How did your appointment go overall? Good, she did a Group Strep B test, which surprised me because I'm having a scheduled c-section. Oh well. Also, I completely forgot to ask any questions. Doh.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound- baby looks great and is still a big baby. She estimated her at 7 pounds 2 ounces today.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? She would have if I had remembered to ask any questions.

How did your appointment go overall? Just fine.. nothing exciting- just the way I like it!
Any ultrasound or doppler? Just the doppler today
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I didn't really have any questions- he would have answered if I had though! We mostly talked about work because we obviously work on the same floor!
Any ultrasound or doppler? U/S. Baby is weighing around 5lbs 10oz. so shes now considered a normal weight, last time they thought she was too big so this was a second growth scan to see where she now, we will have another one at 37 weeks.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I check my results of my urine online after every appointment and this week it showed protein in my urine, which I know can be normal so I'm waiting for her to call on that and how our strep B went. I am currently 1 CM dilated. She mentioned I had a narrow pelvis and if baby doesn't put on weight it will be fine to deliver vaginally; however, how can she not gain weight between now and 4 weeks(if we go that long) so i'm kind of preparing for a c-section. (although, I thought your pelvis moved? idk but she didn't seem very happy about it.)
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. If we go full term Kinzley will only be 11 days old when Halloween rolls around so we got her some cute Halloween themed onsies.

How did your appointment go overall? Fine! The nurse told me to prep for the GBS, but then the doctor came in and said that since I tested positive for Strep B back in my first tri bloodwork, I would already be treated with antibiotics during labor and no need to test again. SO, yay for avoiding the bum-swab!
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler - steady heartbeat at 142!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? She did a quick check, said she felt baby's head immediately, and my cervix was just a smidge dilated. However, she said that was no inclination as to when I might go into labor... But, at least I know baby is turned the right way! Also, she wants to me to go back to MFM for this last month for NSTs and fluid checks weekly...
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. We won't go anywhere, and likely won't get more than 10 trick-or-treaters, but I'll probably still dress baby up for at least a picture!! My first baby is my pup, so I'm hoping to do a coordinating costume, likely something like one of these two :
How did your appointment go overall? Good. Watched a little video on contractions and what to watch for. Doctor felt for the baby and said he is still head down and REALLY low. Also, flu shot. What's one more needle right?
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler 136 BPM
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes, she said the pains on my right side are most likely RLP, which is what I figured. There's not much else to do about them except wait for them to pass.
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. Ehhhh not really. I bought an orange onesie with a jack-o-lantern face on it that he will probably wear, but that's about it. Not sure we will pass out candy because the dog goes nuts when the doorbell rings!
Me:33 DH: 34 Married: May 2011 TTC #1: May 2015 DS: 10/20/2016 TTC #2: June 2019 #2 EDD: 2/20/2020
How did your appt go overall? Not bad. Got the swab, but I was expecting it, and one last blood draw to check for anemia. Only dilated 2cm and 50% effaced.
Any ultrasound or Doppler? We had our last growth u/s. She is head down which I figured but it's nice to know for sure what's grinding on my cervix lol. Not many good pictures because she had her face smashed into the placenta and she's estimated at 6lbs 12oz. She was practice breathing the whole time, too precious! Heart rate at 152.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? We talked induction. As long as I meet his criteria, which I will, we have a date for the 8th! Weee!
For fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? Not really a costume but I did see something cute at Target that I had to have so she can be festive while her brothers are trick-or-treating.
How did your appointment go overall? Well. NST and doppler normal (there was a lot more action this week but no patterns). Ultrasound normal. Cervix check revealed no dilation, and baby is still only halfway dropped. Strep B negative. I go back in a week.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler during NST (that's where they measure contractions, yes?) HB hanging in the 140s. Ultrasound to check growth. Clocking in at approximately 6lb3oz.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? We talked for almost half an hour. I guess I had a lot of questions...
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? Halloween isn't really a holiday in Europe. I usually help run a kid's Halloween party at the American Library but will obviously be skipping this year. Bummer.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes, didn't really have any other than voicing I am uncomfortable lol
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. not dressing up in a costume, just a my 1st Halloween outfit with pumpkin booties and pumpkin hat since he will only be a week old.
How far along are you? 37+4 How did your appointment go overall? Fine. My bp was up a bit, but not enough to be worrisome. Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler. He hid and ran away from it, as always hb was 137. Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes, she answered some questions I had about the group B strep protocol and epidural timing. For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. I've never been into Halloween, but H wants to dress him up. This is what we're looking at, but haven't decided for sure yet.
How far along are you? 34+3 at yesterday's appointment
How did your appointment go overall? Went well! BP is still good which is reassuring. Found out baby is measuring at 35 weeks. Hoping that means I get to see her a little sooner!
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler - everything was good!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yup - talked to her about my awful heartburn. She told me to take 150mg of Zantac/day (I'd only been taking 75) and to let her know if it gets worse.
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. My EDD is October 30, so I am hoping she comes a few days early to be home for Halloween! I posted this on Facebook but my mom already picked this up:
How did your appointment go overall? Mostly good. Was probably the fastest apt I've had my whole pregnancy (and was still at the office for about 2.5 hours). Dr didn't jump to schedule a c-section so I'm happy about that. The pelvic exam wasn't nearly as bad as I expected.
Any ultrasound or doppler? U/S. Baby is still breech but has plenty of space to flip. Everything else is looking good!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? The ones I voiced at least.
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged No halloween in Tanzania. Though I've seen some ridiculously adorable costumes on the internet

How did your appointment go overall? fine. I gained three pounds this week. I'm pretty sure it's half constipation and half the cookie marathon I had yesterday, but the dr said to cut out carbs for the rest of the time.
I am 2.5 cm dialated and 40% effaced. At least I know it is progressing (last week was less than 1cm dilated as she could only get a fingertip in.)
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler. She didn't tell me the heart rate today, but it sounded like it usually does!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I didn't ask any.
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? Polar Bear, courtesy of Potterybarn Kids!
How did your appointment go overall? It went really well. Last week I had even more elevated blood pressure, so they did bloodwork. Everything came back great and it got my confidence back up againto see that my BP is unchanged this week (actually went down a little on the top number) and that bloodwork showed nothing to be concerned about.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler. He's always rolling around for her when she checks, and she said his heart rate goes up and down with his movements, which is a great sign.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yea, we had a good talk finally. I keep meaning to ask her but then we would get sidetracked and I forget, so it was good to get some of them out. Here they are, in case you're interested lol. Policy
on delayed cord clamping? Yes, that is hospital policy to
delay cord clamping
If
I go past due, what's policy? Schedule c-section; VBACs don't get induced.
=(
When
to go to the hospital? Contracting every 5 mins for more
than an hour, bleeding like period, or water broke
Can I eat/drink during labor? As soon as I'm in active labor, clear liquids only
Must
I be hooked up to any IVs if I'm not using any pain meds? Yes, cause VBAC
Can
I get out of work early to take full advantage of the 12 weeks I'm allowed? I'd
need a note. (Start leave 10/10). "We'll check next week"
was all she said. =(
Cervix
checks? Today! No dilation, 50%
"thinned out", so I assume that means we're 50% effaced. And she
confirmed we are definitely head down. Whoo hoo, we're going in the right
direction!
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. We have 2 options, depending on the weather (here in NW Ohio, it seems to be either 30° or 80°). We have a Ninja Turtles outfit I found for $6 at a second hand store, and my mom crocheted him a Very Hungry Caterpillar sack and matching hat, so we could layer as we need to depending on the temp, etc... sorry I don't have photos, I'm at work!
Countdown to Baby H! Mommy to Elizabeth (6/18/09), preemie at 34 weeks
How far along are you? 36+1 How did your appointment go overall? Fine although I was disappointed not to be dilated at all. Effacement 50%, baby station at -2. Blergh I know it's still really early but I'm feeling large! Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound. Baby is head down, measuring about 6 lbs, bp 128 Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? No, they took forever to see us so I had to run home and relieve the sitter. For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. Nope, I can't see buying an outfit he'll only wear once.
How did your appointment go overall? It went well. I'm seeing the OB these days mostly and I love her. If I could keep her around at all times for how calm she is, I would.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound to check for growth. She's head down and in great position right now. She's also measuring in at an estimated 7 pounds 8 ounces. My doctor seems to trust the technicians estimation skills very highly and thinks that that weight is fairly accurate. I'll have another scan at 38 weeks to see if she's still measuring 3+ weeks ahead. If she is then 38 might be as far as I go. As the doctor said, we aren't interested in setting any records. I was 10 pounds, 10 ounces at birth and I'm okay with remaining the largest baby in the family!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I've been super itchy lately and she got me all squared away with that (ugh heat rash) and reassured me that if know labor when it happens. She also worked her magic and got me set up for a 4:00 appointment so I don't have to miss any time with any of my students next time (since we'll be going cultures and a cervical check then).
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. Halloween is highly celebrated in my family. It's a whole family affair and my mom gives out over 200 pounds of candy to about 500 kids each year. Right now Vada's first Halloween will be brought in with a little orange long pants onsie that has a jack-o-lantern face on it. We'll be hanging out with my family and taking it easy that night
How far along are you? 38+5 How did your appointment go overall? Just fine. Any ultrasound or doppler? Ultrasound - my uterus keeps measuring small, and weight gain has been kinda low (no idea why) so they were concerned about amniotic fluid levels. It looked fine though - 10cm (not that I really have a reference to go by). They "predict" she is around 6.5 lb right now, which is 2lb less than big brother was at 40w exactly. So I guess she may just be smaller. Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I got a note for light duty for my final week at work! So that makes me feel better, because I don't make PTO. For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. Idk, I'd like to! A friend is having an Abraham Lincoln-themed party so she may go as "babe-raham Lincoln."
How did your appointment go overall? Good. I received my TDAP shot and the lovely Strep B test.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler was used, Tommy's heartbeat is perfect.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Just questioned my swelling, it's not too bad but I haven't had much of it till this week and he said it's perfectly normal and it's here to stay till after delivery. Also needed to get my paper work filled out from him for my maternity leave so I can submit that to HR.
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged
My moms best friend made this for our son for Halloween. So damn cute, can't wait to see him in it. Also we have a Mickey and an Owl bunting, so he'll be changed a few times that night. LOL
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
My appointment was Tuesday but I forgot to check in How far along are you? 38W2D (on Tuesday)
How did your appointment go overall? Good, I had an afternoon appointment but had been leaking mucous like substance for 24 hours. I called to see if it was a concern and they told me to come in right away. After checking me they said all is well, just losing mucous which isn't dangerous, it just happens. In the doctor's words "if I closed my eyes when I checked you I wouldn't even know you're pregnant" which means I'm still high and not dilated. He said I will go well into October. Gah
Any ultrasound or doppler? doppler...and this girl will kick everytime she gets the doppler. She's a turd
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes i had concerns with the mucous and we got all of that straightened out.
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. She's gonna be a cat!!! #futurecatladylikehermomma
How far along are you? 38w4d at the appt... posting this a day later
How did your appointment go overall? Good. Did an NST to check on baby's movements as they had decreased a lot. He's gone from "ninja" mode to "normal" mode on movements. Things looked fine, though. Ultrasound showed that he's doing great. Both Ob and MFM are suggesting an induction for 9/29 due to elevated AFI levels.
Any ultrasound or doppler? ultrasound
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yep. I asked about the breast pump, and I'm holding off until he's born because I may need a hospital grade version due to a previous breast reduction.
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. He will be Mickey Mouse or Woody. We got little onesies from Target.
How did your appointment go overall? It was good. ******TW****** I saw the doctor that did my ectopic surgery back in December, for the first time today since the surgery. I cried when I saw him, and gave him a hug. I am just so grateful for everything he did for us. It was so awesome to see him!! And, he told me that he's the main doctor doing deliveries for the next two months, so it is highly likely that he will deliver me. It's been such an emotional morning, but in a very good way!!
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler. Not sure of the heart beat rate, but everything sounded normal.
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yes!! Swelling: normal / will go away once the baby is born. Heartburn: normal / will go away once the baby is born. Rash (looks like an allergy rash, but not quite sure): normal / will go away once the baby is born. Basically, just looking forward to meeting this little guy and also starting to feel like myself again. But, as I have about 5 weeks left, I will definitely put up with the symptoms as long as he is getting stronger and healthier in there.
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. I don't think so. We are due on October 30th, so if we are overdue, we miss out entirely on all of the Halloween fun this year.
How did your appointment go overall? Doctor was surprised I'm still pregnant :P She was out at a conference last week so I was re-scheduled to a nurse practitioner she said she was surprised to see I was 2.5 cm last week.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler at the appointment, ultrasound (if we make it there) will be on Monday
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I didn't have any questions just ready for baby to be here when it's his time to come. The doctor just shared again what signs to look for and that if any of those things happened go right to Labor & Delivery. Doctor also talked to me about if I made it to my next appointment we would have the option of having membranes sweeped since it can help with inducing pregnancy, she said it's up to us to decide to do or not but my body is ready for this baby and doing that it'd basically get baby out.
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. We're planning to do a family costume of some sort again, it really depends on what our 3 year old decides he'd like to be this year. Last year he wanted to be Thomas the Train, so my husband was Sir Topamhat (wore a suite and top hat) and I was a train conductor, the year before he was the big bad wolf, my husband was a lumber jack, and I was red riding hood. We're planning to only do a few trick-or-treat outings - my work does "Halloween in the Halls" so the students in the residence halls decorate and dress up and families of the university employees can come and trick or treat through all of our buildings, our son had so much fun last year and it's held the week before Halloween.
Well I just got a call from my Dr office that my Strep B culture was contaminated by Quest on it's way to the lab. Like really?! So now I have to get a repeat Strep B again next Thursday. Good times. Way to go Quest.

How did your appointment go overall? Not great, but not horrible either. I lost 1 pound over the past 2.5 weeks since my last appointment which is awful because I haven't been gaining well. I also measured 2 weeks behind. I could feel the judgment seeping out of the midwife and wanted to crawl into a hole and hide. I eat PLENTY, mostly healthier foods but I do indulge in normal snacks and treats as well. I just have a faster metabolism and have always struggled to keep my weight at a healthy place. I felt like a total failure because she kept making comments about my size. I don't know what else to do other than what I'm already doing- I just hate the judgey looks and little comments.
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler, baby sounded strong and healthy
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? I was seeing a substitute today as my midwife was at a conference. I decided not to ask anything. I wasn't very comfortable with her.
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged.
DS wants his brother to be a teddy bear. I have a little teddy bear knit hat that we will put on him that is super cute. Not sure if I'll make it out for trick or treating, depends on when he decides to make his debut.
How far along are you? 37w 3D at my appointment yesterday
How did your appointment go overall? Depressing. He said Im still closed so now I'm afraid I'll go overdue. He said at this point I'm not favorable for induction at 39 weeks unless things change. I know an extra week or two doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but I'm so done and feel like such a failure that despite all the EPO, teas, adding ten days to my Edd to match ultrasound measurements, etc Im probably going to be overdue again this time Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler. HR was in the 140s Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? This was my first time with this dr and I'm not a fan. Very little personality or bedside manner. He was very dry and all business. For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. Still deciding. I have a cute Halloween beanie and sleeper from Carters but I might dress him in a costume too
How did your appointment go overall? Really well! I found out I'm dilated 2cm, which was a shock to me and the doctor. Also, group b strep culture was negative. Yay!
Any ultrasound or doppler? Portable u/s, although you can't see too much now. She's way too big to fit on the screen!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? Yep, I asked if she was alarmed at all that my belly is still small and she said absolutely not, that I'm exactly as big as I should be for my height and long torso.
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged. Of course! I was going with a baby burrito, but DH said it was stupid, so we'll probably just go with the traditional pumpkin

How far along are you? 36 w, 5 days
How did your appointment go overall? Short and sweet
Any ultrasound or doppler? Doppler.. she kept moving away from it though!
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had? No questions. Not dilated or effaced but softened.. whatever that means
For Fun: Are you dressing baby up for Halloween? If so, share your best baby costume! Pictures are highly encouraged.
Not planning on it!

Bummer.
DS#2 due 25 April 2019
How did your appointment go overall? went great
Any ultrasound or doppler? doppler

How did your appointment go overall?
BFP #2 - Feb 2, 2016 --EDD 10/10/16 --Abigail- October 6, 2016. Heart warrior.
October 2017- Began fostering to adopt T, (DOB:November 19, 2013)

How did your appointment go overall?
It went really well. Last week I had even more elevated blood pressure, so they did bloodwork. Everything came back great and it got my confidence back up again to see that my BP is unchanged this week (actually went down a little on the top number) and that bloodwork showed nothing to be concerned about.
Policy on delayed cord clamping? Yes, that is hospital policy to delay cord clamping
If I go past due, what's policy? Schedule c-section; VBACs don't get induced. =(
When to go to the hospital? Contracting every 5 mins for more than an hour, bleeding like period, or water broke
Can I eat/drink during labor? As soon as I'm in active labor, clear liquids only
Must I be hooked up to any IVs if I'm not using any pain meds? Yes, cause VBAC
Can I get out of work early to take full advantage of the 12 weeks I'm allowed? I'd need a note. (Start leave 10/10). "We'll check next week" was all she said. =(
Cervix checks? Today! No dilation, 50% "thinned out", so I assume that means we're 50% effaced. And she confirmed we are definitely head down. Whoo hoo, we're going in the right direction!

How did your appointment go overall?
Fine although I was disappointed not to be dilated at all. Effacement 50%, baby station at -2. Blergh I know it's still really early but I'm feeling large!
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Ultrasound. Baby is head down, measuring about 6 lbs, bp 128
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?

How did your appointment go overall?
LOL
TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year.

IT'S A BOY!!!
How far along are you?
******TW******
I saw the doctor that did my ectopic surgery back in December, for the first time today since the surgery.

IT'S A BOY!!!
I know an extra week or two doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but I'm so done and feel like such a failure that despite all the EPO, teas, adding ten days to my Edd to match ultrasound measurements, etc Im probably going to be overdue again this time
Any ultrasound or doppler?
Doppler. HR was in the 140s
Did your doctor or midwife answer any questions or concerns you had?
