Serena and Lily

Is anyone planning on using Serena and Lily bedding or have you used it in the past?  I found one set on a different website thats marked down a little from their normal prices (around $400 instead of close to $600)  so I'm seriously considering it, but I wonder if it is really worth the money for a 3 piece set...I would hope the quality would be pretty good.  Anyone have any experience with this? TIA!

Re: Serena and Lily

  • Their stuff is adorable! But I just can't imagine that it's that much better quality than some other brands. I was shocked at how expensive their stuff is and I was looking at Pottery Barn and similiar places. I think over $100 for each piece is a bit much for an infant since you won't be able to use some of the pieces right away. Just a thought. Good luck. Their stuff is definitely some of the cutest!

  • I think when you are looking at that price category (luxury bedding), you can do better than Serena and Lily.  We got bedding by Gordonsbury, which is hand embroidered.  It's in upscale baby boutiques like Bellini's, but you can also order it online with free shipping.  I would check out their bedding because I think you'll find the quality is better and the patterns IMO are cuter.
  • Their bedding is gorgeous, but too expensive for me to justify.

  • Oh. jesus.  I don't know why it just did that!

    ANYWAY. . .

from S&L for 54.00.  I'm NOT sorry that I did this.  While the S&L fabric is a little softer (like a *Tiny* bit), the finish and color are the same.  We were going to get the bumper, but i've heard such mixed reviews about having bumpers in geeral, and the one I wanted was 350. . . so I just decided not to get it.

Personally, I don't think 400 dollars is crazy, if you love the bedding!  I would recommend their products :)

  • I was looking at it online as well. We are not going to find out the sex of the baby so I was planning on getting inexpensive bedding to start than once we know the sex I would invest in something higher quality like S&L. I actually just spent my morning going to a few stores to check them out in person and got to say, not that amazing. Nice but not great. Not so different from lower priced brands in terms of quality although patterns are really cute.?
  • I'll just add that I kind felt the same way as MBNB when I viewed samples in-store.  I bought the Cameron pattern, which is linen. I feel like the quality of this pattern in particular is very high.  Some of the other patterns that are cotton, didn't feel very luxurious.  Another reason I opted for different sheets.

If you can find a store near you that carries the line, I would recommend checking it out in person--that will help a lot!  There seems to be variation among the different fabric types.
