@TeacherMom2517 did they give you an exact measurement of the fluid level? (Something called AFI number if I remember right). Do you think you may have leaked any amniotic fluid? And/or did they swab you and do the test strip to check for leaking amniotic fluid?
I'm so sorry you have this extra worry! Hugs!! Hopefully the next scan will say everything is ok!
@FreshBakedBrownies they actually didn't, which is what was weird to me when I came home and did research. They didn't give me specific fluid level number, however the woman did do an intravaginal u/s to check my cervix and said that looked good so I'm guessing that it isn't ruptured? They didn't do any swabs or anything. More so they just said they couldn't see as much as they usually do or would like to, and that the fluid level looks on the lower end so they're sending me to a high risk ultrasound specialist. But she told me not to freak out and that it's like sending someone who doesn't have cancer to a cancer center. Which in my mind of course translates to "right, but you're sending them there to see if they have cancer..." I don't know. My husband is so calm and supportive and of course I'm an anxious basket case and just want to have this new appointment now :-(
@TeacherMom2517 sending positive thoughts and fluid building vibes your way! I'm sorry you have this extra stress. Did they say when you'd get to see the high risk doctor? I hope it's soon for your sanity's sake
@TeacherMom2517, I hope your wait isn't long. I see a high risk specialist exclusively as my primary, and they are just specially trained and sometimes have better equipment.

I had a check up yesterday that ended up being an appt and then a trip to L&D for fluids and IV meds. I had been sick, had a 2 day headache and couldn't keep things down. I had a feeling I was heading that route, I am glad I had left my daughter home with Grandpa and my mom came with me.
I am still feeling wonky today but hoping rest, fluids and eating keep me on track.

@Partyof6? I hope you are feeling better and will keep you in my thoughts! Hopefully those fluids kick in and help push out whatever had you feeling sick!
I received a call today from their receptionist and I have my high-risk specialist appointment scheduled for an ultrasound at 2:15 next Friday! Please send all your love and vibes and pixie dust and anything and everything you believe in our way! I had a huge anxiety attack over it last night (DH is so amazing--how did I score the jackpot with such a supportive and loving man?!? He's so wonderful!) but today I've decided there is nothing that stress and worrying can do to help, and in fact can only really make it worse. So my intention is to let go, let God in, and drink lots and lots of fluids and eat healthy. I've read all the horror stories on google and have also read the miracles... let's hope for a miracle, ladies!!! He's already measuring 13 ounces, and usually he wouldn't hit that until half way through week 22/almost week 23 (we're almost at 21 weeks) so maybe he's just a big ol' baby?!? Thank you for your love and support!
@TeacherMom2517 I'm glad you're getting in next week! Rest and tons of fluids sounds like a great plan! Just in case you've got a leak or partial rupture, I'd suggest pelvic rest too (nothing in your who-ha, no sex, no swimming or baths so less risk of bacteria getting in there). I know I'm not your doctor, I just am hoping for the very best for you and wouldn't want you to unknowingly take any extra risks! Hugs & prayers!
@Partyof6? Yikes! I'm so sorry you're have a rough pregnancy. I hope things get a lot better for you soon.
I had my A/S Tuesday at the hospital. My doctor's office was supposed to call me with the results by now but they haven't. I just tried calling them and the office closed early cuz it's Friday. Woof. I'll have to wait until Monday. But I'm ASSUMING if it was anything serious, God forbid, that they would have called me immediately.
Thanks everyone, I am feeling much better today. I love my doctor so much. He is a high risk doctor, but sees me since he was my doctor with twins. I think technically at 38, I qualify as AMA and could have been referred there anyway.
Looking back I think I started getting dehydrated before the headache started and that could have caused the whole downward spiral. I need to up my fluid intake!
