Awful. If it's not constipation it's diarrhea. And nausea and food aversion still. But I'm grateful I'm not vomiting! I also applaud these full time working mamas, especially those with little ones already because I work a bit less than full time and I still feel like I'm never getting enough rest and sleep.
Another blah symptom is that my face is so oily and so broken out.
On the positive side, I'm fascinated by the darkening of veins on my chest and thighs, and I'm loving the thickening of my hair and strengthening of my fingernails. They're so much stronger than usual and it's awesome.
The nausea has subsided. I brought out my maternity shorts which I wear around at home. At 8 weeks my bloat belly just popped out and no matter how much breathing in its there now, and happened much sooner than my first. In my mind its obvious but I'm still keeping the news under wraps for a while and hoping close friends don't notice.
Lastly I have my tweezers and razor out since I have hair growing all over everywhere unwanted except for my head ugh!!
This is the first day in probably 6 weeks that I don't feel completely nauseous! I am going to try and get as much done as possible today just in case it doesn't last...but hoping it does!
Want to hear some BS? I already have sciatica from carrying my toddler around. I asked my OB like, "It feels like it, but it can't be, because I'm only 9 weeks. Right?" And he was like, "Wellllllllllllllll......"
@kcasset I'm having pubis pain already myself! Ahhh!! Nooooo.
I was almost late for practicum placement today because I spent ten minutes dry heaving and throwing up bile instead of getting my 5-year-old ready He usually dresses himself, but he has a cold (as do I) so he just wasn't up for being an adulting 5 y-o. Fortunately his dad agreed to take him this morning so he didn't have to go to school!
Pregnancy # 6 4 missed chances 2 loving children 1 on the way
Between weeks 7 and 10 I had the occasional nausea but it was pretty fleeting - just have to keep food in my gut at all times. I did discover a food I can't eat the hard way. Chia seeds. Let's just say me and the porcelain throne become well acquainted. Awful sciatica around the same time, too. Also, I had 2 small stints of spotting but apparently that's normal with twins and my doctor confirmed they are doing well. I'm also now a super picky eater - like if I don't REALLY REALLY want it, I can't stomach it.

The fatigue seems to be a little more manageable this week...and when I say manageable I mean that I lay in bed right after I put my toddler to bed and have enough energy to read for a little or watch a tv show. Nothing crazy, but an improvement.
Finally feeling a lot better - all of the nausea is gone, and no more headaches. I'm still tired - really hits me in the afternoons, but going to bed early and waking up to workout helps a ton. I'm also super bloated in the evenings, but haven't had to wear new clothes yet and am not showing yet.
No symptoms at all! I only vomited once so far during the ten weeks. Boobs feel less sore and less big but still bigger than used to be. The only thing that is constant is the tiredness. My boss and I went to a meeting together and he decided to take the stairs instead of the lifts. Only two flights of stairs.... I lagged behind so much and panted so much that he asked if I was ok... think a conversation is needed at our October 1:1....!
Me: 35 year old FTM, a busy city banker living in London, and a constant worrier. My DH: French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever. Our baby boy: Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks. I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!! Last measurement: 3150 gs at 37+1! This is going to be a big baby
@kitkat8387 ugh. same thing happened to me! I woke up one morning and felt awesome! I thought that I had finally reached a turning point, and not 4 hours later, the nausea came back in full force. I guess I'm thankful for the short reprieve?
One of my boobs is now bigger than the other. So there's that. Also, the nausea is not going anywhere. I look 6 months pregnant and my belly is so tight and uncomfortable - it's like a sausage that needs to be pricked with a fork.
Oh, and I started getting this really weird splotchy rash on my face and neck after throwing up that lasts for like 3 or 4 days. Not raised and doesn't itch at all. I looked it up and it is apparently broken blood vessels from the strain of vomiting, and you can also get them during labor (except way worse)? Has anyone else experienced this? Definitely never did when I threw up before I was pregnant!
@kcasset I feel your pain! My sciatic pain has been in full force for weeks here! So not cool!
Im alright I guess. I'm just still so. damn. tired. All the time. And it's already morphed into feeling physically worn out from just being sleepy. Ugh.

The exhaustion is unreal the past few days! And everytime I eat anything I get this sour taste in my mouth which alone makes me want to be sick, I always have to have gum in me in case I'm not able to brush my teeth immediately after eating. And the past couple of days my ears have been hurting so bad at night! Hard to explain but whichever side I'm lying on, that ear feels like it's been folded in half and slept on...bizarre
Nausea is lessening but I still don't have much of an appetite. My weird symptom this weekend was having extreme shortness of breath and kind of a tightening of my lungs so that I couldn't make it up a hill to get back to our car after visiting a pumpkin patch. I don't have asthma but I imagine that's what an asthma attack might feel like? I vaguely remember feeling that when I was in middle/high school but never since. Super weird.
In other news, I had to dress up for a semi fancy thing for DH's work last night and I just had to embrace the bloat bump that I have now. It was so obvious that a woman I've never met asked me when I'm due.
I thought, I REALLY thought, I was over throwing up. I went a week without any puking. Then yesterday, boom. Bye breakfast. Today, mid-afternoon, boom. Trying to hide the pregnancy from my children for a few more weeks (until we hear the heartbeat), but throwing up without making a scene at home is hard when it's so random!
How are you all managing morning sickness and working? I called in sick today because I can't even sit upright without getting hit with a huge wave of nausea. I feel like a wimp because I know some women have it way worse but I just couldn't fathom how to even drive myself to school today, much less teach. It's such a mind game. Eat, or else you'll get sick. But the thought of eating in the first place makes you sick.
Otherwise, I'm just tired. I'm ready to feel like a person again and not a zombie.

have you tried eating before going to bed? I find that it helps sometimes with morning nausea. I personally don't have much morning sickness but I do get so hungry in the morning that it feels like I'm going to die if I don't eat.
I have a sleeve of crackers and some sprite on my nightstand. I eat a couple crackers every time I get up to pee- usually 2 or 3 times a night. It has helped. I've also been drinking meal replacement drinks for breakfast as they get the calories in me but aren't too foody.
@cafedisco what state do you live in? There are several states that have pregnancy discrimination laws which make it so that your work has to treat pregnancy like a disability and thus you can ask for reasonable accommodations. For example: My morning nausea is so bad that I've asked to come in 30 minutes later than normal. I'm salaried and regularly work over 40 hours a week, so they can easily accommodate.

I live in AZ. It's just hard to imagine what that would like like as a teacher. I know they "have to" provide accommodations but there isn't really extra staff to cover my class. If it keeps up, I'm definitely going to have to talk to my principal about a plan. I'm already running out of sick days, which I was hoping to save up for maternity leave anyway.

I'm kind of joking with this (but also not really), but at what point do I need to worry about my inability to drink water? I cannot stomach it. Period. I've been trying to drink chocolate milk, vitamin water, coconut water, etc., but even then I still can't really handle much liquids. TMI, but most of the time my urine is light enough so I take it that it's okay, but I know it's not enough liquids for two.
@kcasset Maybe you can try to eat more foods with high water content (90%+) such as cucumber, iceberg lettuce, celery, radishes, tomatoes, green peppers, cauliflower, watermelon, spinach, strawberries, broccoli, grapefruit, baby carrots, and cantaloupe?
@kcasset With DS I got to the point that I couldn't keep water down. My doctor was pretty concerned put me on Zofran and bed rest for about 10 days. She told me I needed to take time to recover or it wasn't going to improve.
Thanks, @allybadry - I probably need to call them back and let them know it's not getting any better. I feel like I'm old enough to know how to take care of myself in this way, but today I've noticed I've been a lot more lightheaded than usual and I'm more annoyed at myself than anything that I let it get here.
@kscasset, I am in close to the same boat. I can drink a little bit with a meal but not just by itself during the day. I have been getting headaches almost every day which is I'm sure due to some dehydration. I discussed it with my OB today and she said the same thing as @littlechick2 - eat more water content foods so thank you for all those suggestions! She also told me to start taking magnesium and ribo flavin supplements for the headaches if anyone else is having that issue.
I can't do plain water either! I'm drinking lemonade and Gatorade mostly, and seltzer. It all has to be ice cold too! I'm 11 weeks and just praying this nausea/vomiting ends with the 1st Trimester!!
