Question for CD mommies....how do you store/display them? Trying to get pieces for the nursery one at a time. And I have to clue how I want to do this. Interested in pics and tips for setting up a bomb diaper stash.
DS is 21 months old and I still use the changing table for all diaper changes at home.I have photo boxes (cheesy card board box with a lid but I don't use the lid) that I fold all the inserts and put it. There's also one for covers and I just stack all the pockets I have in a pile. Nothing too glamorous!
There's this IKEA cart for $29 I really want to store them in
Omg, that cart is $29 in the States? I've been coveting it buts it's like $90 here
Totally cute but as soon as your baby is mobile he/she will adopt it and push it around and pull the diapers off constantly But babies do that to everything anyway so whatever.

Yes! And I know haha, I have a 1 1/2 year old son who is crazy out of control every second of the day. Unless I put them up high on a shelf they'll get them. I figured I'd give this a shot before I have to do that and if it doesn't work it was still cheap and can definitely be used elsewhere in the house. Ohh the life of 2 boys 2 and under
New question, I know it varies from baby to baby but our first intention was to use disposables until baby would fit into the one size covers but now I'm reading that it could take months. The question is, on average, how fast did your babies grow out of newborn sizes and into the one size fits all? BTW I plan to use flip(8-35lbs), rumparooz (6-35lbs)and blueberry(10-35 lbs) covers with some bumgenius pocket diapers as well.

I think my daughter was 3-4 months old before she fit the OS diapers.

It's really going to depend on the size/weight of your baby and the chub factor of the legs. With DS, he was teeny tiny and skinny at first, but was able to wear small gDiapers within a month (by his due date) and then start with OS (various brands, but including Flips and Rumparooz) maybe a month or two after that when he porked up a bit. I know other cloth diaper babies who could go straight to OS at birth.

Like previous posters said above, it's not just weight, it's also build. My son's diapers should have fit at 8-10lbs but it took a lot longer since he was really skinny. The waist of most of them is so adjustable it will often fit before the legs will, especially if your baby is skinny like mine. A younger baby with more chub would fit much earlier. With some diapers, you can twist the sides once before you snap them to tighten up the legs a little, but that only works so well.
I want to say we started using our OS pockets around 4-6 weeks? My daughter was born at 8.5 pounds, but very long and skinny, so even after she lost her umbilical stump, it took some time for her to not swim in them. We had a few hand-me-down NB cloth diapers, but we mostly used newborn prefolds and covers. This time I took advantage of a good sale and bought some newborn pockets that are supposed to fit up to something like 16 pounds.

I put DS in some OS diapers (Bumkins) when he was 2.5 weeks old and really didn't have any problems. But, he was almost 10 pounds when he was born. I tried looking up the weight on the covers but it doesn't seem to be listed anymore and just says "one size fits most". I'm thinking it said they fit 7-35 pounds but they don't fit DS any more and he's 30 pounds. I remember reading several places that OS covers won't fit until LO is 10 pounds mainly because their legs won't be big enough. But, every baby is different!
UPDATE on initiating cloth diapering one month in: I purchased 24 Bumgenius Freetime all in one diapers and my son asks for cloth diapers every day when he comes home from preschool, so he likes them. BUT We had a major issue with not rinsing the detergent out and his ass got ripped up by a horrible red burn. It took a week to heal even with 40% zinc.
Now I wash the diapers then rinse 2 times to ensure there are no more detergent remnants. (I was SHOCKED by the amount of soap suds I saw every time I rinsed after the wash cycle was "complete")
It broke my heart when he had the burns and now he even makes a crying face and says, "I'msorryHoney" in the tiniest little voice, because that's what I said when I cried while changing his sad little bum for a week.

RINSE RINSE RINSE your cloth diapers!
Rinsing your cloth diapers A LOT is always good advice. Can I ask what your washing routine is (what detergent you use, how much, temp of water, etc), though? Maybe there's an adjustment you can make there too so you can make double super sure there won't be any reactions in the future. I have 2+ years of experience (not a lot, admittedly, compared to some) and an arsenal of CD experts in my LLL mom friends (one works for gDiapers even) and if there's anything we can offer to help, I would be happy to!

Anyone having issues with heavy wetting? I use the bumgenius pocket at night with an extra insert and he still soaks through it after 5 or 6 hours and wets the sheets.
Eta:. I hear that hemp is most absorbent but what brand should I look into.

We've been using Happy Endings Night Night diapers at night, and we've been really happy. Super absorbent but take forever to dry.
So we had bamboo wipes but they are a little abrasive on Preston's butt, he is extremely sensitive (gets that from me poor guy) and I was thinking of either using disposables that have basically just water or another type of washable wipes, I hear flannel is softest. What reusable wipes do you use? I'd love a link to buy them too. If you do know of any disposable wipes where it is just water I'd like to know. The only one I found to work is the brand Watereipes but they can cost more than regular disposable (boo)
We do Charlie Banana. They have "regular" cotton wipes, but also have a 2-sided wipe that has fleece on one side. The regular cotton doesn't bother Cora, though it might bother Preston? I would think the fleece might be soft enough. https://www.charliebanana.com/10-Double-Sided-Wipes-Blue-Embroidery_p_27.html
We use Green mountain diapers Birdseye wipes (https://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/Birdseye-Wipes.html ) and wipes I made from flannel. I have used bum genius and honest co spray. I think bum genius has less scent. I have also just used water with them and they are great. At night and for poo I use the honest co disposable wipes.
