@ceclarlinetlo loving the elephant! Always wanted to get into that kind of stuff.
@shishiemarino very awesome mobile! Haven't seen any that I really like, I might make one too! How did you get it attached to the ceiling? And, is that fishing line? Gotta look for a dreamcatcher tutorial lol
I wasn't going to custom make anything, but you guys have inspired me! Already got something two things in mind. Will post once it's finished!
Looking some suggestions. I am looking for some prints that are purple, yellow, and gray and the one's I'm finding are more than I really would like to spend. I am somewhat crafty, just not overly talented when it comes to drawing and painting type things. I don't knit, crochet, or cross-stitch (although I have done some cross-stitching and knitting before). Any ideas on something I could do to help bring some purple in to our yellow and gray nursery? I love the banner @LeahNicole but my mom usually makes a banner with baby's name once she finds it out (after delivery). That will help with the color because she will incorporate purple, just looking for some other things to put on the walls.
@Carly79 do you have any frames to put on the wall? Maybe you could paint some of those frames purple/yellow/grey? Since you're crafty but not too well with the drawing, maybe you could print out some designs on colored paper that you could cut and just arrange the design in the frame? So it'll be just silhouettes of shapes. Don't know how else to explain it lol.
I will keep an eye out for crafty ideas for you if I see any good ones.
Planning on going on a sewing-spree once I'm off work in 4 weeks. I want to make an appliqué wall hanging, some nursing covers, receiving blankets & going to attempt some Harem pants. Pinterest is the best!
@carly79 have you tried a google image search? All the framed prints in DD1 room I printed for free online that way and then bought matts and frames to schmancy them up a bit. You could even have them printed at kinkos or staples or someplace that makes more interesting siZes than 8x10
@AlicjaB and @KAShock Those are both great ideas, thanks! I hadn't thought about looking for free images to print off. I had kind of been thinking about the abstract shape thing with frames. I had also thought about some abstract type painting on canvas but worried about how it will come out. I'll have to walk around Hobby Lobby and Michael's this weekend to get some ideas.

Michaels should definitely have some purple frames- I bought some 8x10 ones there a few weeks ago! They were on sale, too!
Posted in the nursery thread as well but thought that since technically I made the banner then it belongs here! Her name is going to be painted black and somehow attached to the banner. I'm also thinking of finding some other ribbon or something for the sides of the banner where it's hanging
Thank you for the ideas. I think I figured out what I'm going to do and can't wait to get started. I ordered these decals and then this weekend I'm going to go to Hobby Lobby or Michael's and pick up wood letters that spell out DREAM in a whimsical font. I will spray paint those a lilac color. I'll hang those above the crib with the gray cloud like animals up around it. I may still do the frame idea on another wall because I love that look too. I'll post pictures when I get it done.
You ladies are so crafty!!!! I made these for my friend who recently had a baby & I had to go back and make my own pair for my baby girl. I don't know what else I plan on doing but hopefully more crafts to come!

Oh my goodness!! Please make me those!! Haha I love them!!
@mudderbear Thanks!!!! I totally can if you're serious? Hahaha! I love making this kind of stuff.
@kelseyh62 Thank you!!! When I got my start with the company I work for, I actually started as a buyer for crafts. My old boss gave me a Cricut machine and I started to teach myself how to use it. Cricut has a design space program where I design my decals and then it sends it to the machine to cut out. For these, I found the Harry Potter font online, designed the decal, and cut it out on the machine with heat transfer vinyl to iron it on the onesies. I make all kinds of stuff--- shirts, tumblers with monograms or your name, paper crafts such as cake toppers or banners, etc. Basically any of those personalized gifts you see on Etsy I can make as well.

Ive been seeing fabric garland on Pinterest and decided to make one today. I'll have to move it somewhere else when he can pull up because I'm sure it would get yanked right off but it looks cute for now. I got the supplies to make one of those paper dot mobiles too, but after punching out the first 100 dots I decided to save that for another day.
@mudderbear I have no idea how much shipping is from Florida to Canada. I suppose I can use FedEx or DHL? I can roll them up really teeny tiny so I am sure it wouldn't be that much, they could fit in just about any type of packaging. I will make them for $5 each! I have tons of other designs I've made too that are HP themed, I can show you those if you would like a different kind. Also, I have other colors of vinyl available as well as glitter vinyl.

FYI Joanns has a ton of fabrics on sale this week. 99 cent quarters and the cotton snuggle fabrics (thicker, receiving blanket type cotton) were like $2 a yard. I got some to make burp rags. Trying to decide if I want to make rectangles or try one of the curved bean shaped patterns I've seen floating around. I found some minky terrycloth for the absorbent backing thats so soft, it'll be a shame for these to get barfed all over.
I did make stuff for my daughter this past year. I am still in the process of making a liberty fabric hexagon quilt for her by hand but it's gonna take a few years to complete. For my boy? Nothing yet! Maybe when he gets older and I have some more time on my hands!
The colors don't quite come through as pretty here, but I love it!!
That's really similar to the one I'm going to make! Mine will be different colors though yours turned out great! Did you knit or crochet? I'm going to knit, found the pattern I'll use on ravelry!
@ceclarlinetlo I made myself power through this blanket so hard, because I cannot wait to start this cross stitch project, which is admittedly not at all for the nursery!
@karaelaine1991 This is crochet. I am much less practiced in knitting!
Oh cool! I'm way better at knitting haha I can crochet a chain and that's about it. I would like to teach myself more but I always end up getting frustrated because I'm at the point that I can knit pretty much anything I want, so when I get stuck in crocheting I'm like, "why am I even doing this?!" and give up haha. Maybe one of these days!
My SIL got in to crocheting and made a gorgeous mobile for her daughter (as well as little outfits for pictures and hair pieces and lots of other things). I haven't ever tried but think I would enjoy it. For my son we bought an old changing table at a garage sale and refinished it. Here's a pic of before (on top) and after (on bottom) Sorry if it's huge.
Awesome! Nice job! I like this piece and love the color you stained it. I find a lot second hand, nice sturdy stuff.
I feel like I pimped this here before but I'm an avid video game cross stitcher so:
The left side of this is baby Bowser Also... so I started working on this when we started TTC. I finished it literally the night before I got my BFP. I wasn't sure if I wanted to put it in his nursery but it seems so fitting. He is the dream I've been looking for:
We're doing a Totoro nursery, so I'm not totally sure how I'm going to work these in, maybe in the nursery bathroom (which is really cool that our new house has a bathroom inside of the nursery bedroom, yay).
Wow! Love these! Totoro nursery sounds rad! Love Totoro. My daughter had a handmade Totoro hat my sister in law bought her last year. Since I am on my second, I am planning to decorate my 16 month old's new room and put my boy in the existing nursery....
Are you making something for the nursery? Sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, sculpting, cross stitching, woodworking etc? Taking an older piece of furniture and changing it to suit your style or needs? If you are making it/adjusting it yourself I would love to see your progress and/or finished projects!
I'm making some decent progress on this blanket. I started it after I saw Cletus the fetus' heart beat, but put it down for a while. I have more motivation to finish it now that @cjs260 opened the modern cross stitch elephant pattern can of worms for me. I have like 4 patterns that I want to do for the nursery, but I'm making myself finish this blanket first!
It looks a little wonky right now, but once I have the rows done and border on it the tension from all the stitches should make it look neater and more squarish lol. It's also not color accurate at least on my screen. It's more of a medium/light grey.
edit: apparently my brain forgot that punctuation is a thing lol.
Looks cool! I am more of a knitter but have done a little crochet. However the last thing I tried to crochet had me baffled, it was a popcorn stitch amigurmi lamb doll and I had trouble keeping count! -Maybe I will circle back to that later to make.

A fabric banner I made to dress up plain white sheer curtains! I'm not very crafty so this feels like a major win!
@LeahNicole cute colors on the banner!
