular anymore. (I haven't had a normal cycle in about 15 months. Most cycles have been between 15 and 20 days, with a few skipped ones.) I have a SIS scheduled for Wednesday.. and after that we will be able to build a plan. 

I'm so thankful that this community is here because it really helped me the last time we went though this (yes! I was a part of this group back then too!) and I know the support and knowledge will be here again this time around. I can't wait to get to know you all and share our stories with each other!
