  • @brooklyngirl18 I don't know the answer to your question, but just wanted to tell you that I've had the same issue! Almost positive OPKs and temp increases the next couple days. I always assumed that I just wasn't catching them at the right time, since I do the strips with FMU and I refuse to dehydrate myself in the afternoons 5 days in a row to actually catch the surge. I will say that the cycle I got pregnant f last, I had a very clear positive OPK with FMU. I'm thinking about trying the CBE Advanced kit this cycle.

    @E2theB I'm glad you set up the appt with your OB. Hopefully they can help you!

    @SoonToBeMommaHowe I think that's a sign! C'mon Yankee Doodle babies!!

  • @chloe97 I'm sorry  you're having issues too but I'm glad it's not just me. I'm not too concerned because it's really just a tool to detect ovulation and I see a temp shift every month it's just frustrating in terms of timing bd. if this month doesn't work out maybe I'll try out the cb advanced. I've been using wondfo cheapies. god i really hope this is my month.

    @chloe97 and @brooklyngirl18. I have the same issue with Wondfo OPKs. I get almost positive lines that are *so close* but not quite positive. It's always lined up with a temp shift for me and fertile CM, and my period always shows up 13-14 days later. I got pregnant twice - I'm definitely ovulating. I asked my Endo about this (she did a residency in OB), and she said that maybe my LH surge is just below the sensitivity of the test strips. I was testing 4x per day at one point (*hangs head in shame*), so I know it wasn't a matter of missing my surge. And it's not a matter of drinking too much and having dilute urine for me either. I too was thinking of trying CBADs once we start TTC again. Neither my Endo nor my OB were concerned about it as long as I'm ovulating. It's on my list of things to ask an RE though.
  • @riversong15 I'm sorry you're dealing with this also, it's such a mind F isn't it? I think as long as we see a temp shift then it's no biggie I'm  just curious if the low surge is a reflection of anything else going on.

  • @brooklyngirl18 I'm curious too. H and I want to see an RPL RE in early November, and I'm planning on asking this question then. Hopefully you're not still hanging around here then (in the best possible way!), but if you are, I'll let you know what she says :)
  • @RiverSong15 thanks!! best of luck with your appointment.

  • @RiverSong15 Let us know if you get an answer from your RE. I can ask mine this next week when I see her, but I'm not too impressed with her. Hopefully I have a clear saline sonogram next week and I just have to see her every 6 weeks for thyroid checks.

  • Back in the swing of things from vacation! My temps are all off this month since the palace we stayed on vacation was super cold and not a thick comforter like we have at home so I think that contributed to much lower temps than I normally have and now I am back home right around O time. Hope it will pick up my actual O shift.

    I have had positive OPKs yesterday and today and of course this morning DH blew me off for sex. We got with it a little bit ago, but I wanted to shake him. When the test says HIO we need to HIO!

  • I'm so glad the OPK's are driving others to fits of confusion and annoyance! I haven't started on the temping train but in a fit of annoyance bought a thermometer today! The calendar says I should have a blinking smiley faces all over the place (CD13, EWCM) but still that terrible little circle (using CBAD). So, of course, I spent have my work day googling anovulatory cycles, skipped ovulations after MC, perimenopause, and menopause because I'm an ancient 39! I didn't think I would become a temping, charting devotee but here I am! And I love it!! Glad we're all here together!
  • I got my temp spike THIS morning, which means we had -1 and +1 timing! So glad it's not a wasted cycle!!

    @kidria Welcome to the dark side ;)

    I don't want to be a butt, but just wanted to make sure that the thermometer you got is BBT-specific and/or goes to two decimal places?? Also, I had a positive OPK followed by a day of near positives and one day of not positive and only got my temp spike today, whereas last month my temp spike was the same day as my positive OPK and I was already wondering if this cycle was going to be anovulatory, too, ugh! Those OPKs, I tell ya lol

  • @kidria  @rainbowturtles OPKs drive me bonkers! temping really is the most reliable method in my opinion (i could be totally wrong) but for me personally i go by temps more than opk or ewcm. all together it paints a picture but i tend to trust my temps more.

    @brooklygirl18  OPKs are crazy frustrating, but they are useful for timing sex. By the time your temp rises, it's too late. I can't keep up every day sex for a full week, so OPKs help me know when to get down to business so that I don't hate TTC sex. Temps are the only way to confirm O though (OPKs give you a 12-48 hour window *maybe*). So for early testers (guilty as charged), temps are the only way to go :)

    ETA: @rainbowturtles Yay for timing!!!!!
  • Man I haven't been on here in two weeks! It has been a crazy time. Today is cd 12 and so far not sign of O. Went to the RE the past to Mondays and found out that the tubes all are clean and that I have PCOS. Started a low carb diet and I am craving anything sweet and donuts! All my blood work came back good and we are waiting on DH analysis to come back. We have an appointment next Thursday to determine the best course of action. Kind of nervous, but I figured might as well try like normal till we can start new next cycle with the plan.
