Okay really dumb question coming... if I have a c section will I still need depends etc or does my list of needs change?
Not really. With my c-section getting up and down from the toilet was harder so I used the window a bit (no ab muscles). With my vaginal birth (VBAC) I used the spray bottle and a little bit the sitz bath but with both I bled for 6 weeks. Also, with my c-section I slept on the couch for a week or so as I couldn't get onto our higher(?) bed... I think what changes more is the length of recovery and what you can do. Etc. If this is another VBAC, I'll probably send my husband back to work after a week or two. If this ends up in another c-section, I'll need him to be around more and drive me and/or the girls places as no driving or lifting the car seat for 6 weeks after the c-section.
Highly, recommend a vaginal birth though. Even though I still had a 6 week recovery with my vaginal birth due to 2ltrs of blood loss I could do everything I had energy for. With my c-section I had to take it easy for fear of damaging muscles permanently.

Thanks for the advice! C section wouldn't be a choice considering I would have no help at home during the daytime but baby doesn't seem to want to flip at all! Just wondering how to pack for it.
My experience with c-sections was no lifting anything heavier than baby for atleast 2 weeks. Also no driving until first postpartum dr appt which also happens to be two weeks postpartum.
Is there a certain amount of time to keep the baby upright before laying down after feeding? I'm now imagining a fed baby being laid down and spitting up and choking

I don't think there's a certain amount of time. Just try to make sure to get some burps up. You will learn your baby's routine and if they need one or two or three burps to be at their most comfortable.
RE keeping baby upright after feeding: Breastfed babies will swallow less air while feeding and require less burping. They also eat less in general and have fewer issues with spitting up as a result. I never had a problem with laying DD down right after feeding her and I almost never burped her, but she was breastfed and a light eater in general. Even to this day she eats like a bird. I think it really just depends on how much fluid is in their tummies.
@kvruns it depends on the baby in my experience my oldest had colic so he had to burp immediately or you couldn't lay him down my middle it didn't matter I would try to burp her at least first but if she didn't she was fine but my youngest had acid reflux it was projectile and she had to sit up for 20-30min after eating no rocking, bouncer chair, swing any of it and all my kids were BF... Every baby is different it just depends on their bodies.
1. Should you send a thank you card if you thanked the gift giver in person?
2. Should you get a thank you gift for your shower host? (We had a coed BaByQ of about 70, including kids. Workload was split about 50/35/15% between my mom, MIL and best friend. It was dang awesome.) If yes, what's appropriate?

Thank you!
#1: Yes, I typically do. Unless you are very close to this friend and she specifically told you no card is necessary.
#2: Yes. Something small is good. A thank you card and some homemade soap, fancy chocolate or a nice candle.

I second this... Always a thank you card and definitely a thank gift for the host/hostess. I did coffee and wine themed baskets because they all enjoyed those activities.
Absolutely send a thank you note even though you thank them in person it is just a nice gesture. I'm still bitter we didn't receive a thank you note (or hell even a text thank you, or any acknowledgement at all) from H step sister from the gift we sent back in June.
1. It's already been said but yes, send a thank you note. 2. I would definitely get a hostess gift. For my mom's friends (who threw shower #1) I bought orchids. For shower #2 (aunts, mom's, cousin and sister) I am making homemade cookies. It all depends on the group and how much you can/are willing to spend. You could do gift certificates for massages/manicures, candles, wine, gift baskets, etc. The hostesses were also the first people I sent thank you notes too.
Did anyone get sick from eating foods they accidentally dropped on the floor or forgot to wash? Happened to me when I was distracted - ate fruit with skin and all and then realized it's been on all sorts of surfaces nd I forgot to wash it. I'm thinking it can't be that bad bc there's the five second rule and all, but maybe pregnancy immune compromised body isn't that great at handling germs. Just wondering about the stats out there and if I should expect to get sick this week

Try not to stress out about things outside of your control.
""Most bacteria can't be washed off," agreed Doug Powell, associate professor of food safety at Kansas State University. And although it happens rarely, bacteria in soil can also be taken up by the roots of plants and remain inside the plant's veins, where they would be impossible to remove by washing."

Even if you are not BFing it can be good to continue to take a prenatal because it's loaded with great stuff for your hair and nails. Don't be surprised if around 3-4 months PP your hair starts to fall out in what seems like giant amounts. It's natural and eventually goes back to normal but I literally thought I was loosing all my hair for a while there and considered cutting it super short to hide it because it was so thin. Prenatal vitamins can help keep your hair and nails healthy during this time.
Question: All the moms I know have an entire bathroom for their babies where they just keep the baby bath in the tub at all times. We have a one bathroom house, so that's not an option. Anyone have suggestions for a baby bath that comes out easily and stores easily without getting water everywhere???

@PrettyPalomino you can bathe baby in the sink for a while, then once they're sitting up (6 months) you can use a laundry basket as a "baby tub" inside the big tub. But I still like having one of those big blue plastic baby tubs. Once you dump out the water, you can turn it upside down and let it dry anywhere you have a spare spot (on top of a cabinet, maybe?).
With my first we had a tub but that got to be too much storage, so with my second and with this one we will just use a little seat that they lie on it in the bath tub. Basically like this one: Sorry for the large picture.

could you put up a command hook (or something similar) to hang it to dry on the far end of the bathtub? If the baby bath had a plug to release water then you should be able to hang it somehow?

We will be sharing a shower/bath with two kids now as we have two toilets, but only one tub. We have a Boon Naked tub and it collapses to pretty thin and hangs on a hook. I plan to use a shower Command hook and put it on the side of the tub. Sure, our showers will be less than spa-like, but the shower stickers and frog full of cups and toys have already taken care of that
@whaat I tried so hard to avoid plastic with my DD, I even registered for all wooden toys etc. but inevitably they stuff people gave us was plastic and after a while I just gave up ha ha we do have some nice wooden toys but we have a fair amount of plastic crap too. I guess at the end of the day it's durable and after a few years you can toss it all I totally get where you are coming from though.
Not sure if this is a dumb question or a symptom but can you get Braxton Hicks just on one side? I had some pain on the right side that sort of felt like a strong side stitch and then got stronger like a knife twisting. It came and went over the course of a couple of hours especially when I was walking. I didn't feel the baby move as if he was crowding some spot there it felt worse than any kicks or movements I've ever Felt
