@tinattt23 don't worry... next week some jerk will tell you you're about to pop. Apparently pregnant women go from not being pregnant enough to make everyone happy to making people uncomfortable within about 2 weeks.
We got varidesks at work today! Mines the only one in my group not set up because the service desk / safety team doesn't think I should do it myself. I totally agree...that thing weighs 40 pounds! I will be gone all day tomorrow for the 3 hour glucose test and the service desk is gonna do it for me. Of course I had to tear down my computer and assume I'll have to rebuild that...but that's way easier than lifting this darn thing without dying!
I'm so excited to get back on Monday and have it available to use. It was like Christmas at work today.
Anyone starting to get concerned about being behind the wheel? I'm very short (5'0") and can only push my chair back so far from the wheel and still reach my pedals. Add to this the fact that I now have a belly in the way, growing by the second, but a fear of being too close to the wheel.
@swhiddon33 I'm also 5'0" and that was actually one of the first things I thought about! It really hasn't become an issue yet though, and I'm not really expecting it to since I still have plenty of room. But I'd imagine it just depends on your car. Does you steering wheel move? I've seen some really fancy cars where the pedals adjust, but I'm not that cool
@LinziLoo09 mine is trying to kick/punch their way out of my rib cage. Uncool, kid.
@swhiddon33 that's been on my mind too. I have always driven with my seat close to the steering wheel, I'm just comfortable that way. I'm going to have to move my chair back soon, though. Thankfully I work from home so most of my driving is local. But I think after a certain point the furthest I'll be willing to drive is to my parents house 25 minutes away. I'm so paranoid I'll get into an accident. People seriously do not know how to drive here...

@DiFazette I am feeling so run down and tired and breathless. Can't stand for too long or I feel dizzy. My mouth feels like a bucket of sand. I don't know if it is just normal pregnancy symptoms or BP stuff. They messed up my appointment scheduling so I'm going next week. Does the body adapt to BP medication? Kind of paranoid about that. Just trying to keep my stress low and letting DH deal with everyone.
@swhiddon33 yes! I'm 5'3" but with super short legs, seriously. With all pregnancies, my belly is literally less than an inch away from the wheel for the last 2 months. That's with the wheel adjusted. Probably not the safest. Maybe we should get some platforms?
@dmontgo I feel you! I went to Costco yesterday with a 2 yr old, I almost died. I was panting, my back was killin me, and I was useless for the rest of the day. I keep getting these can't-get-enough-oxygen moments where I'm just panting, heart is racing, pass out feeling. It's my bp going up. At the doc the other day, even though I was in the normal range, it was high for me. My normal non-pregnant) blood pressure is very low, so even at the high end of 'normal' it feels like my body is giving out. In a month, it'll officially be in the high range. My body hates pregnancy, so it gets back at me any way it can....
I was seriously surprised (and overjoyed) that yesterday at my midwife appointment I measured exactly on target for my week!!! I was like "Really? No way! That's awesome!" Whoo hoo! However, my guy and I decided we HATE all of our names on our list (ok, that's a bit dramatic) but we are "taking a break" from names... and will revisit. We have like 15 weeks right???
@tinattt23 I can't believe it hasn't occurred to me much. Ironically on this exact date 5 years ago I was in a pretty bad wreck that required a surgery to my nose. You'd think I would be hyper sensitive to the steering wheel placement but yeah. Totally didn't go there mentally for this!! My wheel doesn't move in that way and neither do my pedals UGH.
@phoenix870509 my daily commute to work is about 25 minutes and I THINK I can continue to keep that up for now. I've been avoiding longer than that though!
@yellingbanana you've got it figured out. Done and done.
@jennbaylor12 congrats, that's awesome! I have 2 randoms. The first is that for the first time all pregnancy I've gained weight! I saw my psychologist yesterday and when she weighed me I was up 6 lb from my last appointment with her. I believe that was 4 weeks ago. Up until this point I had steadily been losing weight from being so sick, so this was awesome news. My second random is that there is a ginormous consignment sale here this weekend (actually is is Thursday- Saturday). I'm pretty pumped. I have never been to one and while we don't need a ton of stuff I'm going to check it out for some good deals.
@dmontgo yes... I was put on one med at 30 weeks, then doubled it, then added another med, then doubled that. Then quadrupled both meds. Then admitted and put on IV drugs, which also stopped working. My case was extreme so I don't want to contribute to your stress. Has your H been taking your BP at home when you feel that way? I've been stressing because I feel dizzy quite often these days. There's been no shift in pressures due to the episodes.
@DiFazette I need to be more diligent about asking H about it because he is swamped with school, work, and Army stuff that he's not home as much as he would like to be--that's why he asked me not to go upstairs anymore, and he's constantly keeping in touch to make sure I'm ok.
The dizzy spells happen at the most random times, like if I'm standing in place too long, or standing and then looking down at my phone. Then it kind of feels like my body is powering down? I'm not sure how to describe it, but I'm sure you understand--like you feel tired and heavy suddenly? Sitting for a while helps, and I take a lot more breaks. DH has told me to move slower and not be in such a rush like I'm prone to doing. My BP was great last appointment (128/86) considering where it was, but this medicine kicks my ass. So grateful to be on it, but anxious and exhausted.
Sigh. I was so excited for my Saturday... sleep in, go get a pumpkin muffin and coffee and take a leisurely drive out to a big consignment sale for kids stuff. I got there at 12:05 and guess what. Yup, missed it. It closed at 12. It was an hour drive to get there. So mad at myself for not paying attention to the clock today.
As I tucked DD (5) into bed last night, she pointed to my boobs and said, "Mommy, why are your moles getting so big?" At first I was so so confused and out of habit I said "What??" So she repeated it. Then I realized she had been in the bathroom while I was showering earlier this week and she must be talking about my nipples!! Bahahahaha DH has a couple moles on his back and well, I suppose she thought my nips resembled large moles?! LOL/Ew? I realized we had talked about how babies eat from mommy's chests/breast but never used the word nipple. So we had to have a quick anatomy lesson and she asked if daddy could feed babies from his nipples. hehe I think we cleared everything up.
I had the Tdap shot at my last appt. this week. I got every single mild adverse reaction. I felt so sluggish, had a fever, headache and my arm hurt so bad for two days. Thankfully, 3-4 days later I am back to my old self. Just wanted to give y'all a heads up in case you feel sluggish afterwards. One good thing is that I know that the shot is working and my immune system is reacting to it, so that's a good thing.

My poor belly. I keep on forgetting that I have this ever growing belly, and I've bumped into car doors, the pantry door, a wall corner. You name it, I've probably bumped into it. Please tell me that I'm not the only one doing this.
I don't bump into people... My (many little) people are always bumping into the bump and saying "oh, sorry baby!" But my first (internal) reaction is to straight arm them. I don't... Cause I'm trying to be a "good mom" and all!
I can't stop dropping my phone on my belly, you know, when laying in bed at night. I suddenly get jelly fingers and next thing I know I'm denting my son's face. *eye roll*
I too am running into everything! especially when opening doors (the ones with the push bar across the middle. Then I spend a good 5 minutes rubbing my bump thinking "Mommy's sorry" to my LO hhaahah
@queenklau I got my Tdap on Wednesday and my arm STILL hurts! No other adverse reactions, so I'll take it. But it's so annoying when DH constantly bumps my arm or touches my arm. Dude, it still hurts!
@Mamax2 I am constantly bumping my bump into things. Doors, counters, shopping carts. Not people though, they seem to give me extra room these days.

I was watching the Today show this morning and Alton Brown made chicken parmesan meatball sandwiches. We are definitely going to have that for dinner soon.
Haven't run the bump into much, but I struggle with chairs. I pull it out what seems like a normal amount, go to sit down, and don't fit. Must learn to give myself more space...
I hit kids at school in the back of the head with my bump all the time when trying G to squeeze between tables lol. They are always super apologetic and I'm like no need, it's my fault!
My little dog loves spinach. Every time I make a smoothie she waits patiently for me to drop her a single leaf, then she grabs it and runs to enjoy like I've given her a real treat. She chews it on one side with some of the leaf sticking out. It really brings me joy, lol.

My lab eats just about anything. The first time I gave him spinach he tried so hard to eat is and just kept looking at me like this tastes like crap! He did eat it eventually, but it was just too funny!

@phoenix870509 two out of my three love fruits and vegetables. I can't eat an apple without two baby birds waiting patiently for me to drop a piece or two. And you can give them ALL the green beans. My other tzu wants to like that stuff so bad because he sees them getting bites, but every time I try he just spits it out and one of the others snatch it up. He prefers I hand over the meats and cheeses which I do very occasionally.
