So. As some of y'all may remember from past posts, I am high-risk for preterm labor because I have a condition called uterus didelphys (two uterus and also two cervix). My son is kicking it in Left Uterus and I am 29+5 right now.
Last night I went to pee, wiped, and came away with a rather large glop of gooey mucus. I was also experiencing some cramping and decided a call to my doc was in order. She sent me straight to L&D where baby and I were hooked up to monitors & my cervix was checked. (It's been checked every 2-3 weeks for my entire pregnancy pretty much and has held steady). Thankfully it remains closed.
However, I was having contractions and his heart rate dropped a bit - scariest minutes of my life yet - so they gave me an IV of terbutaline to stop them. It worked. They also administered a fetal fibronecton test to check for preterm labor signs in my cervical fluid. It was positive. This means I COULD go into labor in the next couple of weeks, so, in prep for that possibility they gave me a special steroid shot that will promote the maturity of his lungs just in case. I will get another round of that tonight (it's currently 2am between Friday and Saturday).
ALL OF THAT (so sorry for the length) is to ask...
Anyone here with terbutaline-for-pre-term-labor experience? Positive FFN tests? I've searched and didn't find specific reference to them though I know we have a few mamas with early labor scares and concerns right now and think there have been steroid mentions.
Thank you for your patience with this FTM.

Re: Contractions & Passed Some of Mucus Plug
Hopefully your steroids get baby ready, but baby stays put.

This was a super unsettling experience and I hope both our little goobers stay snuggled up for a good bit longer!!
I'm a pretty regular Oct lurker and I believe some of them have had similar experiences (a few months ago?) So maybe search on that board too.

I think we are good so far today. I've been laying around and drinking water like crazy. Ollie has been active which helps to settle my worry. Monitoring contractions is going well - only BH and they're pretty spaced apart. I believe things are good but that I need to make some life modifications to avoid a turning point. They said my first 48 after last night are the first milestone, then two more weeks, and then we will go from there.
ETA: Despite being amply warned/aware that these very things were likely for me and my
funky anatomy, the reality of it is still a sucker punch. Welcome to parenthood?

SURPRISE! BFP 3/8/18
We went back last night for the second steroid shot for Little Dude's lungs. Needless to say, this visit was far less stressful. We even had Star Wars playing on the room TV which made for a nice, normal setting. They monitored contractions again which were still occurring but not nearly as frequently. They also watched his heart rate which was divine. It remained strong and steady and was praised as being more like that of a 32 week baby and not a 29/30. That's our little over achiever! I hope to follow up with my specialist tomorrow (instead of waiting another week) to really get a good look at him and my cervix and fluid levels.
Thanks to everyone for such encouraging words and positive thinking! Trust that everyone here stays on our minds too!
