Hi ladies,
As some of you saw me post yesterday, we had our first appointment yesterday (11w5d). Our OB was unable to find a heartbeat with the doppler and did an ultrasound in the office with a handheld machine. Although the picture was not very clear on such a small machine, she was concerned that baby was measuring far behind and sent us for an ultrasound at our hospital today. Unfortunately our baby is only measuring 6w5d and they could not detect a heartbeat. We are going to have more blood work and possibly a second ultrasound to confirm, but it appears to be a missed miscarriage.
We are obviously absolutely devastated about this loss. We had been planning on announcing to our best friends yesterday after our appointment, and then to extended family and friends this weekend. Now we are having very different conversations than anticipated. I have been having cramps off and on all day today, and am hoping that this miscarriage process will be as quick and pain-free as possible. I've never experienced a loss before so I really don't know what to expect. I'm just praying that everything goes as smoothly as possible.
Hoping you all have healthy and happy pregnancies! Good luck to all of you mommas!
