  • Endocrinologist tomorrow for an ultrasound for "suspicious feelings" on my thyroid. Then OB on Wednesday.
  • 28 week appointment on Wednesday. Hoping to ask about disability leave paperwork and get that finished for work as well as ask a few other questions and see if she can do anything about my horrid cold that I think is not just a cold anymore.

  • 3 hour GTT right now and a 30 week appointment on Thursday. :)

Ladies, when is a good time to schedule a 3D/4D ultrasound? I wanted to wait til he was more developed and would look close to what he'll look like at birth as far as facial features, but I don't want to wait too late either.
  • 1 hour GT, rhogam, and tdap shots on Friday. I'm guessing my mood is going to be spectacular as I leave the OB covered in bandaids.  >:)

  • I've got my 29 week appointment Thursday. Nothing extra except hopefully getting the flu shot, they were out at my last appointment. If they're out again I'm just gonna get it from a drugstore.
  • I have a busy week! 30 week appointment this afternoon. I might also get the flu shot. Tomorrow we are going to meet with a pediatrician to see if we like him. Wednesday we have our last childbirth prep class.

    DD- 11/2016
  • GD test and tdap shot, then a childbirth class over the weekend.
  • Busy week...

Today - Hospital. Although another couple in our birth class said the "tour" is a 100 people in a room for a sales pitch. You don't even get to see a real room  :'(

Thursday - 28 week OB appointment. Repeat 1 hour glucose since my old OB did my first one too early.  :/ Need to get my breast pump prescription for insurance. And we're going to be discussing birth plan/wishes. Hopefully OB is supportive and we won't need to look elsewhere.

Saturday - Postnatal rejuvination workshop by a local physical therapist. Our birth class instructor has been signing her praises for weeks and she's doing a free clinic so I figured I'd check it out.

    Sunday - 4th Bradley class.
  • Thursday is my 30 week appointment. I wanna make sure to ask about when to get Tdap and the flu shot. So I had one of my growth scans at 28 weeks and the technician said "I guess we'll see you at 32 weeks", but that isn't what the high risk doc said, he mentioned 36 weeks as the next check so I want to follow up with the OB to ask if I should go in at 32 weeks as well.

  • @Gizmo1231 that's great to hear! I've told a couple people about the 4 weeks ahead thing and their response is "well you are pretty big" or my MIL "I knew the dates were wrong because of how big your stomach is, October 31 is a good day to be born" (that's her birthday so ummm heeeeeelllllll no :)

  • I have my 31 week app on Wednesday. We will hopefully take a look at my cervix/take the stitch out, and schedule another growth scan. She was measuring almost 3 weeks ahead last US, so we'll see.

  • I have my transfer appointment with the midwives practice in the hospital that's closer to me. I just had my 30 week check up last week so I'm not sure if they'll want to do anything other than go over my previous labs and talk about pregnancy so far. That said, I haven't seen LO on an ultrasound since 22 weeks an I really want to see his little face!
  • I have my 27 week appointment (I think I'm a week ahead) and GD test on Wednesday.  My Dr. isn't planning to switch from monthly appointments until 36 weeks at this point, then we will go weekly.  Anyone who is having late MS have any problems with their glucose test? I am really nervous that the glucola is going to make me sick.

Friday we are going to meet a pediatrician.

  • @BenNSarah Yep. For the 1 HR and 3 HR I took a zofran before the test and was fine during the test but haven't been able to keep down lunch or any food since. I can keep down water though so I'm sipping that and hoping to not have to go in for more IV fluids.
  • @ashleaf2018 Thanks! My mom had my same sickness issues with all of her pregnancies and she threw up the drink each pregnancy.  My Dr. won't prescribe the Zofran so I'm really hoping I can keep it down long enough for the test! I will have water with me for after the test, hoping that helps a little.
  • 29wk appt tomorrow, should schedule the RCS while we're there, as well as the every 2wk appts that will begin now. I imagine we'll also discuss/schedule the TDap and other late pregnancy whatnot but can't remember from DS what all the timelines are....

  • Tomorrow. I think it will be uneventful unless my 3 hrs gtt results are in by then. Also not sure if rcs will be scheduled or if that's the next appointment.

  • I had my 28 week appointment today.  We did the glucose test.  I also go the flu shot and the whooping cough shot.  Lots of pin pricks today. ;)  I haven't heard back on the glucose test although I was told I would be called... I'll have to call them in the morning to find out what the results were.  I have another ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday to check growth.  Lots of doctor visits this week. ;)
  • @sourlemon - you have a PM from your labor buddy

  • @dmontgo My GTT is Wednesday! I'm feeling irrationally nervous...or maybe rationally? I've been back home since Wednesday and eating like total crap. I'm scared.

  • @jennbaylor12 back at ya.

@PensiveCrayon I was on a business trip 2 of the 3 days prior to my 3 hour gtt (meaning I ate mcdonalds 3 times, red robin once, and my breakfast was pumpkin cookies I brought from home). I'm anxiously awaiting for my results still. I sadly got the call about the failed 1 hour after eating some of that...and there really wasn't much I could do to "prepare". Good luck!
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • 30 week appt today.  Everything looks good - baby is breech but Dr isn't worried yet.  I'm going to start doing some spinning babies to see if I can encourage him to move though.  Got my Tdap but they were out of the flu shot so I guess I'll try to get it at work.  I start going every 2 weeks now!
  • Follow up:  I had my endocrinologist appt this morning for my thyroid. I've noticed a fulling of fullness in my throat, so they did an ultrasound. Come to find out, my gland is quite enlarged on the right side, and I have 3 nodules on the left side. The doctor told me to try not to worry about them, that she will keep a close eye on things, but that is always easier said than done. Anyone else ever dealt with these?
  • @Mamax2 I don't have personal experience but do know quite a few women who've had pregnancy induced thyroid issues.  The hormone shift throws things out of whack - in their cases it went back to 'normal' a few months after delivery.

  • Follow-up: had my appt today, everything looked good. Still measuring 3wks ahead, another big baby! (DS was 9.5lbs) Scheduled our RCS for Dec 6th!!! Got the TDap, labs drawn, next appt in 3wks with an ultrasound, then every 2wks. Fun stuff!!

  • @ashleaf2018: I'm doing my elective 3d/4d ultrasound at 31.5 weeks, but mostly because I've scheduled it so my sister can be there.

Thank you. The endo said my gland should return to normal size after delivery, and we'll keep a check on my nodules. After speaking with another mama from here, thyroid nodules are oretty common actually.
  • Had my 28 week appointment yesterday.  Belly measurement was good, Bean's heart rate was good, and my MD looked over my glucose levels and was very impressed with how stable they were.  I should be having a growth ultrasound and my Tdap soon, as well as getting tested for group B strep.  Otherwise, pretty uneventful.  I will be able to get my flu shot through work, so I won't need to schedule that.  My doctor's office hasn't gotten their flu shot supply in anyway (even though they were supposed to have it last week and it never came in.)

  • I am waiting out my hour during the GD test right now. It was nastier than I remembered. I think for the first pregnancy, I was prepped for it to taste terrible, and it wasn't as bad as I expected. This time around, I expected it to taste like Hawaiian punch, and it had a grosser aftertaste. Oh well...certainly not the worst thing I'll deal with this pregnancy. Let's hope for good results!

  • Had my 30 week appointment today and it was pretty uneventful.  We're into appointments every two weeks now and I get to have an u/s at 34 weeks.  I was having contractions while OB was measuring so he couldn't tell position, but we'll try again in two weeks.
  • Just got home from my app. I can't decide if I like how cautious my OB is. He won't take the cerclage out, but when he checked it's about 3/4s ripped out. So he will just leave it until I'm ready to push.

He also took me completely off bed rest but changed from 4-6 contractions in an hour to 2 in 'a typical movie' length of time.

ouch?  Also are you having real contractions or BH?  I easily have 2 BH in an hour almost everyday.
  • Follow up: appointment went well, but I failed the one hour gtt so badly that they are skipping the 3 hour and moving right on to treatment.  I go for the class and first appointment next Tuesday...  I did get my flu shot and DH got his too.  Dr. is letting him do his tDap at my next appointment too.
  • Had my 30wk today and was sent for a biophysical immediately after my appt due to "decreased fetal movement" after I told the doctor he isn't very active and when i DO feel him it's more of a flick than a kick. Biophysical showed nothing out of the ordinary, but we have an ultrasound tomorrow night to check everything again.
  • Had my intake appointment with the new provider. Of course my old OB hadn't sent my records over yet, and even after they said they had just faxed them they never showed up. Anyway, got my tdap and flu shots, and they did a fundal measurement--first time I've had one! I'm measuring at 30.5, so right on track since I'm 31 weeks tomorrow. The one thing that's annoying about the new provider is that they're in a hospital, so I have to make separate appointments for sonograms and office visits. So, I have a sonogram next week and office visit the following week.
